Eseries / Communicators :: E6-00, Distorted Sound On External Speaker?
Jul 20, 2011
My external speaker sounds distorted when playing music / lound ringing, and when I use it as a handsfree, I can barely understand what the other person is saying. Is it really this bad, or should I take it to a Nokia service centre?
As of the 5th of May, the sound from the speaker and sound jack has had random crackles in any sound that is played, either from someone ringing me, an alarm or just from the music player
mine was not a firmware or software mine was simply the earpiece clogged up with dirt & grease.there is a fine wire gauze and it clogs up.it almost totally deadened the sound in a call.remove the front cover using a cheap hex screw remover tool.watch this useful Internet video for help. url...without any electronics attached to the front cover rinse it in a bleach/ hot water solution & soaked for 30min. to dissolve the grease.low pressure compressed air through the back holes helps to finish cleaning out the greasy dirt.rinse in clean water and dry totally before reassembly.my phone has now returned to original perfect volume. phone has been to nokia and returned not fixed so did it myself.
I bought a Nokia E7 yesterday. My previous phone for E61i. I see that the speaker volume is too low in E7. I have set the volume to max using the volume control but still the volume is too low compared to E61i. I find it difficult to do calls with loud speaker on. I do lot of conf calls and this is very important for me.
I did few video recordings and found that the sound output is sort of metallic.
Yesterday my sound on my Photon became distorted to the point of sounding like a distorted buzz. This includes system sounds and anything else that plays even when I pull out the battery and then boot into safe mode. I thought it may have been due to a bug in an update, but everything is up to date and I don't see any other complaints on this or any other forums. Oddly enough, everything sounds fine using headphones. Maybe it is a speaker/hardware failure, but that would seem very unusual. Everything else seems to be working OK.
For the record, here are the software versions running currently: Android 2.3.4 Kernel 2.6.32.9
After the first day, the external speaker stopped working. I can hear sound via the earbuds, but it does not ring, nor have any audible notifications. Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Imagine having a phone that doesn't ring for over two weeks.
I have now been using my E7 for a few days and I love it, but there is one thing that strikes me. Compared to my N8, where I have crystal clear sound in the speaker, my E7 has low volume and a "metallic" tinge to the sound. I just now made a Skype call and it was the same there.

Recently; within the past week, my Maxx is intermittently loosing sound from the external speaker. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the OS, etc... so I took to the internet: [URL]. Pressing on the kevlar cover works for a brief time; but when I am missing calls or notifications, its a little late to be pressing on the back cover to make the speaker connection. I dropped my phone when I first got it (March '12) so the warranty center is going to claim physical damage and charge me full retail for the phone. I can't go for much longer with a phone that doesn't ring.
How can I change it to play through the phone's regular earpiece? I've looked at the Sound settings, and couldn't find anything. Sounds are processed by the phone's default sound app. The volume is controlled through the Media volume control.
Just to confirm you can get a microphone into a nokia n8/e7. To do this you will need to use a CA-75u which comes with any n series nokia. It is a three way RCA (phono) split giving you a yellow white and red RCA to a 3.5mm (mini) jack.
Once you have your CA-75u you will need to plug your microphone to start with into the red RCA and in the software make sure your default accessory is the headset. Then you plug the mic into the red RCA and then the 3.5mm jack in the top it should ask you which type of connection you want, select headset. Now take the mic and plug it into the into the yellow RCA. Now you can use sound recorder to record from the mic!.
This is obviously a work around and it would be much easier for nokia to produce a microphone interface or even better bring out a usb x/y configuration microphone like the zoom recorders use. Come on nokia give me a new gadget,Some notes about mics and connections into an RCA.Electret mini mics should be fine, but I am personally using a lo impedance condenser microphone which has internal power (battery) such as a AKG C1000 or Audio Technika AT33a I myself am using a sennheiser shotgun from the early 90's.To make the correct connection from an XLR plug to the RCA you will need to create a mono lead the easiest way to do this is to connect the white or cold or pin 3 on the XLR to the screen or pin 1 on the XLR. Then terminate them to to the screen or outer part of the RCA. Then terminate the red or hot or pin two on the XLR to the center of the RCA. Alternatively go to maplins or radio shack and buy one.
My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.
I just bought my E72 a day ago and tried to listen to one of the default videos. Had the volume level on max, even then the sound/music is not /barely audible. Moreover the Talking display also is not actually loud enough to be able to hear from a hands distance.
my nokia e71x recently started giving me a very static-y signal when making or receiving calls. my voice apparently sounds fine to whoever i'm talking to but what i hear in the earpiece is full of static, as if the signal is very weak. this is happening no matter where i am (even in places where i know the signal is strong). i'm in new york city. the speaker appears to be ok when doing other things, e.g. watching video clips on Internet. it's just phone calls that sound **bleep**.this just started in the last few days. it's possible the phone was exposed to heat, sand and (maybe) water as we were recently on vacation, but other than the bad sound everything works and looks fine.my contract is about up so i may just replace it anyway, but i'd like to know if this is fixable. i tried removing the battery and sim card, making sure all were clean and dry and putting them back.
I've hated this phone for a long time now and am patiently waiting until I can upgrade in January, but now on top of everything else wrong with it, the speaker seems to be having a major issue. The other day I got a call, and the ringtone had a loud hissing and distortion sound to it like it has a heavy bass turned all the way up. When I answered, the same thing. You can barely understand the person on the other end because of the distortion when someone talks. It's hard to explain.
I've tried turning down the volume really low, I've changed the speaker settings using the service codes. Nothing has worked. Has anyone else had this problem or do you know if there is a way to fix this yourself? Also, If I take it to an AT&T store can they repair it, and any idea how much it would cost if they could? I really don't want to pay full price for a phone now, but if it's gonna cost a lot to fix this one, I might as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
im having a replacement storm shipped my 3rd from distorted speaker well my questions are what OS is verizon shipping is it still .320 or a better more stable build and second if it still has .320 what OS is the best now im running .428 and dont have any issues besides the sms glitch witch is getting annoying and still not so good battery life so there whats the best out now?
My iPhone 6 Plus is less than a 2 weeks old but since day one its speaker sounds distorted.  The ringer or alerts or even the new email alert have a popping or clangy sound to them. Is this a software issue or hardware? My phone is uptodate and Ive tried hard reboots to try to alleviate the problem but it didn't fix the problem. Should I try to restore it?Â
i bought a Nokia E63 a month ago. Everything is fine but recently sound makes a problem. My phone's ringtone, music, video do not make any sound. kep-pad sound is okay.Icheck my profile (General) and configuration is alright
Today when using the phone on my iphone 4s, I noticed the sound is slightly distorted. It's hard to discribe, but it just doesn't sound as clear and crisp as usual. My wife has an iphone and she listened to it and noticed it as well.
I have a problem with my telephone that I can not mute sound of my camera.Sometimes I should take photos without sound. So I do not want any sound.I know it should be easy but I can not find it in the menus.I search on internet and somebody offer me to install a program for this.
I plugged my earbuds into my s6. The external sound did not mute, and the no sound came thru the earbuds. What's up. Note: I changed out earbuds, just in case, the first pair were bad.
I've recently switched my E66 for a brand new E6-00. As an E66 user, I'm not used to having problems with my phone. Everything changed on the second day of using E6.First, I've noticed, that missed event widget stopped working (with no config changes). Reinstalling the newest software solved the problem. Let's say partly, because "contact search" stopped working (also after turning it off and on again). This time, restoring phone to factory deffaults helped.I've had no problems for astonishing 4 days, when my missed event widget dissapeard again. Luckily, I knew how to repair it. It's enough to download 170MB of software and reinstall it.But it shew up, that my E6 doesn't want to bore me with the same issues. Today, I lost sound on incoming SMSes. I've tried everything, there is in settings with no effect. Please let me know, if you have any suggestions. I'm a Nokia fan, since I have never had any problems witch any of my Nokias.
i just bought my nokia e5 last week. i realized that i cannot turn off the sound when i snap pictures with the camera. i've gone to the settings, it only allows for changed between camera tone 1 to tone 4. No way to turn off the sound at all.
Turned the phone to silent mode, but the camera sound remains. Does anyone know how i can get rid of that sound? (as it is quite irritating)
I have been using nokia e7 for nearly a year now until two days before it suddenly went wrong. There is no sound at all from the speaker no matter I received calls or sms. I found out that when I played songs in the video, there is no sound either. However, I could hear the songs and calling, sms tones ringing when I plugged in my headphone. I have reset it *#7370# but the problem isn't solved. Is the speaker malfunction?
