BB Curve 8900 :: No Email LED Notification In Profile?
Jan 25, 2010
I noticed when I have my phone on quiet profile I don't get the email notification LED flashing. I looked at the profile and I can't see why it doesn't flash. It does seem to work fine in the normal profile.Any suggestions what to look for?
I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.
My blackberry can send and receive new email/message, but I can't read any new email/message in my inbox even the email notification shown there are 17 new message in my inbox. Have check the Firewall setting and it has block anything. Have check all the email folder but no joy, didn't set any email filter.
I've recently been getting problems with the profiles it makes a sound for everything except emails. I used to be able to fix this with a battery pull and it might work for maybe 2 or 3 hours but now its just reffusing to work at all I'm running 8900/5.0.0.238.
Bought a used Curve with no instruction manual. Sounds very echoey and hard to hear others/for others to hear me, almost like a speakerphone but it isn't. Also, how do I set profile for alarm clock notification only?
I have noticed that after receiving an SMS, the LED blinks blue for 15-20 minutes and then stops even though I haven’t read/opened the SMS. Is there any way to make it blink until the time I open/read the SMS?
How do I differentiate the notification icon from a SMS/MMS and a eMail? Its not a huge issue but is a bit of a annoyance. I've seen it but cant figure it out. I'm running on O.S. 5...314.
I'll try to explain best I can. Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.
About 6 weeks ago I went out, dropped my phone and the next day I noticed the ringer wasn't working. I pulled the battery after I had no idea what else to do and the ringtones/notifications worked again. However about every 5 or 6 days the same thing happens and I have to pull the battery. I also noticed that when I check the ringtone options whenever the ringtones fail the BB says "invalid ringtone, please choose anther ringtone"could it be that the loudspeaker is loose? It's not busted because it works most of the time and a battery pull seems to solve the issue.Just now I had to pull the battery again to get the ringtones sounding.
My colleague had a blackberry curve 8900 and this was then passed to me as he left the company. My sim works in the phone fine but I am unable to set up my email as it says there is one already set up. Im no longer in contact with my colleague and not sure what to do. Is there any way of renewing this? When I go to email setup it doesnt have the option of create new email.
Last week I upgraded my 8900 to 5.0.0.900 OS and since then my profiles haven't been working right. Mainly SMS/MMS. I have set up a few personal "Contact Alerts", like I have always done, but the specific Ring Tones for messages are not working. It follows the specific profile I am on and not the exception I have established that should overwrite the profile being used. I have had no problems with older BB OS!I have my phone on silent at night but have a specific "Contact Alert" set up for family members that will ring through no matter what. Phone calls ring through fine. It's just SMS/MMS that do not seem to follow the exception "Contact Alert". have even blown away all my personal contact alerts and started over and have checked each setting over and over - but nothing works.
I use 9550 OS 5.0.0.1015, I installed Facebook 1.9. Everything works fine. But after I reboot or pull out the battery Facebook notification disappear from profile setting. I try to uninstall then re-install again, but after another reboot ar battery pull, it happens again.
I'm trying to set up a yahoo email account on a Curve 8900 running OS 4, but when I go to Setup and Email Settings, all I get is the message "Your device had a problem connecting to the server". I'm based in Ireland and have eircom broadband. My wireless router is a Netopia with WEP encryption but no authentication (Open security).
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to Blackberrys so can someone please help me! I bought a second hand unlocked phone (8900 Curve) on the Orange network off a friend. They have already setup an email address (hotmail) on the phone - how do I delete it and change it to mine? Also, I'm on Pay As You Go (Orange network)... can I still use and download apps from app world? What limitations are there for Pay As You Go? And how do I buy an internet plan for Pay As You go - is there like a £5 a month thing I can buy from Orange? Quite a few questions there.
I'm having trouble setting up email on my blackberry, when i use the set up wizard it wants a code from a central server. Also the PIN - what is it? and whats it for?
This may have been answered before But i have searched and not found the answer I was looking for. Can anyone tell the point of having the edit profiles option on the Storm 2? Because it doesnt play what I select. Is there an easier way to get my phone to play the selected ringtones for the appropiate notifications other than going to EACH and Every contact and changing it? Hopefully ive explained this well enough to understand.
When e.g. the ringtone volume is changed it is saved within the current profile, but when the sms notification sound is changed it is changed for all profiles.I.e. It is not possible to have different sms notification sounds for normal and meeting. Is this intended?
Right, having some trouble with my phone... been having it for a few months, but its only just started annoying me enough to want to fix it Its through o2, with the blackberry unlimited plan... When I try to connect to o2email.co.uk or myo2 through my blackberry, i'm getting "Error! Your account has been suspended, please contact the system administrator". I've contacted o2, and they've told me to download service packs from o2email... Which I can't connect to via my handset. Anyone know if theres a way to have them sent to my handset from a computer? I can't connect to o2email from my PC browser either.
So I did a battery pull last night, and afterwards I noticed that the icon for my school email folder was different that the normal/stock messages folder (like the folder above it in the picture). I uprgraded to .681 about a week ago, and have done a battery pull since, so is it related to the upgrade?
Many of my emails contain images.I've got my email settings to 'download images automatically' yet whenever an email has images they appear in white with the black lines box around. 'menu click' on the image + click 'get image' and the image downloads and appears.how the bleeding can i get it to show all images without clicking that one every image in an email.
Is it possible that the email accounts we have configured would have their own icons like, Gmail would have its own icon same goes for yahoo and hotmail email, because right now all email accounts have same icons displayed. I have curve 8900 with updated OS 5.0.0.681.
I have had my curve for over a year now on my Orange contract. I have just been given a new Sim Card by my company. This Sim card is with Vodafone. I got my phone unlocked and the new Sim card is working fine for everything but emails. There isnt even an option to set-up the email accounts!!
I contacted Vodafone and they said that the phone had already been registered with an email server. Which it has beacause i was using it with my other Orange contract. All they could suggest was buying a new handset!! But surely that means if anyone sells their blackberry handset, the new owner wont be able to use email, this cant be right.
i just became fan of blackberry. i am trying to set up the email i already have in my yahoo account. I am following the guide and i go to setup email settings. However, there is just the option of "I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server". is there any other way to set up my yahoo account in my device?
I get emails from the donotreply@blackberry.com that tell me I need to validate my Yahoo email. I've done the validation thing countless times and it NEVER accepts the password. The only way I can get it to work is go to Yahoo and set a new password on my email account. Then I need to get on my 8900 and "validate" with the password. Why do I have to change my Yahoo password to get this to work? I know my password is correct because I got to Yahoo on my laptop, login, and enter the correct password and the email comes up.
How do I setup an email address on my blackberry 8900? I have the TMobile month to month plan with 1500 minutes/messages and 30MB web. The only setup option I saw was for a work email and it said something about a Blackberry Enterprise activation password??
