when i go to settings on my iPhone and select wi-fi on, it shows my network with a padlock and i can't access my own network. how do i unlock my network? i am using an airport express as my wireless router. i do know the password for the airport express.

We have a household with 3 iPhone 3GS, 1 iPhone 4S, iPad, MacBook, 3 Windows PCs. All can usually connect to the Airport Express WiFi network. However recently one iPhone 3GS phone stoped being able to connect to the Airport Express network. We tried resetting the iPhone 3GS to factory settings and this did not fix the issue. We eventually had the phone replaced under the insurance I have with our cellular provider.
Now the same iPhone has just started doing exactly the same thing again. The symptoms are that the iPhone 3GS, sees the Airport Express network, it requests the password. The user enters the password and the little radial spoked wheel rotates endlessly and the iPhone 3GS does not connect to the network. Now the WiFi IS working as I have a 3G/WiFi bridge on test called a WiBE and the phone in question CAN connect to this using WPA/WPA2.
I have rebooted the Airport Extreme and the Airport Express network extenders several times as well as the phone, but it does not make any difference. This iPhone 3GS does not like the Airport Extreme network. I cannot believe I have a second faulty handset weeks after we had it replaced. Anyway it is not faulty as it successfully connects to a different WiFi network without difficulty.
My iPhone will not connect today to my airport express. Nor will my PC it says no DNS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect to an Airport base station that has a 6-letter password, but my BlackBerry insists that it must have 6 or 10 digit hexadecimal password or something like that, and won't accept when I enter the correct password—it won't even try to connect! Is it me or is this a ludicrous problem? I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution. Changing the base station password is not an option because it's shared by a lot of people.

My iPhone 4S locked up twice when I swipped to unlock. Now won't start. I soft reset it both times and now it flashes the Apple icon followed by spining beach ball and that starts over indeffinately. This was after deleting apps becasue it said I had low memory. Before I had 600mb and then I had 2 GB after deleting a bunch of apps. I have an Apple-unlocked iPhone 3GS which I bought in Australia 2 years ago. It's always worked fine with various SIMs and varuious carriers - I travel a lot so unlocked was my chocie as I use SIMs in each country I visit. Recently in UK, I bought and installed a prepaid (pay as you go) SIM while I was there and now I find the phone is locked to that carrier. Well, at least it will not make calls - it'll recieve calls and it'll send and recieve SMS messages, but I can't make any calls - it just begins the calling process then gives call failed message. Now I find the problem, I've moved on to another country so getting the carrier to see to it is impossible for me. So now I have a locked phone because somehow a carrier has been able to disable the factory unlock by using their SIM I installed. This is a carrier I have not used before with this phone.
how can that happen? How can a carrier have that sort of power over the device? How can I get back to the original unlocked state? I've tried a total Restore, but no change - still locked.
