my iphone has a black screen but I can hear it's not dead, it makes the click noise when you lock it and vibrates when you switch the volume off. I already tried to restart it by hold home and lock buttons with no luck, also tried to restore.

I have an iPhone 4S and before that I had an iPhone 3G, sometimes the screen will go black and will not turn back on until the next morning, even with a fully charged battery. My new phone and my old one both have done this, does anyone have the same problem? And does anyone know why it does this or maybe how to fix it?

I got a new iphone 4 yesterday because my old one had a spring break so the power button wouldn't work. The new phone worked fine for most of the day but last night showed a message saying I needed to plug the phone into itunes again and restore it. I have now tried to restore the phone on two separate computers and both times error message number 1 has shown up with a note saying that apple can not process my request. I am wondering what the number means so that I can fix it and restore my phone. As it is now its useless. Its just a black screen with a charger picture and an arrow telling me to connect it to itunes.

when I have disconnected battery and changed screen, now the screen is just black and the phone just double vibrates constantly when plugged into charger. sk basically screen is like dead, I tried old screen back in and same, but if was v damaged anyway with green screen and lines. But now just get black screen. iTunes recognises if and allowed me to restore but again same problem. Don't know whether to try another new screen.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI wanted to use my Blackberry, so I took it out. I pressed the back button, so my screen would show. The screen was black, so I decided to press the end call button (Red). Still, nothing seemed to light up, the screen was black. So I removed my battery, put it back in. The LED light turned red for a couple of minuets, then turned off but the screen was still black. Tried connecting it to my USB Cable to the computer + the charge cable, but both to no prevail. I then thought maybe my screen is just temporarily bugging, maybe a call would do the trick. I tried calling my phone, but it went straight to voicemail. (Meaning the phone is off). The LED light shows, so what could be the problem?

I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?

Strange picture behavior: When viewing the list of pictures (on media card), the thumbnails are generally visible. However, with some recent pix, there's no visible thumbnail. At first, it looked like there simply was no thumbnail, but I see that by moving to where the thumbnail is, it's outlined in blue (but the thumbnail is all black). Clicking on that all black thumbnail opens up the picture, which looks just fine. This has occurred for about ten pictures. I copied those pictures onto my computer, and thumbnails are visible there. I transferred the pix back from my computer to the BB, and those same pix still have an all-black thumbnail (but visible picture when opened).

A friend of mine put in their BBM name "love" in a different type lettering, but all I could see was 4 small black squares. View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my iphone about 3 hours ago and it landed screen-down, but it was not shattered. everything on the phone works however i can't see anything - the screen is COMPLETELY black. i tried resetting it by pressing the home and power buttons at the same time, and it has not worked. since the phone is entirely functional except for the screen, i can hear when i get a text, etc. when i tried restarting it, I knew it worked because it made a sound when it came back on and was charging, therefore the only issue is the screen.
