BB Bold :: Contact Name Does Not Show On Incoming Calls?
Feb 14, 2012
When somebody in my contacts list calls my BB Bold 9930 I do not see the contact name, just the phone number. However when my BB is unlocked and somebody in my contacts list calls then I see the associated name with the number. When the phone is locked then I only see the number. How can I see the caller name for anyone who is in my contacts list even when my phone is locked?
All my contacts are synced, Facebook profile pics show up on the contact list but Caller ID photos do not show for incoming/sending calls. Its just the generic picture. However Google+ profile pictures do appear in a small circle on the bottom left corner on a gray background.
PS: The problem started after the 5.0 update. I've already reset the phone and tried doing the update with PC Companion. Nothing works.
My contacts' telephone numbers are not saved with the international dialing code. However incoming texts from my contacts come with international dialing code and therefore the contact's name do not appear on the text.
i have a BB 9300 with OS6 brand wind italia. this is my problem:-sometimes when my rubric contact call me i can't seeyour name, but only your telephone number. I noticed that is common when the phone is locked with password. I called the support, but I have not receives assistance!I also replaced the device, but the new one is equal.
I only recently got my first Android phone, a Motorola Droid 2 and I absolutely love it (though the extended battery is a must-have and probably should just come bundled with the device!) but since I got it, I've been having a very curious issue. Occasionally, when I receive a text message, it displays the sender's correct phone number but the name displayed is that of a different contact. Even when I'm having a back-and-forth text conversation, one of the incoming texts will suddenly appear with someone else's name.
im using Nokia x2-02 for last one month . after I updated my phone to v 11.63, The contact name is not appearing while im receiving a call it shows only the caller no. There are No duplicate of any contacts available.
I have a blackberry curve 8520 for the past week, all the calls that I receive show as "unknown numbers" they're all saved in my contacts but no name on numbers appears, when the phone rings it says "unknown numbers", I did not have this problem before so I don't understand what's happening anything needs to be change in my settings?
I bought an unlocked Iphone 4s from apple in CA and moved to Bangalore. I have a local sim setup and phone works fine, except that all incoming calls are marked as "unknown".
After 18 months my BB Storm has decided to show call log-incoming or outgoing- calls in some random order, rather than most recent call first. How can I get it back to "last call first"?
Since flashing my phone to update to PR1.2, any time I get a phone call from someone who is in my Contacts, it just displays the telephone number, which can cause an issue if I don't recognise it at first glance.Any ideas what could have caused this and how to resolve? Can it be due to the update? If this post has helped anyone in any way, PLEASE SHARE YOUR KUDOS, by clicking on the GREEN STAR.
My 5800 only shows the phone number, not the name of the person / business (as listed in my contacts).Shouldn't this happen automatically or is there are setting for this?
Have had the 9670 Style for a few weeks now. Didn't have this problem, but then about a week ago, suddenly every call I receive from a contact only shows the number!
Does anyone know how to solve this problem:My HTC Tattoo is acting like it doesn't know people in it's phone book When I get a call from a friend, it displays the generic 'Unkown' image instead of that person's name and photograph. This is really starting to bug me as I screen my calls and if I get an unknown caller I tend not to answer it - and at the moment I can't tell the difference between people I know and people I don't
For the last few days all of my calls are breaking up on incoming and outgoing. At first I thought that it was the other person that I was talking to but after doing many calls, it is my phone. Is there anything I could do to get this problem solved?
When I receive SMS it shows the date/time I RECEIVED it but NOT the date/time someone SENT it to me.When I turn my phone on in the morning, or have been out of a signal & the come into range (happens often where I live), I then cannot tell when it was sent.
I'm getting some problems when i get calls on my phone. It doesn't show the number from address book rather display the number as an unknown number. And then if i try to check the call history, it doesn't show up, instead it shows all the contacts from address book. I'm getting this problem quite frequently now, like 2-3 times a day and need to reboot the device in order to see my call history.
Was on phone when my face dialed another number. I disconnected the face dial but killed the other call. When I dial out cannot hear ring or answer. Same thing on incoming call. Must have pressed something but do not know what.
I have just received a new company car where I divert my Bold 9700 via bluetooth to the in car phone. All my incoming calls show the telephone number, not the name of the caller and they are all in my contacts folder in the blackberry and also in the car unit. What do I need to change in the blackberry to instruct it to show the caller's name?
well i had a curve 8520 backed it up using desktop manager, so than i restored it on to my bold 9700 couple of days later i was talking to my mate and on his blackberry it had a RED "X" on there so i deleted him and tried adding him but it keeps saying pending, this also happens with 2 other contacts.
After certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts. The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown. This continues till the phone is reset. But it reverts back to the same issue after some time.I thought this was a problem with the phone and changed Handset and SIM card also, but still the problem came back after a couple of months. My service provider is not able to help me. I tried updating the software in the old phone but still the problem was there. This is driving me crazy since there are many calls I dont want to attend.
I recently picked up a 9790 from Telus and I have noticed that it is randomly losing sound on outgoing and incoming calls. With outgoing calls it dials out fine and connects to who I am calling but I don't hear the ringing when the call goes out and I can't hear the person on the other end when it connects. When I receive a call I hear my ringtone but when I answer it I can't hear the person on the other end.The only way I can talk to someone when it is acting like this is to switch from headset mode to speaker.I played around with my phone and sound but could not find a fix. The only thing that works is a battery pull but even that is only temporary. So far the longest I can go is two days before I have to do another pull.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or should I just take the phone back and get a new one? I've heard this is actually an issue with the 9790 so I am a bit worried about replacing it when it could happen again.
