Rather suddenly, plugging in my earbuds doesn't shut off external sound and enable the headphones. Thinking I'd screwed up a setting somewhere, I looked all over setup but cannot find anything to enable/disable. Is it me or my phone? Tried different players (I use winamp), different plugs. Did not reset the phone because I've spent considerable time loading and tweaking apps/settings/fonts etc and do not wish to lose all that.
After the first day, the external speaker stopped working. I can hear sound via the earbuds, but it does not ring, nor have any audible notifications. Did hard reset, soft reset, several times, and still no sound. I have a replacement on order, but they won't have it to me for another week or more! Imagine having a phone that doesn't ring for over two weeks.
How can I change it to play through the phone's regular earpiece? I've looked at the Sound settings, and couldn't find anything. Sounds are processed by the phone's default sound app. The volume is controlled through the Media volume control.
I've noticed that when I receive a MMS message with sound, it default to mute and I am not able to hear it. On the old bold (9000), I was able to change the volume or make it mute right on the message. This doesn't give me an option to change the volume.I checked in my settings and there is nothing that looks wrong.
I have a problem with my telephone that I can not mute sound of my camera.Sometimes I should take photos without sound. So I do not want any sound.I know it should be easy but I can not find it in the menus.I search on internet and somebody offer me to install a program for this.
i am thinking about taking either my phone or my dslr on a trip to make steady & moving shots on a monopod. I'd prefer to only take my lumia with me but I wouldnt mind to go with the dslr if the quality was much better. That's why I want to know how those two devices compare in terms of overall video quality. The sound will be recorded using an external mic.
My external speaker sounds distorted when playing music / lound ringing, and when I use it as a handsfree, I can barely understand what the other person is saying. Is it really this bad, or should I take it to a Nokia service centre?
When I have my headphones plugged in, the music plays both in them and still comes out from the phone. This also happens with conversations... When my headphones are plugged in, the sound from the other person speaking comes out loudly from the phone, so everyone can hear it! This does not happen when the headphones are not connected. Then the sound just comes from the phone, and conversations are more quiet.
I have tried different headsets, earplugs and speakers, the problem is the same with all of them. I have tried looking at the settings, both on my phone and other applications. I have also googled it, and I have tried to restart my phone. And I have checked if they really are inserted correctly. What I can do? I just want to hear my music in piece and keep my conversations for myself.
I also checked this link: [URL] .... but it did not solve my problem ...
My iPhone 4s will not play sound unless the headphones are plugged in. I can't hear anything at all without the headphones, not even Siri. I've tried cleaning out the headphone jack, updating my software, closing all open apps, restarting my phone, and plugging the headphones in and out repeatedly, but nothing is working.
Is anyone else having an issue where their external sound (ringtones, navigation, music, etc) gets distorted and digitized occasionally? It seems completely random and I asked around when I first got my bionic and no one had heard of the issue so I went to verizon and they exchanged the phone for a new one even though they couldn't reproduce it because it's so intermittent but the new one has the same problem.
Recently; within the past week, my Maxx is intermittently loosing sound from the external speaker. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling the OS, etc... so I took to the internet: [URL]. Pressing on the kevlar cover works for a brief time; but when I am missing calls or notifications, its a little late to be pressing on the back cover to make the speaker connection. I dropped my phone when I first got it (March '12) so the warranty center is going to claim physical damage and charge me full retail for the phone. I can't go for much longer with a phone that doesn't ring.
Bought a broken phone off a friend. The phone doesnt do anything when its plugged in(stays black screen) but the computer makes a sound showing a new device is connected. went to itunes and itune say it cant connect because it has a locked passcode. But i cannot enter the code because the screen is black!
My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.
for some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this. What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader. 1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp 2. Currently you can choose the following sounds 1. Camera shutter 2. Bear can opening 3.Tennis ball 4. Laser The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle! You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! I turned off the sound notification for "new mail" because I don't want to hear everytime I get a new email. But I found that when someone sends me an iMessage, there is no sound. How do I make it so I can still get a sound notification for iMessage but not email?
Strangeness.I have great sound from iTunes, but no sound from any other app, and no ringer from my phone. I have tried drying out the earphone socket with a hairdryer, and plugging/unplugging while listening to an iTunes song - all to no avail. I have checked al my settings, and all I can find are set to make sounds heard. Now I am flummoxed.
