My bb device was never locked to any network, but i am currently on Globe Telecom in the philippines.
I downloaded the OS package for that carrier from URL...and installed it on my pc.It then asked me if i wanted to run the desktop manager and i chose to do so.i plugged my bb in and clickd on the application loader -> update software but there was no option for the v.5.0 software.
The Case:
The customer tried to sync his blackberry with blackberry desktop and few hours later start an amazing number of new emails into one of his POP3 mail accounts.the emails follow this problem http://www.blackberry.com/select/es/support/kb/internet/KB04254_-1.shtml so yes, the customer did install the desktop with BES option and he have BIS. carrier: Movistar - Uruguay Blackberry 8520 @ 4.6 few screens to be clear and help to explain as the previous link says i had:
- Uninstalled the Blackberry Desktop software from pc.
- Deleted all Service Books
- Whipe the phone (also third party apps)
- Deleted the BIS Account
- i did checked if it has the right configuration at admin provisioning site (was right,it had BIS)
- Made a new BIS account
- Added the two customer Email accounts
- Restored the backup of phonebook, calendar, tasks, sms, email. (NO service books restored)
but two hours later, the customer once again get the unstoppable mail, the mails came to his mail box, not just the divice, and is just with one of his accounts. did i do something wrong? what more can i do? any suggestions?
Just about every day, my BlackBerry Curve 8530 becomes unresponsive to any keys. I use Password Lock (because I have no choice--I upgraded and lost Keyboard Lock) and if I see that the red light is blinking and I go to "sign in" and it won't respond to any keys, including the convenience keys, dial/hang-up, trackpad and click, and Media buttons. However, the phone is still operating and will respond to new messages coming in, phone calls (though you can't use any keys), and Bluetooth, etc. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing fixes it except for pulling the battery (and waiting for it to restart--which takes longer than my computers). This did not happen back under Keyboard Lock before I upgraded the first time. I'm currently on 5.0.0.734.Does anyone have any idea of what's happening, or what can be done to get out of the situation when it does occur, short of yanking the battery?

So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.
What it says is this.."Provisioning Status".."The network is configuring your device".then it says "Your device could not be registered with the wireless network. contact your wireless service provider",but i can call and receive sms!Any suggestions?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems today with my 8520 Curve. I keep receiving a message from donotreply@blackberry.com informing me that my emails are not being delivered to my device. It goes on to tell me to turn on the IMAP setting for all mail on my email account and validate my account. Having checked, my IMAP settings are correct so I re-validated my Bkackberry and, for all intents & purposes the email account is now valid. However, I then shortly receive another message exactly the same from donotreply@blackberry.com. I have gone round this cycle 3-4 times now but am still not receiving emails.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've being trying to update my device software but it's impossible, not even downloading the archive from the web.
Everytime I plug in my phone and open the blackberry manager to do whaterver it gives me the message that I haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager . I updated my desktop manager to version 5.0, and I tried to update my device software and it says that I don't have any updates, after that I have deleted the files device.xml and vendor.xml but again when I plugged in my phone it comes the message that the Blackberry Device Manager is not installed. I've uninstalled the desktop manager and it let me use once but again no update for my phone software and then again the same message that i haven't installed the Blackberry Device Manager
My carrier company here in Ecuador wont help me cause I bought the phone in the USA, but anyways I have friends that have the same problem as and they have bought in Ecuador to Movistar (my carrier) the same phone and the update to 5.0 doesn't work.
I've today invested in this device, and I'm having trouble getting the browser to work, I did have a gander round the forums and the blackberry support section about this problem.
I've created the Wi-Fi Connection its come up as "Wlan_089A8C"
I still can't connect to the browser.
I see the browser is "HotSpot Browser" But in the general properties how do I change the Default Browser To another browser for this to work?
I have several dozen pictures that were added to my new Curve 8530 from my old phone before I had an sd memory media card, so they're sitting in the internal device memory. How do I transfer them to the media card, and can I "select all" to move them all at once or do I have to go picture by picture?
Also, I use Desktop Manager for Mac. Is there any way I can move them around through my Mac Finder? Would I have to disable Mass Storage? In what situations would one enable or disable Mass Storage and MTP? (OK, that's probably a second topic; but I haven't found a good explanation of what it is.)
I used my 8520 curve with MTN without any trouble but with Tmobile now, I cant register my device. I've done the whole Host Routing Table routine several times and each time I get a message saying my device has been registered but when I try to add an account I get the same 'Device not registered' message. I've called Tmobile and they say all's fine at their end and they have no clue what to do next.

Every time I try to turn on my "Mobile Network" in Manage Connections, the device crashes then tries to reboot.It will continue trying to reboot until the progress bar in the Blackberry loading screen is full, then crashes again. It will do this until the battery is entirely drained.Because a drained battery causes the Mobile Network to automatically shut off, I can then plug the phone back into charge and it will turn on and be fine - until I try to turn on the Mobile Network, upon which the process repeats itself. My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Galaxy S5 from Argos very recently since I needed a sim free phone, it was a gift for my brother who was moving abroad. However, he has since informed me that the phone is locked and is not accepting the local sims. Now I feel this may have been my fault because I've heard you need to use a couple UK sims before going abroad which I never did. Anyway, I wanted to grab an unlock code for him to use but all the websites ask what network the phone is locked to, which he can't find since it was originally unlocked from Argos.
So in summary, I need to somehow find out if the phone is locked to a network even though the phone was bought unlocked. Pretty confusing, I know.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOur email account was hijacked a week or so ago and a load of duff emails sent out. Eventually issue resolved with yahoo after multiple password changes. However, since then we have had problems with emails on iphone and ipad. Sending seems the most problematic. We are using the new passwords but keep receiving error message saying that the username and password are incorrect-they aren't. We can access yahoo via PC and the account is fine-sends and receives as normal. Just makes me realise how much I use the mobile devices?
