I have a BB9700 smartphone i bought in bangkok. Now I'm using it in Australia. The calls incoming from Private Numbers (the nos that are not listed) are getting cut off. It gets disconnected automatically after the 1st ring. I have not used call barring.
View 1 RepliesSo i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!
I recently upgraded to the 9700 with Tmo in December. Coming from an 8900 I thought it would truly be an "upgrade". Since getting the 9700 i have had more dropped calls, call fail, can not access server etc. The phone will even go into a soft reset mid call, text or email for no reason. I called tmo and the replaced the phone and sim card. it worked well for about a day or two and BAM same crap. I am not so sure its the phone anymore. Some people i talk to say it is TMO service but i have never had this problem before and have been with tmo for 3 yrs.any suggestions /advice?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt is Iphone 4 on iOS 7.1.2.When calling to this phone, call gets through for a moment and then it gets disconnected with a message that the phone is busy.There is no ring on the phone but a missed call gets registered.Sim card is removed and refixed several times.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter certain time in the phone all incoming calls show the same number in caller ID.The number that is shown will be the last call received before the problem starts.The call log shows the correct number but when call is received the same number is shown.This continues till the phone is reset. But it reverts back to the same issue after some time.I thought this was a problem with the phone and changed Handset and SIM card also, but still the problem came back after a couple of months. My service provider is not able to help me. I tried updating the software in the old phone but still the problem was there.This is driving me crazy since there are many calls I dont want to attend.

I've gone through the profile settings and alerts menus, and they all have vibrate set to OFF under the Silent profile. Battery pull has no effect. Anything else I should try?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Be on a call and all of the sudden the other side cannot hear anything you're saying but you can still hear them. This can happen when you first answer the phone or while you're in the middle of a call. I already got a device replacement and it's still doing the same thing. I only have this problem with 9780 and never with the 9700. I hate to have to downgrade back.

I managed to drop my phone into a glass full of a virgin margarita. I think it was made with a bit of sugar too.
I took out the battery and then I left the phone to dry in rice. Now I tried to turn it on but it doesn't turn on. When I plug it into the wall charger the red light just keeps blinking. I decided to take the phone apart and when I did everything was really sticky so I cleaned it up with a bit of rubbing alcohol.
Is there anything else I can do to get this to work?
Hi I have an unlocked bb bold 9000 originally from rogers. I am currently using it on fido and it seems to have a weak signal strength thus, my calls are usually dropped or failed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and I quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which I did.
Before I cleaned it, I turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems I need to reinstall the os, even though it wont stay on long enough to connect through usb? Is there anything else you guys think I should do? I have read somewhere to dip the whole phone into the alcohol then leave for a few days to dry?
For the last few days all of my calls are breaking up on incoming and outgoing. At first I thought that it was the other person that I was talking to but after doing many calls, it is my phone.Is there anything I could do to get this problem solved?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my blackberry a week ago and dropped it for the first time and now it has white lines on it.It's the bold 9700, i can slightly see the screen but there are a lot of white lines which makes it hard to see anything. I can really only see the top of the screen where the volume options are but it appears to be black and white.
It is still working fine the screen is just hard to see. I think it might be a connection problem?Any advice? and do you think RIM will replace it if I send it in? I'm on Rogers and live in Canada
Guys having a problem with the Visual Voicemail - I set it up last night and this has never been an issue before withthe previous 9700's. now everytime Im on a call and I get the VM notification It drops the call im on.When I try to view the messages I cant even see it in the Message folder?! guess this is the infamous SMS bug?

And then if i try to check the call history, it doesn't show up, instead it shows all the contacts from address book. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.

A color coding system would be ideal, where messages from one email would be a different color or something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a 9790 from Telus and I have noticed that it is randomly losing sound on outgoing and incoming calls. With outgoing calls it dials out fine and connects to who I am calling but I don't hear the ringing when the call goes out and I can't hear the person on the other end when it connects. When I receive a call I hear my ringtone but when I answer it I can't hear the person on the other end.The only way I can talk to someone when it is acting like this is to switch from headset mode to speaker.I played around with my phone and sound but could not find a fix. The only thing that works is a battery pull but even that is only temporary. So far the longest I can go is two days before I have to do another pull.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or should I just take the phone back and get a new one? I've heard this is actually an issue with the 9790 so I am a bit worried about replacing it when it could happen again.
My Bold 9780 is having troubles with incoming and outgoung calls, almost everytime the phone freezes and I have to remove battery to restore funtioning.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my new bold a month ago and have been having issues with the audio ever since I got it. I cannot hear when placing calls or when receiving. The caller can hear me but unless it's on speaker I cannot hear them. I've tried rebooting, network refresh, updating the software to 7.1 and it works for a little while and then back to not hearing anything.
