I plugged my earbuds into my s6. The external sound did not mute, and the no sound came thru the earbuds. What's up. Note: I changed out earbuds, just in case, the first pair were bad.

Thinking I'd screwed up a setting somewhere, I looked all over setup but cannot find anything to enable/disable. Is it me or my phone? Tried different players (I use winamp), different plugs. Did not reset the phone because I've spent considerable time loading and tweaking apps/settings/fonts etc and do not wish to lose all that.

i am thinking about taking either my phone or my dslr on a trip to make steady & moving shots on a monopod. I'd prefer to only take my lumia with me but I wouldnt mind to go with the dslr if the quality was much better. That's why I want to know how those two devices compare in terms of overall video quality. The sound will be recorded using an external mic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I have my headphones plugged in, the music plays both in them and still comes out from the phone. This also happens with conversations... When my headphones are plugged in, the sound from the other person speaking comes out loudly from the phone, so everyone can hear it! This does not happen when the headphones are not connected. Then the sound just comes from the phone, and conversations are more quiet.
I have tried different headsets, earplugs and speakers, the problem is the same with all of them. I have tried looking at the settings, both on my phone and other applications. I have also googled it, and I have tried to restart my phone. And I have checked if they really are inserted correctly. What I can do? I just want to hear my music in piece and keep my conversations for myself.

My iPhone 4s will not play sound unless the headphones are plugged in. I can't hear anything at all without the headphones, not even Siri. I've tried cleaning out the headphone jack, updating my software, closing all open apps, restarting my phone, and plugging the headphones in and out repeatedly, but nothing is working.

I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the OS, etc... so I took to the internet: [URL]. Pressing on the kevlar cover works for a brief time; but when I am missing calls or notifications, its a little late to be pressing on the back cover to make the speaker connection. I dropped my phone when I first got it (March '12) so the warranty center is going to claim physical damage and charge me full retail for the phone. I can't go for much longer with a phone that doesn't ring.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.

Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this.What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle!You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! Strangeness.I have great sound from iTunes, but no sound from any other app, and no ringer from my phone. I have tried drying out the earphone socket with a hairdryer, and plugging/unplugging while listening to an iTunes song - all to no avail. I have checked al my settings, and all I can find are set to make sounds heard. Now I am flummoxed.
