So I did a battery pull last night, and afterwards I noticed that the icon for my school email folder was different that the normal/stock messages folder (like the folder above it in the picture). I uprgraded to .681 about a week ago, and have done a battery pull since, so is it related to the upgrade?

I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.

This morning...my usual mailbox icon (the world globe with the little envelope)...was gone...and replaced by a tiny orange collored envelope with a larger "invisible" envelope behind it (only visible when the cursor is rolled over to the icon).Any ideas on how to put it back the way it was? View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently performed a battery pull to re-establish connection with the local EDGE network, and as expected, all the emails that I received while not in contact with EDGE came flooding in. What also appeared was an icon I've never seen before, an orange envelope with a sort or ribbon encircling it, and it only appears in front of the "Email Messages" icon, not the "Messages" or "SMS and MMS" icons, and is not accompanied by the usual tiny envelope icon with the number next to it that appears on the Home Screen whenever I have new messages. I've emptied out the Email folder, but it's still there.

My problem is that I can't find the FB icon anywhere. I've googled this and tried all the solutions (restart phone, remove battery, change theme, show all applications) but to no avail. My sim works in the phone fine but I am unable to set up my email as it says there is one already set up. Im no longer in contact with my colleague and not sure what to do. Is there any way of renewing this? When I go to email setup it doesnt have the option of create new email.
How do I differentiate the notification icon from a SMS/MMS and a eMail? Its not a huge issue but is a bit of a annoyance. I've seen it but cant figure it out. I'm running on O.S. 5...314.

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.

A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but the icon to start it up is missing. I have seen some posts regarding that problem but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (upon trying I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I have installed). I have recently updated OS to 4.6.1.231 (platform 4.2.0.108) so my soft is definitely up-to date. I am clueless as to what to do now.

I found a thread that suggested that I make sure I check all my running apps, which I did and shut down all but the defaults and the icon would still pop up.
