BB Bold 9700 :: Dropped Phone No Sound Now?
Apr 12, 2010I have a problem i dropped my phone and it landedo n the back.after few hours the sounds is totally off
any suggestions please.

BB Bold 9700 :: Phone Dropped Into A Cup Of Tea / Keep Booting After Restart
Aug 19, 2010About a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and I quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which I did.
Before I cleaned it, I turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems I need to reinstall the os, even though it wont stay on long enough to connect through usb? Is there anything else you guys think I should do? I have read somewhere to dip the whole phone into the alcohol then leave for a few days to dry?

May 3, 2010I managed to drop my phone into a glass full of a virgin margarita. I think it was made with a bit of sugar too.
I took out the battery and then I left the phone to dry in rice. Now I tried to turn it on but it doesn't turn on. When I plug it into the wall charger the red light just keeps blinking. I decided to take the phone apart and when I did everything was really sticky so I cleaned it up with a bit of rubbing alcohol.
Is there anything else I can do to get this to work?

Aug 27, 2012I have a BB9700 smartphone i bought in bangkok. Now I'm using it in Australia. The calls incoming from Private Numbers (the nos that are not listed) are getting cut off. It gets disconnected automatically after the 1st ring. I have not used call barring.

Feb 5, 2010So i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!
BB Bold 9700 :: White Lines On Screen After Being Dropped For First Time
Sep 6, 2010I got my blackberry a week ago and dropped it for the first time and now it has white lines on it.It's the bold 9700, i can slightly see the screen but there are a lot of white lines which makes it hard to see anything. I can really only see the top of the screen where the volume options are but it appears to be black and white.
It is still working fine the screen is just hard to see. I think it might be a connection problem?Any advice? and do you think RIM will replace it if I send it in? I'm on Rogers and live in Canada
BB Bold 9700 :: Getting Dropped Calls / Call Fail / Cannot Access Server?
Feb 21, 2010I recently upgraded to the 9700 with Tmo in December. Coming from an 8900 I thought it would truly be an "upgrade". Since getting the 9700 i have had more dropped calls, call fail, can not access server etc. The phone will even go into a soft reset mid call, text or email for no reason. I called tmo and the replaced the phone and sim card. it worked well for about a day or two and BAM same crap. I am not so sure its the phone anymore. Some people i talk to say it is TMO service but i have never had this problem before and have been with tmo for 3 yrs.any suggestions /advice?

Feb 8, 2010Guys having a problem with the Visual Voicemail - I set it up last night and this has never been an issue before withthe previous 9700's. now everytime Im on a call and I get the VM notification It drops the call im on.When I try to view the messages I cant even see it in the Message folder?! guess this is the infamous SMS bug?

Jun 4, 2012i've had my iphone 4s for about half a year now and the sound coming out of the built-in speaker has been working fine until today. i didn't do anything out of the ordinary. i just opened up a video from Internet and noticed the sound was considerably less clear than usual. when i use earphones, the sound is crystal clear but when it comes out of the speaker, it's very scratchy and fuzzy. earlier today it was working fine. rebooting my iphone didn't help. i don't know if it's a firmware problem as i updated to 5.1.1 as soon as it was availible.

Sep 7, 2011I no sound on my bb bold 9700. No ring tones, alerts, no keypad sounds, even the speaker phone is low. I have the volume on high. I've checked my sound icon and everything is set to loud and no sound comes out.

I put it in rice for about 2 and a half days, and the sound and touch works (I can even unlock it and answer the phone), but I see not a thing on the screen. It's plain black. I still have it in the rice, but is there anything i can do to save it?

Jan 30, 2010I've noticed that when I receive a MMS message with sound, it default to mute and I am not able to hear it. On the old bold (9000), I was able to change the volume or make it mute right on the message. This doesn't give me an option to change the volume.I checked in my settings and there is nothing that looks wrong.

Mar 26, 2010My sound profiles are all jumbled up-- I.e. I messed around too much. I want to know how to reset to Factory Sound Profiles. I have tried wiping all data and only restoring contacts and that doesn't seem to work. For instance, after a full security wipe, my Normal Profile will have my Emails silent, SMS normal, and BBM new messages as silent.

Sep 17, 2010Last week I posted issues I was having getting into my phone after multiple attempts to down load Ver 2.0 of Docs2Go all of which failed.Well having managed to get back into my phone via desktop manager I was able to remove the offending application which enabled me to use the phone again.
I had to re-install the OS and then restore from a backup, however now I receive no email notification sounds. I'm only receiving visual led notifications due to having berrybuzz loaded as this also stopped working.All the profiles are correctly set and the sound is turned on in each, yet I'm unable to receive an audiable warning of new emails.

Mar 26, 2010Every 24hrs, i keep getting this same problem on my blackberry 9700 bold (vodafone UK).I only realise it when someone rings me, or sends me a text, etc. - regardless of sound selected for any alert (from incoming call to sms to email etc) it just plays 3 beeps (which is definately an alert sound i recognise, but I can't identify which one it is. But its definitately on the list on the phone)So I try to select my ringtone and click 'Try It', and it says the following:"Invalid ringtone selected; please make another selection."Anyways, the problem goes away for a few hours after doing a battery pull. Then it comes back again.I also have BerryBuzz installed (if this at all makes any difference whatsoever)

Having the same issues as everyone else for the dropped calls, SMS, etc.I am also having a small issue with the New Message Inditcators.When I get a new email, I can go to the main message folder which shows all the messages. If I view it there, the new message indicator for that folder disappears, but it stays on the other folder (gmail, SMS, etc). Is there a way to get it to clear like on my old Curve? Also, want help with changing the sound for my voicemail notifier. I can't find it anywhere in my sound profiles. Can anyone find it? I want to change it.

Jan 6, 2010This is driving me nuts. In setting up my profiles, it looks like there are even more options then there were on my 8320. When in 'vibrate' mode, I want my phone to vibrate ONLY, whether to notify me of a phone call, instant msg, email, sms, whatever. But, when my phone is in the holster, it will vibrate and then ping with a sound alert. I was awakened at 4am this morning because my phone was in the holster on vibrate on my dresser and an email came in.I've checked my settings a dozen times and can't figure out how to get it to NOT ping. The settings for 'play sound' are only 'in holster', 'out of holster', and 'always'. There's no 'never' option.
