Galaxy S6 :: Calls Going Direct To Voicemail Despite Full Bars
Oct 20, 2015My wife and I both have the Galaxy S6. Recently, we have been missing many important calls . They seem to go directly to voicemail, despite full bars of reception. The other day I was waiting for an important call from Google Play Support and I had the phone right in front of me and it never rang but I received a voicemail notification.
I have read about some users in Canada having similar problems, but I can't find anything similar for T-Mobile users in the U.S. It seems to have started after the 5.11 update. It also appears to happen more frequently at home, which would suggest that it has to do with being connected to WiFI, since I always have a strong cell signal at home.

May 21, 2011It took some time to upgrade to 2.1 and the process was not as straightforward as I had hoped but I eventually retrieved my contacts and re-installed my apps. Then I found a fundamental problem...I cannot answer any incoming calls!
When I swipe the bar across the screen to answer the phone it goes straight to voicemail. I have searched settings and cannot see why this is happening. Does anyone out there know what am doing or have done wrong?

And then if i try to check the call history, it doesn't show up, instead it shows all the contacts from address book. Jun 16, 2010After certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts.The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown.This continues till the phone is reset. Apr 20, 2012I recently picked up a 9790 from Telus and I have noticed that it is randomly losing sound on outgoing and incoming calls. With outgoing calls it dials out fine and connects to who I am calling but I don't hear the ringing when the call goes out and I can't hear the person on the other end when it connects. When I receive a call I hear my ringtone but when I answer it I can't hear the person on the other end.The only way I can talk to someone when it is acting like this is to switch from headset mode to speaker.I played around with my phone and sound but could not find a fix. The only thing that works is a battery pull but even that is only temporary. So far the longest I can go is two days before I have to do another pull.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or should I just take the phone back and get a new one? I've heard this is actually an issue with the 9790 so I am a bit worried about replacing it when it could happen again.
