BB Curve :: 8900 Trackball Has Stopped Working?
Jul 25, 2011I have a Curve 8900 which I love but recently the trackball has stopped working. I can't get to my email, bbm, text, browser, etc needless to say it's extremely frustrating, I have cleaned the trackball with alcohol and it seemed to work in the beginning but it doesn't work now. Is there a way to use the keyboard to get to the icons such as email without using the trackball.

May 23, 2010my blackberry curve has stopped working again, this is the third time that the fault has developed and this time it lasted a week, each time the device gets returned I'm assured that the fault has been rectified. So far its had the software upgraded, its also had the keypad replaced and an internal service and its now broken again
I have been onto vodafone and all they can do is repair the device again but there getting nowhere with it as each repair only lasts a week is there anyway I can get this replaced through blackberry as vodafone seem to be completely rubbish at resolving this one. I don't even mind getting a refurbished unit or an older model, just something that works. I have tried redoing the firmware, I have also done numerous battery pulls but I'm getting no luck

Feb 14, 2010I'll tell you there is no water damage or dropping of this phone. Its been workin like a champ up until tonight.. received a call and i couldn't hear anything, speakerphone works as normal, but the ear speaker does not. Anyone care to shed some light on how this could randomly happen w/o dropping or water damage?? Looks like i've got to change the whole midplate now.. which makes me extremely unhappy.

May 11, 2010Im 8900 owner, and im using Hebrew language and running 4.6.1.199 OS.When i got the BB (running Hebrew) the keyboard shortcuts ("R" to reply, "T" for top, etc) worked well, and after a while its just stopped to work.
I tried battery pull, doesnt help.With English the shortcuts works fine, but sometimes after reboot it stop working and then im changeing the language to another>then back to English again and the shortcuts back. (it doesnt work for Hebrew).Anyone can think about something i can do to make the shortcuts work on Hebrew again?

Apr 14, 2011the keyboard and buttons on the side and top on my 8900 simply stopped working, in that they will no longer activate the phone even though I know the phone to be on.The phone is a PAYG handset on Orange, whom I have contacted and was told that because the unit is over 12 months old (18months) I must contact Blackberry. There are unfortunately no support telephone numbers apparent on the site, so this seems to be my only option! This is incredibly annoying as I need to use the phone on a daily basis for email, etc!

May 22, 2010I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

Mar 18, 2012Ever since the leatest update (5.1) my Iphone's sound doesnt work? when i play music the volume button has disappeared and the keys on the side of the phone only turns the "ringer" up and down. Ive also tried double clicking the home button and swiping to that volume control but the nozzle disapeares when i touch it. The strangest thing is when i but headphones in my volume control all comes back ? Ive reset my phone, turned it off and on and restored it using itunes. What is wrong with it?

(incoming email makes a sound, phone rings, text messages make a sound...) However, if I try to use any games/productivity apps or any other apps, there is no sound. I have checked each app and it says the sound is on, so I am really at a loss.Sort of a bummer when you have a timer set to ring after a certain amount of time, and it never makes a sound...

BB Curve 8900 :: Video Transferred To PC But No Sound
Mar 24, 2010I have transferred my videos from my phone to my PC, and the video looks great, but there is no audio. How do I fix this? I really want to be able to send the video to family and it is of course too big to email from the phone. I tried installing VLC, but it didn't work that way either. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sep 18, 2010This is my first post on the forums, but I do think I'm a fairly knowledgable BB user. Had 3 BBs over the course of a few years, so I can usually rectify small problems as they arise. However I've recently come across something that I am not sure how to solve, or maybe it is not fixable- I do not know.Basically my phone has been making a constant heartbeat sound when I make or receive calls. Doesn't matter if it is on speakerphone, or the normal phone. Its also not just a slightly annoying noise in the background, it cuts off the person on the other end and breaks up their speech. Essentially kills any phone conversation because I cannot understand the other person. I am not sure if the other person can hear me or not. This has been going on for about 3 days now, and is very irritating.I would like to find a way to fix it rather than get a new one. My old pearl's trackball died, so I had to get a new phone, which led me to the 8900. The keyboard on that quit working, so I got a new 8900, which was luckily just under the one year warranty. Now this one is having this problem, but its just a few weeks outside the stupid 3 month warranty on replacements. I'm fed up with ATT and BB because of these device failures, and also because ATT never provided me with my $100 rebate, even after complaining to corporate.It's just a situation where I feel robbed in a way, and just want to find a way to get my current phone to work thru the rest of my contract so I can upgrade to a better device.Any suggestions of how to rid myself of the heartbeat noise? I'd really appreciate it.

Background: 2 days ago call history stopped displaying dialed call. today it stopped displaying any in/outgoing calls to. Didn't made any changes to any setting, menu options etc. it just spontaneously stopped working.
in call history/General Options played with the settings. Changed the "Phone List View" from "call log" to name and most recent. Recent calls I made appeared, but when I switched back to the call log setting all that is displayed are calls from Mar. 1 and previous.Troubleshooting performed: changed setting within the Call History/General Options menu. Mar 8, 2010I have a Curve 8900 running v4.6.1.231...I am on an Enterprise Data plan, with emails synched up to both my office outlook email, and my personal yahoo email. At around 11:30 yesterday, my yahoo email stopped sending/receiving/synching with my BB, but my office outlook email is working fine.
I tried to go into Email setup with the setup wizard, to see if maybe I had to delete and re-add my yahoo email account, but after about 60 seconds with a load message "connecting to email settings" I got a message that said "Your devide had a problem connecting to the server" with retry and cancel button - I retried with no avail.Not the most tech savvy person here, but was wondering if this is a problem on my end? Or something on the BB side?
BB Curve 8900 :: Alarm Does Not Sound When Screen Is Locked
May 4, 2010since I've upated my BB 8900 to 5.0.0.592 (official release of my provider), the alarm clock is not ringing when the phone is locked.
When it's unlocked there is no problem and the alarm is sounding.
But when it's locked it does only display an information about the alarm on the screen, but no sound :smileysad: How can I fix that? I'dont want to get too late too often!

Jan 4, 2010Today I noticed out of nowhere that my led indicator no longer works for any types of msgs. I am running Berry buzz on my 8900 so i thought maybe it was that....i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no alerts are working still.
Of course, i initially tried a battery pull...and when i put the battery back in the led went red so i know its not burnt out or anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Im thinking of jumping from os .250 to the 5.0 os but im concearned about berry buzz working. Thats my most important app.
