I noticed when I have my phone on quiet profile I don't get the email notification LED flashing. I looked at the profile and I can't see why it doesn't flash. It does seem to work fine in the normal profile.Any suggestions what to look for?

I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.

Have check the Firewall setting and it has block anything. Have check all the email folder but no joy, didn't set any email filter.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently been getting problems with the profiles it makes a sound for everything except emails. I used to be able to fix this with a battery pull and it might work for maybe 2 or 3 hours but now its just reffusing to work at all I'm running 8900/5.0.0.238.
The Pearl had a button for changing the profile to quiet/vibrate without unlocking the keyboard, but I cannot find such a button on the 8900?

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAbout 6 weeks ago I went out, dropped my phone and the next day I noticed the ringer wasn't working. I pulled the battery after I had no idea what else to do and the ringtones/notifications worked again. However about every 5 or 6 days the same thing happens and I have to pull the battery. I also noticed that when I check the ringtone options whenever the ringtones fail the BB says "invalid ringtone, please choose anther ringtone"could it be that the loudspeaker is loose? It's not busted because it works most of the time and a battery pull seems to solve the issue.Just now I had to pull the battery again to get the ringtones sounding.

My sim works in the phone fine but I am unable to set up my email as it says there is one already set up. Im no longer in contact with my colleague and not sure what to do. Last week I upgraded my 8900 to 5.0.0.900 OS and since then my profiles haven't been working right. Mainly SMS/MMS. I have set up a few personal "Contact Alerts", like I have always done, but the specific Ring Tones for messages are not working. It follows the specific profile I am on and not the exception I have established that should overwrite the profile being used. I have had no problems with older BB OS!I have my phone on silent at night but have a specific "Contact Alert" set up for family members that will ring through no matter what. Phone calls ring through fine. It's just SMS/MMS that do not seem to follow the exception "Contact Alert". have even blown away all my personal contact alerts and started over and have checked each setting over and over - but nothing works.

They have already setup an email address (hotmail) on the phone - how do I delete it and change it to mine? When I try to connect to o2email.co.uk or myo2 through my blackberry, i'm getting "Error! Your account has been suspended, please contact the system administrator". I've contacted o2, and they've told me to download service packs from o2email... Which I can't connect to via my handset. Anyone know if theres a way to have them sent to my handset from a computer? I can't connect to o2email from my PC browser either.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had my curve for over a year now on my Orange contract. I have just been given a new Sim Card by my company. This Sim card is with Vodafone. I got my phone unlocked and the new Sim card is working fine for everything but emails. There isnt even an option to set-up the email accounts!!
I contacted Vodafone and they said that the phone had already been registered with an email server. Which it has beacause i was using it with my other Orange contract. All they could suggest was buying a new handset!! But surely that means if anyone sells their blackberry handset, the new owner wont be able to use email, this cant be right.

I've done the validation thing countless times and it NEVER accepts the password. The only way I can get it to work is go to Yahoo and set a new password on my email account. Then I need to get on my 8900 and "validate" with the password.Why do I have to change my Yahoo password to get this to work? I know my password is correct because I got to Yahoo on my laptop, login, and enter the correct password and the email comes up.
