I've recently been getting problems with the profiles it makes a sound for everything except emails. I used to be able to fix this with a battery pull and it might work for maybe 2 or 3 hours but now its just reffusing to work at all I'm running 8900/5.0.0.238.
So I've done my best to find a solution to my custom sound profile problems,but I can't seem to find any similar posts. On my 9700 the default sound profile overrides the custom profile. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be the opposite correct? What am I missing or not understanding?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI noticed when I have my phone on quiet profile I don't get the email notification LED flashing. I looked at the profile and I can't see why it doesn't flash. It does seem to work fine in the normal profile.Any suggestions what to look for?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night out of nowhere, I started receiving texts with a different ringtone than I usually do. When I went into the sound profiles (I have mine at "normal"), the old settings were still applied, however, when I checked out my contacts, they had all been set to another tone. I usually have them set at "gung **" but all my contacts had been changed to "sanguine".When checking the ringtone for my calls, I noticed that all my contacts had been changed to "classic ringtone" when the sound profile I had my phone on had a custom ringtone.
I don't mind that the texts ring a different sound but I really can't stand the classic ringtone sound so I wanted to know if anyone can help me with this? My phone seems to be working find except for that part. I tried a battery pull already..no help. I read somewhere that I might have to delete all my contacts and put them in again with custom tones for each person, but that seems like a huge waste of time. Help, please!
For the last two weeks my curve is showing I have 6 unread email messages yet I have none.I searched the forum and it's not call logging as I had that turned off.Anybody have an idea what's causing this? I have double checked all my email accounts all to know avail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking for some help with one of our customer's phones. They have a Blackberry 8900 on T-Mobile and are unable to reply to certain emails. Recently, their email accounts were reset, due to a configuration error on T-Mobile's end. When we set her email accounts back up, her old emails are stored on the device in the messages folder but she is unable to reply to anything prior to the accounts getting messed up. New emails sent to her device are not a problem, those reply just fine and she is able to forward the old messages, just not reply to them.
She is running the latest device software for the 8900, I believe 4.5, we have resent service books and spoken in depth with T-Mobile's technical care department. No one seems to know how we can get this corrected so she can reply to her old emails.
I am having trouble receiving and keeping emails. BT yahoo is my main web mail address, although I now open everything in windows mail, but my blackberry is not receiving anything at the moment. This has been an on going problem and I don't know where the fault lies, sometimes I receive emails, but then they disappear once opened, or I don't receive them at all!

Before I moved all my email accounts over to the new phone, I apparently set up my Gmail account on the phone wrong. At any rate, I keep getting my Gmail messages via SMS message. It's driving me crazy! It shows the sender as "700."

I really want to be able to send the video to family and it is of course too big to email from the phone. I tried installing VLC, but it didn't work that way either. Does anyone know how to fix this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post on the forums, but I do think I'm a fairly knowledgable BB user. Had 3 BBs over the course of a few years, so I can usually rectify small problems as they arise. However I've recently come across something that I am not sure how to solve, or maybe it is not fixable- I do not know.Basically my phone has been making a constant heartbeat sound when I make or receive calls. Doesn't matter if it is on speakerphone, or the normal phone. Its also not just a slightly annoying noise in the background, it cuts off the person on the other end and breaks up their speech. Essentially kills any phone conversation because I cannot understand the other person. I am not sure if the other person can hear me or not. This has been going on for about 3 days now, and is very irritating.I would like to find a way to fix it rather than get a new one. My old pearl's trackball died, so I had to get a new phone, which led me to the 8900. The keyboard on that quit working, so I got a new 8900, which was luckily just under the one year warranty. Now this one is having this problem, but its just a few weeks outside the stupid 3 month warranty on replacements. I'm fed up with ATT and BB because of these device failures, and also because ATT never provided me with my $100 rebate, even after complaining to corporate.It's just a situation where I feel robbed in a way, and just want to find a way to get my current phone to work thru the rest of my contract so I can upgrade to a better device.Any suggestions of how to rid myself of the heartbeat noise? I'd really appreciate it.

A couple of weeks ago I slept through my alarm, at least that's what I thought had happened. When I woke up some time later, there was a notification that I had missed an alarm. It seemed strange, since I've never not been woken by the sound of an alarm before.
The alarm worked fine for the six months before that, and has been working fine for the last few weeks.
Today I was awake before my alarm went off. I then watched my phone screen light up with the alarm, but no sound. I turned off the alarm and waited for my backup alarm. Same thing - no sound.
I did not have Do Not Disturb mode turned on. I almost always keep my phone on silent, and the alarm has always worked. I'm using the default Samsung clock/alarm app.
If it's as simple as using a different alarm app, that's an easy fix, although it doesn't leave me with much faith in Samsung. My concern is that it's a system issue. Unfortunately since it seems to be a sporadic issue, testing the alarm isn't going to tell me definitively if I've been able to fix the issue. Unless I can identify exactly what is causing the problem, I'm going to have to buy a dedicated alarm clock because I can't risk missing an alarm again.
I have recently been configuring all the sounds on my phone so that when I am asleep in bed I am not woken up by various vibrations or notification sounds. With this in mind, I also wanted to ensure that if I was called up in case of an emergency then I would still hear my phone ringing.Because of this, I don't want to mute my phone or have to remember to change settings each night (which is annoying on it's own!) So, I now have everything working as I would like with the exception of new mail. I have set the sound to none - which I am sure used to work. As previously this stops the vibration however now, it still makes the 'ding' when new mail comes in. Surely if I set the 'New Mail' sound to 'none', then this is what should happen. So, what am I missing? There doesn't appear to be a setting in the notification section for muting the notification sound. I am using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1

How do I differentiate the notification icon from a SMS/MMS and a eMail? Its not a huge issue but is a bit of a annoyance. I've seen it but cant figure it out. I'm running on O.S. 5...314.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently had to reformat my 8900 and for some reason after setting up my gmail account i an receiving one copy of each email in my gmail folder and also recieving another copy of the same email in my messages folder. this means that i really am recieving 1 in the email folder and 2copies of the same email in the messages folder. i am using BIS and have tried deleting and re-adding the email account and also resending the service books. i tried looking around but couldn't see the same problem which makes me think it's something simple I'm missing. it's nothing to do with sent messages which i have no problems with.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOnly now are they not syncing up with my computer view of my email account. I tried disabiling and reenabiling the settings with no luck. I also keep getting the same few emails multiple times- like 12 times, each with a half hour in between. I thought this was a security issue with my email account so I changed my password, but no such luck. I attempted to find a way to contact Gmail and Blackberry directly, thinking it might be a problem on their ends, but I failed at finding a way to communicate with a Gmail or a Blackberry rep directly.

When it's unlocked there is no problem and the alarm is sounding.
But when it's locked it does only display an information about the alarm on the screen, but no sound :smileysad: How can I fix that? I'dont want to get too late too often!

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust bought the Bold 9700 on Thursday and was busy setting it up over the weekend. When I actually had my kids call the phone to make sure I had set up the ringtones, LED, and vibrations correctly I noticed that everytime someone was talking the speaker will vibrate with the voice coming from the speaker. Doesn't do it when you have it on speakerphone - there is not vibration noise from the voicemail voice or from anyone's voice, but if you have the actual phone up to your ear using it normally, the speaker makes a vibration sound/noise when the person calling you talks. Even when I place the call to them and they talk I still get that vibration noise. I have also tried lowering the volume, but the vibration is still there even though the voice is not very loud. Is this normal for this phone? Or is this a faulty phone that I should get replaced? I had a Bold 9000 and never got that vibration when someone was talking to me on that phone. But I thought I would see if anyone had heard of this problem and might think it is just the particular phone I got and not all Bold 9700s.

It sounds like when someone has the volume too high & the person on the other end is shouting but I don't have the volume very high at all & can still hear the noise. It doesn't sound this way on speakerphone, only when I hold the phone to my ear.
