Bought a broken phone off a friend. The phone doesnt do anything when its plugged in(stays black screen) but the computer makes a sound showing a new device is connected. went to itunes and itune say it cant connect because it has a locked passcode. But i cannot enter the code because the screen is black!

My screen went black won't come back on when I plug the charger up it makes the sound like its charging but it makes the noise over and over... I have tried restarting the phone and nothing!

I got my refurb in the mail today and the left side of the screen sounds like someone spilled soda under the screen and it dried. So when I type, especially with typing in landscape it clicks and makes this weird sound like there is something sticky under the screen. Anyone else had this issue? I called Verizon and they are sending me another phone overnight...but still...
View 12 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my phone to a blackberry cure 8520 about 3 weeks ago, and I haven't dropped it or anything. It has been very well taken care of. Now the screen is completely black, and its plugged in but the red light doesn't turn on and if I try to turn the phone on nothing happens (No White Screen, No Red Light, Nothing!) Like I said this phone is not very old, and it was working a couple of hours ago and had almost half of its battery power left. The problem happened after I plugged the blackberry in. It was fine until then.

I checked with multiple outlets and it does it for each one. Is this normal and/or safe? I just don't want the charger not be fully charging my battery, and have my overall battery life be affected, and I want to know if it's a safety issue.

First of all iPhone is within 1 year warranty, so when I had this problem before I took it to the apple store and they replaced it as they deamed the rattling noise to be unfixable at that time. My new one has started doing the same HOWEVER this time it has slight scratches around the base of the phone. A 1mm chip on the back... they don't bother me; it's not what I'm getting it replaced again for, it's just the rattling noise when tapped, moved or on vibrate makes my model feel really cheap.

My new phone and my old one both have done this, does anyone have the same problem? And does anyone know why it does this or maybe how to fix it?

I got a new iphone 4 yesterday because my old one had a spring break so the power button wouldn't work. The new phone worked fine for most of the day but last night showed a message saying I needed to plug the phone into itunes again and restore it. I have now tried to restore the phone on two separate computers and both times error message number 1 has shown up with a note saying that apple can not process my request. I am wondering what the number means so that I can fix it and restore my phone. As it is now its useless. Its just a black screen with a charger picture and an arrow telling me to connect it to itunes.

when I have disconnected battery and changed screen, now the screen is just black and the phone just double vibrates constantly when plugged into charger. sk basically screen is like dead, I tried old screen back in and same, but if was v damaged anyway with green screen and lines. But now just get black screen. iTunes recognises if and allowed me to restore but again same problem. Don't know whether to try another new screen.

With this in mind, I also wanted to ensure that if I was called up in case of an emergency then I would still hear my phone ringing.Because of this, I don't want to mute my phone or have to remember to change settings each night (which is annoying on it's own!) So, I now have everything working as I would like with the exception of new mail. I have set the sound to none - which I am sure used to work. As previously this stops the vibration however now, it still makes the 'ding' when new mail comes in. Surely if I set the 'New Mail' sound to 'none', then this is what should happen. So, what am I missing? There doesn't appear to be a setting in the notification section for muting the notification sound. I am using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1

I dropped my Iphone in the sink for about 2 seconds, then took it out and dried it off. It all worked fine but a few minutes later the screen went black. I put it in rice for about 2 and a half days, and the sound and touch works (I can even unlock it and answer the phone), but I see not a thing on the screen. It's plain black. I still have it in the rice, but is there anything i can do to save it?

No one else has this issue and my provider has told me that both towers in the area are working good. When it drops the signal often i will hear a noise that sounds like the camera shutter (click) then it kicks me out to the lock screen.

I wanted to use my Blackberry, so I took it out. I pressed the back button, so my screen would show. The screen was black, so I decided to press the end call button (Red). Still, nothing seemed to light up, the screen was black. So I removed my battery, put it back in. The LED light turned red for a couple of minuets, then turned off but the screen was still black. Tried connecting it to my USB Cable to the computer + the charge cable, but both to no prevail. I then thought maybe my screen is just temporarily bugging, maybe a call would do the trick. I tried calling my phone, but it went straight to voicemail. (Meaning the phone is off). The LED light shows, so what could be the problem?
