I have recently installed FB 1.6.0.21 through the Desktop Application Loader. I installed this version since I do not have a data plan. My problem is that I can't find the FB icon anywhere. I've googled this and tried all the solutions (restart phone, remove battery, change theme, show all applications) but to no avail. I have a BB Curve 8900 with OS 4.6.1.199.
View 4 RepliesI have a small problem that a lot of users seem to have with BB 8900. A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but the icon to start it up is missing. I have seen some posts regarding that problem but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (upon trying I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I have installed). I have recently updated OS to 4.6.1.231 (platform 4.2.0.108) so my soft is definitely up-to date. I am clueless as to what to do now.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy battery came out, and when I turned my Blackberry Curve 8900 back on , my SMS folder was missing.I was able to find it by:
1. Clicking the blackberry button
2. Clicking messages
3. Clicking the BB button again and scrolling to "View Folder"
There I have options like "browser messages" "facebook messages" "mms inbox" etc.
There are two sections SMS inbox and SMS outbox. I can get to my text messages that way, but its really tedious. If I click on SMS inbox it takes me to what used to be my text screen. When I click the BB button again, there are no "move options"Anyone know how to get it back to being its own icon on the front screen?
I used to have a bb curve 8900 and used bb maps all the time. now I have a bold 9700 and would also like to use my bb maps. For some reason it is listed in my apps when I go to settings, but the icon is no where to be found so I can't ever open it! I use poynt a lot and it uses bb maps to map out my travel, but I can't just open bb maps to do my own route with an address. What is the deal? How can I get the bb maps icon to appear on my "home screen"? It isn't in any of my other folders either
View 6 Replies View RelatedI took the plunge and installed OS 5 on my 8900. I nuked it , did a fresh install, reinstalled apps manually rather than restoring and I restored my data (email, sms, mms, etc). The install went smooth I configured the icon layout and such and seemed ok. As I have been using it I have been having a few issues hat are becoming more and more troublesome to the point I may have to go back to 4.6 even though I really don't want to so I hope I am having either a common problem or a fixable one.
when I put the bb in the cradle to charge and I take it out the screen goes white sometimes. I know from reading old posts that it is a bedside mode problem. I tried bedside mode off but then the keyboard and screen stay lit and that is annoying at night so I put bedside mode back. Is there any fix for either bedside mode or to have everything dim like it was in bedside mode?
when the screen goes off (like from lack of use to save power) and I press any key to wake it up I get what seems like the backlight turning on but the screen is still black. I have to press various keys to wake it up so I can use it again. Is this common and if so is there a fix or a known cause? I might have others but I can't recall them now but these are the 2 main ones.
I've got a Curve 8900 that I want to use purely as a mobile phone; there are several pre-installed files (ringtones and a video (why?) of some artist I've never heard of) that I want to get rid of.Can anyone explain why these files are protected, and whether there is any means of removing them?

What has happened is that I have lost my memo pad completely.and I have tried everything mentioned by anyone on the various sites.I tried the app loader, but the memo pad application does not show up.I tried showing all apps and looked in each folder, but it is not there,Checked in the applications list on the phone and its not there ,even did the "press the D button" after changing the call from home screen thing.the memo pad is so very important for me and I really want to get it installed asap

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Curve 8900 locked to t-mobile which i unlocked with a code purchased via a website, everything is okay and working with the orange sim card apart from the MMS message service with appears to be missing from the menu, updating the software via the update service dose not make any difference, also to access the internet the webNwalk from t-mobile application is still there, although this is not a problem i wondered if there was a way to remove that and find out where the MMS option is.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently performed a battery pull to re-establish connection with the local EDGE network, and as expected, all the emails that I received while not in contact with EDGE came flooding in. What also appeared was an icon I've never seen before, an orange envelope with a sort or ribbon encircling it, and it only appears in front of the "Email Messages" icon, not the "Messages" or "SMS and MMS" icons, and is not accompanied by the usual tiny envelope icon with the number next to it that appears on the Home Screen whenever I have new messages. I've emptied out the Email folder, but it's still there.

Lately (last week or 2) I get the new message icon displayed, but when I open my messages folder the red asterick goes away but the envolpe icon still is there and the count goes up. Currently it says 4 but I do not have any unread emails, nor any unread facebook messages. The only way to 'reset' this is a battrr pull. But then it starts generating again. I just updated 4.6.1.319 hoping this would help but sstill the same problems. If any other info is needed please let me know.
