Phone does not ring, does vibrate, sound profile is set to "Phone Calls Only. Did a hard reboot (removed & reinserted battery), did not change the problem.
View 3 RepliesHow can I set the profile for phone calls, to vibrate and then ring. I had it set like this on my old Curve. The way it is now, it rings and vibrates at the same time. Having it vibrate before the ring is helpful during meetings.

On my 9700 the default sound profile overrides the custom profile. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be the opposite correct? What am I missing or not understanding?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
there are no ring sound only vibrate, why?

my phone profile is normal but when some one phones me the ringtone dont play same problem with the notifications is the phone faulty or something I have done wrong?

When an incoming call, email and or message is received only the LED blinks. I get no sound/ringtone nor does the phone vibrate. I've checked the phone's settings and all appears to be as it should.
I am a new EVO user. I previously had a Blackberry and it had a Vibrate then Ring function on it, which allowed me to catch calls before the ringer kicked in. This was a great feature. I am not able set my phone to be on vibrate at certain times, as my schedule is not a set routine. I have looked for apps that would allow me to do this, without any luck. Someone suggested creating a ringtone and leave silence in the beginning, but all of the "custom ringtone apps" that I have tried, cannot do this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a refurbished Bold 9700 today. I have it set just as I did with my old one, but it WILL NOT vibrate and ring at the same time. If I have vibrate checked to on and vibration with ringtone checked to on, it vibrates twice and then rings. If I go into custom, it still vibrates BEFORE ringing. The phone is still on AT&T's official .405 OS right now, and I'm doing the update to .593 right now. Maybe that will help? I'm not sure.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy IPhone 5c stopped alerting me to text messages. I have gone into settings, went to sounds, scrolled down to messages & selected an alert tone. IPhone will only vibrate on texts, volume is turned up. It stopped ringing for phone calls too and will only vibrate.  It is super armored with an Otterbox and has not been dropped or broken.Â
I turned off vibrate. I have even went to Settings General and Reset the Phone totally.Â
Volume is turned up. Text and Ringtone for Calls was set in settings. It plays them fine when I choose them.Â
I have no more updates available for the phone   Update is current OS 7.1.2

My sound profiles are all jumbled up-- I.e. I messed around too much. I want to know how to reset to Factory Sound Profiles. I have tried wiping all data and only restoring contacts and that doesn't seem to work. For instance, after a full security wipe, my Normal Profile will have my Emails silent, SMS normal, and BBM new messages as silent.

When in 'vibrate' mode, I want my phone to vibrate ONLY, whether to notify me of a phone call, instant msg, email, sms, whatever. But, when my phone is in the holster, it will vibrate and then ping with a sound alert. I was awakened at 4am this morning because my phone was in the holster on vibrate on my dresser and an email came in.I've checked my settings a dozen times and can't figure out how to get it to NOT ping. The settings for 'play sound' are only 'in holster', 'out of holster', and 'always'. There's no 'never' option.

It is a T-mobile phone but I am using it with rogers.I have noticed a problem in that when I take a picture with the camera, it freezes at the "saving..." screen. I can hold down the BB menu button and get out of it, but the "saving..." screen at the bottom still remains. I can do a power on/off and it gets rid of it, and then it gives me the following message:

I have noticed that when I press "Sounds and Ring tones" under options it freezes as well (and i get the uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_options_app(242) is not responding; process terminated). Similarly I can get out using the BB menu button.I should also note that I cannot get back into the frozen functinos if I get out using the BB menu button until after I restart.
The about screen shows the following:
v5.0.0.330 (Platform 5.1.9.91)
I just did a security wipe and have not added any apps or anything.
My 9900 is only a week old but has started behaving strangely. Sometimes it would stop ringing when a call comes but would show the name of the caller on the screeen. Picking up the call would result in the caller not hearing my voice. Once this happens , it would remain this way till I pull out the battery and restart it again. When in this situation , any outgoing call would also not work.
I've checked and I'm at the latest available update. (7.0.0 bundle 1346)
In a Blackberry you can set up a custom profile to control when your phone rings or vibrates for incoming traffic. Is this possible for iPhone 4S?

The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?
The Pearl had a button for changing the profile to quiet/vibrate without unlocking the keyboard, but I cannot find such a button on the 8900?
