After the first day, the external speaker stopped working. I can hear sound via the earbuds, but it does not ring, nor have any audible notifications. Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Imagine having a phone that doesn't ring for over two weeks.
View 3 RepliesSo there I was, watching video on my iPhone 4s without the headphones in when all of a sudden there was no sound coming out of the right side speaker! I tried to clean the speaker with no luck. I powered the phone off and on, I reset the phone to the factory settings, I even tried to restore the phone from iTunes via my computer. All attempts to fix this failed, I would also like to add that this phone has never seen a drop of water nor has it ever been dropped on anything harder then a pillow. I treat this phone like a new born baby, so why would my speaker suddenly stop working after two and a half months? I've spent hours on the internet looking for solutions, and it doesn't even appear to have a "mute" option just options to turn sound on/off and up/down.

How can I change it to play through the phone's regular earpiece? I've looked at the Sound settings, and couldn't find anything. Sounds are processed by the phone's default sound app. The volume is controlled through the Media volume control.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently; within the past week, my Maxx is intermittently loosing sound from the external speaker. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the OS, etc... so I took to the internet: [URL]. Pressing on the kevlar cover works for a brief time; but when I am missing calls or notifications, its a little late to be pressing on the back cover to make the speaker connection. I dropped my phone when I first got it (March '12) so the warranty center is going to claim physical damage and charge me full retail for the phone. I can't go for much longer with a phone that doesn't ring.

I plugged my earbuds into my s6. The external sound did not mute, and the no sound came thru the earbuds. What's up. Note: I changed out earbuds, just in case, the first pair were bad.

I missed a call because the phone didn't play the ring tone. I also noticed it doesn't work with speaker phone and pandora does not play music. I tried a factory reset from the settings - privacy menu but it didn't resolve the issue. I have sprint and the phone was purchased from newegg.
I don't believe it! after an hour it randomly started making noises again.. I didn't change a single setting since I gave up an hour ago. Is this thing going to be intermittantly reliable? I mean I have not touched a single thing on the phone and suddenly it started working correctly.
My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.

I have the BlackBerry Style, and am with Telus. I haven't upgraded to the newest OS but I have the one right before the current one. I have lots of free space on my phone and have no other apps than the ones that were installed on default.I have had absolutely no problems with my phone at all since day one, on Febuary 2011, until this evening when I came home from easter dinner and opened my phone (it was at half battery) and it made a beep and all of the displays went black and the keyboard light went off. I tried rebooting with removing the battery and placing it back in but nothing happened. I plugged it into my charger and I got a little red/orange light on the top right corner and left it for a half hour.
I returned after that and opened it to see if it reset and the internal and extrenal screens were black, no light on the keyboard, and the light had gone out when I took the charger out. Thinking it may have just been turned off I tried the power button to no avail, and then tried the battery reset again with the same results. I have tried this a few times now and the closest thing I have had to see it working is on the internal screen a little grey picture in the center of a battery with a lightning bolt in the middle, which is also grey. I assumed that it may have just been dead and was not getting power so I plugged it in when I saw the image and it just stayed like that for another hour until I tried to reset it once again. Nothing seems to be working. It doesn't make any noises or anything, it is almost as if all power to the LCD screens and keyboard is dead, but foor some reason, sometimes the light on the top right corner of the external screen will stay solid.
I bought a Nokia N79 new handset from Nokia Prority Dealer and after two months LCD stopped working. Being in warranty, I got it replaced by Nokia Care. Now, sometimes the external speakers of the mobile phone stop working and for the same, I went to Nokia care 3 times (infact, this happened thrice) they rectified it, but it has started again. My phone is still in warranty but I am afraid that once the warranty is over, they will start charging for the service. Is there any way to get a new phone from Nokia ?

I bought a X10 mini/pro on the 10th of December. Was working fine, and yesterday the speaker suddenly stopped working. Can't hear the ring tone while there is an incoming call. Can listen to music through the earphone but not via the speaker. The speaker is dead.

My Xperia Mini Pro has just passed 12 months old, it is in pristine condition. Randomly, the speaker has stopped working, it hasn't been dropped or had contact with water. I can use the loudspeaker or handsfree kit but the internal speaker has stopped working. Could it be a software issue or is it likely to be a hardware one?

I contacted HTC and they sent the phone back saying its been water damaged and sent me a picture of red indicator. Now I can confirm that phone has always been its case and never been put in water, there are no signs of water mark etc.
HTC are not listening and I don't have insurance. I have asked customer services to raise it further.
I might be barking up the wrong tree. Is it worth doing anything else, may be contacting Vodafone again.
I have bought the Atrix 4G in February 2012 and my warranty has expired in JuneRecently the earpiece speaker on my phone has stopped working and the local motorola service center advised me to replace the flex cable that houses the earpiece speaker. Can someone let me know where I can procure this flex cable in the US? Is it available for online ordering?

I can hear everything just fine with earbuds or when it is connected to a docking station. I reset all content & settings, powered down several times, tried plugging & unplugging earbuds, as well as cleaning out the earbud connection with compressed air.

I'll tell you there is no water damage or dropping of this phone. Its been workin like a champ up until tonight.. received a call and i couldn't hear anything, speakerphone works as normal, but the ear speaker does not. Anyone care to shed some light on how this could randomly happen w/o dropping or water damage?? Looks like i've got to change the whole midplate now.. which makes me extremely unhappy.

I can not hear it ringing when someone call, but if I see someone calling and I answer the call they can hear me and I can hear them fine. I also can't not put the caller on speaker at all , I also can't hear my music or gaming apps. When I turn my phone on or off it does not make a sound as well. I have turned the phone off and turned it off by pressing the top button and home button at the same time and that did not work. I checked the volume and the mute button and the volume is up all the way.

Since a few weeks I own a Galaxy S6. Great phone, but lately I'm having problems with the internal speaker. Whatever sound played from it, it sounds distorted after a few seconds.
View 17 Replies View RelatedNever noticed this before so im not sure if its normal, but noticed today when i for example shut off a video or i activate the speaker with any other sound, the speaker stays on for 1-2 secs making sort of a hissing sound followed by a small click. Its not a very loud hissing sound. Just wanna make sure its normal and not a faulty speaker.
