So I've done my best to find a solution to my custom sound profile problems,but I can't seem to find any similar posts. On my 9700 the default sound profile overrides the custom profile. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be the opposite correct? What am I missing or not understanding?
View 4 RepliesMy sound profiles are all jumbled up-- I.e. I messed around too much. I want to know how to reset to Factory Sound Profiles. I have tried wiping all data and only restoring contacts and that doesn't seem to work. For instance, after a full security wipe, my Normal Profile will have my Emails silent, SMS normal, and BBM new messages as silent.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Phone does not ring, does vibrate, sound profile is set to "Phone Calls Only. Did a hard reboot (removed & reinserted battery), did not change the problem.

BlackBerry, you press one button and BAM, done, android, it gives me the volume keys to change notifications, does this mean if I turn the phone notification volume up, im going to be spammed with beeps and pings from email and messaging?
i have had my curve for just over a week and it has been working fine, however i went to change the sound profile from normal to silent, and when i click on the icon (either from the front sceen or from the menu) nothing happens.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe need to be able to set up a silent profile while in Bedside Mode that allows sounds from selected contacts to come through. The "Play Sound: Always" for selected contacts should override any and all profiles set. In my case what I'm trying to do is to receive notifications or sounds from my family while the device is charging and in bedside mode but ONLY from them. I set a "Sleep" profile that is silent with the selected contacts to ring Always and it doesn't work.

Ihave turned my phone off completely, taken out battery and put back in, & still nothing. I spend lots of time in places where you're not supposed to have ringing on, I need at least vibrate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently been getting problems with the profiles it makes a sound for everything except emails. I used to be able to fix this with a battery pull and it might work for maybe 2 or 3 hours but now its just reffusing to work at all I'm running 8900/5.0.0.238.
Last night out of nowhere, I started receiving texts with a different ringtone than I usually do. When I went into the sound profiles (I have mine at "normal"), the old settings were still applied, however, when I checked out my contacts, they had all been set to another tone. I usually have them set at "gung **" but all my contacts had been changed to "sanguine".When checking the ringtone for my calls, I noticed that all my contacts had been changed to "classic ringtone" when the sound profile I had my phone on had a custom ringtone.
I don't mind that the texts ring a different sound but I really can't stand the classic ringtone sound so I wanted to know if anyone can help me with this? My phone seems to be working find except for that part. I tried a battery pull already..no help. I read somewhere that I might have to delete all my contacts and put them in again with custom tones for each person, but that seems like a huge waste of time. Help, please!
This may have been answered before But i have searched and not found the answer I was looking for. Can anyone tell the point of having the edit profiles option on the Storm 2? Because it doesnt play what I select. Is there an easier way to get my phone to play the selected ringtones for the appropiate notifications other than going to EACH and Every contact and changing it? Hopefully ive explained this well enough to understand.

One thing I noticed was that on the old curve, you could temporarily inactivate a sound profile for a contact. I used this functionality somewhat frequently and it doesn't appear that the same is present on OS 6.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.
We have the set of default ringtones from both Windows Phone and Nokia pre installed and those from Insider app. I made many custom ringtones, but none of them has the quality and sound that of preinstalled or Insider ringtones. I tried with Mp3 at 320 bit rate and as well as WMA. What is the best format for the custom ringtone which can match with the pre installed one???? without this info the custom ringtones are waste of time..............

I recently set my phone to the "loud" profle and it seems to have the same setting as the normal profile which I originally customized. Is there a particular reason for that? I was under the impression that each profile could be customized individually.
I have the latest Apple IOS installed. 7.1.1. I have one music album on my Iphone 5S. Now before I ever put music on any of my Iphones I have owned I never ever had this problem. But for some reason the Music App that apple gives us always overrides any other App I have bought that generates sounds or music or well anything that deals strictly with making sounds in general.Â
I have an App installed that I use to fall asleep to at night, it plays a bunch of different ocean wave sounds for a period of time that I set anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours. I dock my phone at night on my clock which is an Ihome clock. Now it doesn't seem to matter if I dock my phone or not it happens even when it's undocked so the Clock is NOT the issue.Â
Here's what happens. Step 1 I close all the apps running on my phone, yep I double tap the home button and swipe UP each and everyone one till they are gone. Step 2 I turn on my sleeping sounds app. Step 3 I hit play. Step 4 I hit the flat botton on top of the phone to turn off the screen, while the sleep sounds are going. The sleep sounds continue to play after this happens.Â
Now here' the kicker, before putting the music on my phone those sounds would keep on playing till the apps time ran out, I usually set it for 2 hours. Yah it takes me a while to fall asleep some nights and others not as long. After I put a music album that was purchased from Itunes on my phone, well about 2 minutes after I turn off the screen the Sleep sounds stop and all goes silent, then 30 seconds later that music album starts playing. I try pausing and closing, I've tried just pausing the music where it's at and hitting play on the sleep app again, I've messed with the Do Not Disturb settings and I still can NOT get the MUSIC to stop overriding my sleep app. Â
I mean I want my sleep APP at night not the MUSIC. Where are the Music controls to tell it to NOT override other apps that play sounds?Â
I have the BlackBerry 8520, how is it a theme download BlackBerry App World block my profile on silent mode even if I put in vibrate profile?

I already tried a RIM support solution that calls for clearing a corrupted profiles database. It helped for a few days. Now the issue is back, and today it even made all my LED alerts turn to off.
A friend of mine is having the same issue. We both use the Bold with TMO's stock OS.
I just got the blackberry style, and before I realized that you could create a custom profile setting for the ringtones, I messed with the NORMAL setting and changed it all around. Is there a way to change it back to default or can someone tell me what its supposed to be at so I can change it back to where its supposed be and then I'll create my own custom setting?
