Never noticed this before so im not sure if its normal, but noticed today when i for example shut off a video or i activate the speaker with any other sound, the speaker stays on for 1-2 secs making sort of a hissing sound followed by a small click. Its not a very loud hissing sound. Just wanna make sure its normal and not a faulty speaker.

The speaker phone has a LOUD hissing sound whenever I dial out. By "speaker phone", I mean that when I dial a phone number, I click on the "Speaker" button in the dial pad to have a hands free phone call. This is an essential feature for me as I have phone conference meetings where I need to be using the computer and thus need my hands free.
The hissing sound is consistent and remains there for the entire call. When someone speaks it is reduced but when silence comes back, the hissing takes over
In two years of using the 920, I NEVER had an issue with the speaker phone in thousands of conversations, even after I upgraded to Cyan.
However, from day one, the 1520 speaker phone has a background hissing sound. Even with a 4 or 5 bar LTE connection (I live in DFW). Lowering the speaker volume to 5 (from 10), lowers the hissing sound but does not eliminate it.
As there are no audio controls (other than the Equalizer)...
Just noticed today when I was in a quiet room - whenever the camera is in use/on I can hear what sounds like a faint fan-like hum/hiss coming from the camera.

Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Right after I have rebooted my Droid my sound continues when the screen times out.However, somewhere along the way something changes and when the screen times out the sound goes too.
I can't force the sound to stay on when the screen times out after that; unless I got through the tedious process of shutting down and rebooting.
I have to pull the battery or reboot my phone several times a day because my sound just shuts off for no reason. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there new software I need or something?

The device looks good, in terms of design, premium material and overall look and feel. Its just one day, therefore too early to give feedback, although the camera and its features are amazing.
The only issue that I am facing is its boom sound speakers. The sound is very low. HTC M8 & 9 and famous for its boom sound dual speakers, therefore I presume, it should be loud. But in this case the speaker sound its crap. Whether I set mp3 as a ringtone, play mp3 in the music player or play youtube. Its not even closer to my Lumia 930 and my mom's Galaxy S6 edge's mono speakers. I expect these stereo speakers to complete outperform the mono speaker of Lumia and Galaxy smartphone
How can I enhance the sound? I have checked, everything in the settings?
Apart from the GPS giving inaccurate results and no sound through the speaker a rather odd problem has raised it's head.
When I download an app from Google Store or use one of the built in apps and I start to use the app apart from no sound the phone will switch off and restart, however if I plug in the headphones the app will work fine and with sound through the headphones ! except GPS apps.

I recently realized my Nokia lumia 900 can no longer ring,play music, or make any sound what so ever. I tried playing with some head phones and pulling them in and out pausing and unpausing while music was playing which I read in a forum can fix this problem.no luck..i realized there was a small piece of paper/lint in the headphone jack and pulled it out with a toothpick.this is driving me crazy.. Next thing I will try is doing a factory reset...anyone have any ideas or experience with this ?

Now, just this evening I got two calls when I didn't have my headset on and both times I had bad sound quality from the phone itself. I recently downloaded the update for the new software and all was well then suddenly my speaker phone stopped working. As well as my speaker phone the audio output of the speaker itself does not put out any noise. I checked the silent mode switch on the side of the phone as well as the sound settings and all looks as it did when things were working.

However when I turned the speaker phone I could hear everything but Im not sure if the other person could hear me because the call ended. Now no sound comes out of my phone speaker. EXCPET FOR THE TEXT NOTIFICATION. That still goes off and sounds perfectly. So the speakers cant be broken. Also I used the voice commands and it said it could not hear anything.
View 4 Replies View Relatedmine was not a firmware or software mine was simply the earpiece clogged up with dirt & grease.there is a fine wire gauze and it clogs up.it almost totally deadened the sound in a call.remove the front cover using a cheap hex screw remover tool.watch this useful Internet video for help. url...without any electronics attached to the front cover rinse it in a bleach/ hot water solution & soaked for 30min. to dissolve the grease.low pressure compressed air through the back holes helps to finish cleaning out the greasy dirt.rinse in clean water and dry totally before reassembly.my phone has now returned to original perfect volume. phone has been to nokia and returned not fixed so did it myself.

I have an otterbox case on my phone and do not recall dropping it recently. I never use the headphone port so it's not dirty but I cleaned it with a q-tip just for good measure. I don't know what else to try.Â
