So there I was, watching video on my iPhone 4s without the headphones in when all of a sudden there was no sound coming out of the right side speaker! I tried to clean the speaker with no luck. I powered the phone off and on, I reset the phone to the factory settings, I even tried to restore the phone from iTunes via my computer. All attempts to fix this failed, I would also like to add that this phone has never seen a drop of water nor has it ever been dropped on anything harder then a pillow. I treat this phone like a new born baby, so why would my speaker suddenly stop working after two and a half months? I've spent hours on the internet looking for solutions, and it doesn't even appear to have a "mute" option just options to turn sound on/off and up/down.

After the first day, the external speaker stopped working. I can hear sound via the earbuds, but it does not ring, nor have any audible notifications. Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Imagine having a phone that doesn't ring for over two weeks.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy speaker is no longer working on my IPhone 4s; I can't listen to music, hear the phone ring or listen to Siri. I can hear everything just fine with earbuds or when it is connected to a docking station. I reset all content & settings, powered down several times, tried plugging & unplugging earbuds, as well as cleaning out the earbud connection with compressed air.

Ok I have been using my Navigon GPS occasionally and sometimes when the spoken directions are played though the speaker, it's so soft I can barely hear it. So I thought it was just the app. But now, I was just using my phone texting people and all of a sudden the sound became very faint. I can barely hear it. I then went to the iPod app to listen to some music through the speakers and I still can barely hear it. I reset the phone and now everything is working again. Is this normal?
View 11 Replies View RelatedOnly my right external speaker is giving out sound. If I cover it up I can't hear anything. Seem the left speaker isn't given out any sound. Could I have a setting wrong? Or is my speaker broken and as a result need a replacement phone?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a 3G right now, and I wish the speaker were louder. I listen to podcasts through the speaker instead of headphones sometimes.
Does anyone know if the external speaker on the 3GS was louder than the 3G, and if the 4 will be louder than either one?
Those of you who had the 3GS, and especially the 3G, and listened to podcasts or music with the external speaker, is the iPhone 4 speaker louder? Is it clearer?
What are your first impressions? This is one of the things I really hope is improved.
Is there anyway to turn up the external speaker in my iphone 4s, I have the volume up as far as it will go and can barley hear it

My son was playing with my blackberry 8900 phone and when I got it back it would not ring when someone called me and the external speaker would not work when I tryed to listen to them on it. Tryed full reset by removing the battery but, no good , still had same problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn my HTC one speaker up full and either play a game or listen to music, I get a crackling noise coming from the top speaker..
Granted, I will not be listening to music this loud normally, but I want to be sure that my phone is defect free, especially if I would like to sell it in the future.
I've had this phone for 3 weeks. When I turned it on this morning it no longer was able to make noises from its external speaker. I missed a call because the phone didn't play the ring tone. I also noticed it doesn't work with speaker phone and pandora does not play music. I tried a factory reset from the settings - privacy menu but it didn't resolve the issue. I have sprint and the phone was purchased from newegg.
I don't believe it! after an hour it randomly started making noises again.. I didn't change a single setting since I gave up an hour ago. Is this thing going to be intermittantly reliable? I mean I have not touched a single thing on the phone and suddenly it started working correctly.
I've had my e71-1 for only a couple of months now and noticed that it randomly hangs during menu navigation and especially when either trying to make a call or ending a call (most noticeable when 'number busy' is displayed). It can take at least 5-10 seconds for the phone to respond at which point it suddenly cycles through multiple functions due to me having pressed various buttons to try to get it to respond during the hang.I have tried two different firmware versions (400.21.013 and 410.21.010; I'm currently using the latter) and this phenomenon occurs on both. I have not installed any additional apps/games. And the phone has loads of on board memory still free as well as the 8GB memory card that is encrypted despite being virtually empty.I am at a loss trying to get this problem resolved. It's quite annoying saying 'goodbye' to a person and then you can't end the call immediately. I've done a forum search but have not found any way to fix this. Moreover and totally unrelated (I think), there seems to be something wrong with the external speaker on the phone. When I navigate around the menus, the beeps emitted are often crackly. This can also occur when I receive confirmation beeps. Despite this, the quality of the speaker is actually good when it works. The phone hasn't been exposed to any water or even out in the rain so this surely is a build problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a W705 and for the past couple of days the external speaker has stopped working. This means I cannot hear the ring tone, handsfree calls or any music. Also, the headphones which come with the phone stopped working about 2 months ago.PLUS. the charger doesn't always work (it will display the charging icon on the screen, but when I unplug it in the morning it hasn't charged at all. v annoying!). When it DOES say it's charging if you even slightly touch the jack part which is connected to the phone, it thinks it has been disconnected and stops charging (this also happened to my old K6..something, which had the exact same power/headphone socket - so i know this isn't a one-off fault. again, V annoying!). Anyway, the phone was bought unbranded in the UK last Christmas, I live in Cambridge UK and would like to know where I can take the phone to have it repaired or replaced.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or is the external speaker weak on the bionic? I used to have a D1 original Droid which had a great speaker. It seems the one on the bionic is Not as good of quality or as loud.
View 6 Replies View Relatedsome apps, like the music app, no longer display a volume slider. Even when connecting headphones, sounds cannot be heard from the iPhone. Any suggestions? It appears as though it is not only a hardware issue, but also a software one. I have restored my phone twice, with no noticeable effect.

I am using "NAVAR acoustic K850i v0.1 (my mix)" one of the mod driver acoustic for my K850i, I got a quality sound from backspeaker and from my walkman series headset. However I don't get the Loud In-call volume. And when I connect SE MPS-70 speaker to my K850i. I get very low volume. I am getting louder volume in my phone backspeaker than this external speaker.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly I found I was no longer able to play music through any external speaker or headset on my BB Torch. No one seems to be able to solve problem. BB Replaced but same problem. Complete factory reset solves problem but as soon as anything is restored, problem returns. Interestingly, if I make a call the headset works fine. If I play music, go to menu and try to 'activate headset' I get new window with headset and red dot on it. Coupled with this problem I notice if I go to 'set-up' and select 'email accounts' it will not open. I have had to activate all my accounts via my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently; within the past week, my Maxx is intermittently loosing sound from the external speaker. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the OS, etc... so I took to the internet: [URL]. Pressing on the kevlar cover works for a brief time; but when I am missing calls or notifications, its a little late to be pressing on the back cover to make the speaker connection. I dropped my phone when I first got it (March '12) so the warranty center is going to claim physical damage and charge me full retail for the phone. I can't go for much longer with a phone that doesn't ring.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.

Last night, suddenly my keyboard, trackpad and all my external buttons no longer work. Only my touch screen works, but no back button, a BlackBerry is not very useful. It may be software, but I updated yesterday the operating system. But I find it strange that all the external buttons do not work together. What could be the problem. If I have to go to the workshop, I want to know as much as possible.BlackBerry 9800

I can touch the speaker button that then routes the audio to the car speakers but how do I make call audio route to the car speakers by default and not the phones external speaker?
