IPhone :: 4 Showing Black Screen With Charging Pic - Cannot Restore?

I got a new iphone 4 yesterday because my old one had a spring break so the power button wouldn't work. The new phone worked fine for most of the day but last night showed a message saying I needed to plug the phone into itunes again and restore it. I have now tried to restore the phone on two separate computers and both times error message number 1 has shown up with a note saying that apple can not process my request. I am wondering what the number means so that I can fix it and restore my phone. As it is now its useless. Its just a black screen with a charger picture and an arrow telling me to connect it to itunes.

My iphone 4 has a black screen and gets warm when charging. also, the battery runs out unusually fast. I can still receive calls etc and can see a 'backlight' come on behind the black screen when buttons are pressed, but I can not see anything on the screen. I have tried restoring the phone from recovery mode in iTunes but this does not fix the problem. If it were the screen that needs replacing then would the phone get warm?

my iphone has a black screen but I can hear it's not dead, it makes the click noise when you lock it and vibrates when you switch the volume off. I already tried to restart it by hold home and lock buttons with no luck, also tried to restore.

When charging my iPhone and get a text (or any other activity takes place), the screen is greyish and dim, and if I slide across to unlock the screen, it goes dimmer and eventually fades away to black. I then have to lock the screen and unplug my phone to be able to read the text or get to whatever I need.

I have an iPhone 4S and before that I had an iPhone 3G, sometimes the screen will go black and will not turn back on until the next morning, even with a fully charged battery. My new phone and my old one both have done this, does anyone have the same problem? And does anyone know why it does this or maybe how to fix it?

when I have disconnected battery and changed screen, now the screen is just black and the phone just double vibrates constantly when plugged into charger. sk basically screen is like dead, I tried old screen back in and same, but if was v damaged anyway with green screen and lines. But now just get black screen. iTunes recognises if and allowed me to restore but again same problem. Don't know whether to try another new screen.

My wife as an iphone 4, 32 gb phone. Model A1332 running 7.1.1, recently she tried to use it but only had a black screen, plugged into iTunes, iTunes detects successfully and can see all data and apps and on a windows PC can even go through explorer and see the photos on the PCÂ
if I hard reboot the screen is functional and I see the apple logo before the screen goes completely black. I can take a screenshot (and view it on the PC in the photos folde) and see the correct homescreenÂ
I Tried putting the phone into Dfu and restoring and the phone works! Screen lights up, fully functional as a new setup.Â
as soon as I restore her profile the black screen re-occurs. Apple logo on booting up followed by a black (unresponsive) screenÂ
TRied restoring to an older profile but no luck, dont want to lose all the contacts & history / messages etc. Â what can I do?

Bought a broken phone off a friend. The phone doesnt do anything when its plugged in(stays black screen) but the computer makes a sound showing a new device is connected. went to itunes and itune say it cant connect because it has a locked passcode. But i cannot enter the code because the screen is black!

have this phone for the last 8 months now , I noticed a black spot on the screen (near the profile icon) just 2 days back,immediately did a hard reboot (pulling the battery when the phone is ON) , but the black spot remained on all the screens , the spot became smaller and smaller till yesterday morning ,but when i charged my phone again (overnite) ,the black spot again 'grew' back this morning , this is very peculiar and i am unable to get a handle on this.

I wanted to use my Blackberry, so I took it out. I pressed the back button, so my screen would show. The screen was black, so I decided to press the end call button (Red). Still, nothing seemed to light up, the screen was black. So I removed my battery, put it back in. The LED light turned red for a couple of minuets, then turned off but the screen was still black. Tried connecting it to my USB Cable to the computer + the charge cable, but both to no prevail. I then thought maybe my screen is just temporarily bugging, maybe a call would do the trick. I tried calling my phone, but it went straight to voicemail. (Meaning the phone is off). The LED light shows, so what could be the problem?

I am trying to connect my iphone 4 to my macbook pro - it is charging, but not showing up on my desktop or in itunes. This is a recent problem and has never happened before. I have tried different usb ports, tried rebooting everything (phone, computer etc) and followed all the support steps to no avail.

Since last update (did all the updates) the device seems to reboot, so I tried to restore, but in the middle of the process Itunes shows a message window with the "Error 21", and reboots the device; so it start all over again. Try to restore -> Error 21 -> reboot -> restore -> Error 21 -> reboot .... so I can't restore or initialize the device!

I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?

My iPhone 4S works fine but when I plug it into iTunes it tells me I need to restore my phone, but iPhoto can access my pictures with no problem.This is the message that pops up:iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "Josh's iPhone". Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings.
