There's this notification icon in my screen and it looks something like this image I uploaded (that'll be the one right next to the unread message envelope icon). Can someone tell me what that is and how I could retrieve (and eventually get rid of) it?

I have amassed 24 unread emails in my gmail account on my home screen, for which I cannot remove. I have:
1. Deleted all the emails in this account
2. Removed the account and recreated it on the BB
3. Removed the battery
Unfortunately, none of the above has removed the alleged unread emails from my home screen.
I have not sent sms on my bb 8900 for the past three month. Anytime I send it comes with a big red X and says unidentified subscriber. Also, I receive sms on a single folder and with my son (who is one of my contact) as the sender even though the message is from other different contacts.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have just updated the o/s on my blackberry curve today (v5.0.0.681).i have a work exchange email, and i have also added my personal mail account via Setup / Email Settings - the new additional mail address is visible, and i have received an email from the Activation Server confirming, i am also receiving mails from both email addresses.the issue is that the icon for the extra mailbox is not appearing on the home screen, or in any of the folders (up until the o/s upgrade i had no issues and it was always visible) I have taken the battery in and out - any other suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

I looked on bb tech support page and it said something to do with turning 'fixed dialing" off. I cannot seem to access anything to get it back and working again.
