Where do I find the option to make the phone sounds, phone call only.
BlackBerry, you press one button and BAM, done, android, it gives me the volume keys to change notifications, does this mean if I turn the phone notification volume up, im going to be spammed with beeps and pings from email and messaging?
So I've done my best to find a solution to my custom sound profile problems,but I can't seem to find any similar posts. On my 9700 the default sound profile overrides the custom profile. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be the opposite correct? What am I missing or not understanding?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
my phone profile is normal but when some one phones me the ringtone dont play same problem with the notifications is the phone faulty or something I have done wrong?

It was suggested to me to flash my rom via the development tool Sony offers but I do not wish to void my warranty.
I just shifted from Samsung S4 to Sony Xperia Z2 supposing that Z2 has best feature as on date. It seems it's true till some extent however I am struggling with the call quality issue specially other party is not able to hear my voice clearly.
I tested it many times now it's very frustrating, everything is fine during usage of headphone but again same problem when I am taking calls directly from my cell.
I've noticed a few times recently when my phone is hot that if I make or receive a call there is no sound. My phone will ring if a call comes in but if I answer it, silence. If I try to make a call, the display shows it's connected and the call timer is ticking away, but I hear nothing, no ringing or voice. I've been told that the other person CAN hear me so I know the calls are connecting. Once the phone is cooler it works fine again. The overheating seems to happen in my car if the display has been on for a while with GPS and/or it's charging, and if it's a sunny day and the phone is getting some direct sunlight.

I use the Phone Calls Only profile when I go to bed (I figure if it's important someone will call me, I don't want texts, facebook and emails waking me up).I used this profile on the Tour and it worked great.Just tried it last night on the bold and BBMs and emails were not silent, however, my sound settings are all identical to what they were on my tour. My understanding is the profile Phone Calls Only overrides any settings you have, and only makes noise if the phone rings. This was not the case.Is my phone defective, is do I need to do something else to set this up on my Bold?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy sound profiles are all jumbled up-- I.e. I messed around too much. I want to know how to reset to Factory Sound Profiles. I have tried wiping all data and only restoring contacts and that doesn't seem to work. For instance, after a full security wipe, my Normal Profile will have my Emails silent, SMS normal, and BBM new messages as silent.

The "Play Sound: Always" for selected contacts should override any and all profiles set. In my case what I'm trying to do is to receive notifications or sounds from my family while the device is charging and in bedside mode but ONLY from them. I set a "Sleep" profile that is silent with the selected contacts to ring Always and it doesn't work.

Ihave turned my phone off completely, taken out battery and put back in, & still nothing. I spend lots of time in places where you're not supposed to have ringing on, I need at least vibrate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my sound on "Loud (Active)" as I always do and then all of the sudden it stops making any sounds or chimes when I receive calls, emails, texts or facebook notifications.My calls and ect.are still coming thru, but just completely silent.I have to look at my screen to see I have a call coming thru and wait for the little red light at the top to see if I have any text messages and whatnot.Does anyone know why this could be happening?Now during the workday I will probably end up missing important phone calls and playing phone tag with people.Any help would be appreciated
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've recently been getting problems with the profiles it makes a sound for everything except emails. I used to be able to fix this with a battery pull and it might work for maybe 2 or 3 hours but now its just reffusing to work at all I'm running 8900/5.0.0.238.
Last night out of nowhere, I started receiving texts with a different ringtone than I usually do. When I went into the sound profiles (I have mine at "normal"), the old settings were still applied, however, when I checked out my contacts, they had all been set to another tone. I usually have them set at "gung **" but all my contacts had been changed to "sanguine".When checking the ringtone for my calls, I noticed that all my contacts had been changed to "classic ringtone" when the sound profile I had my phone on had a custom ringtone.
I don't mind that the texts ring a different sound but I really can't stand the classic ringtone sound so I wanted to know if anyone can help me with this? My phone seems to be working find except for that part. I tried a battery pull already..no help. I read somewhere that I might have to delete all my contacts and put them in again with custom tones for each person, but that seems like a huge waste of time. Help, please!
This may have been answered before But i have searched and not found the answer I was looking for. Can anyone tell the point of having the edit profiles option on the Storm 2? Because it doesnt play what I select. Is there an easier way to get my phone to play the selected ringtones for the appropiate notifications other than going to EACH and Every contact and changing it? Hopefully ive explained this well enough to understand.

One thing I noticed was that on the old curve, you could temporarily inactivate a sound profile for a contact. I used this functionality somewhat frequently and it doesn't appear that the same is present on OS 6.

I see that there is an option to create a customized profile, but I am not able to figure out how this might be accomplished.Anyone know how I can select "to receive only calls from 2 people" in my contact list? Should I give them a specific ring-tone and allow only that tone? Or is it possible to specifically select their names from the contact list?

I am using Nokia E71. For past few days I am facing this problem - The phone restarts when I try to switch it off or change the profile. Suppose I am in general profile and I press power button to change the profile, the switch off option and the profile list will be displayed for a second and then the phone restarts... I have tried all the options like upgrading firmware and formatting and restoring the phone.. but no use.

Now I have my name in the contacts with no info except for the name. I also have my name and all info in the contacts. I tried to merge but it won't let anything merge with the user name on the phone. If I have too I will add all of the info manually so there is only one profile in contacts but will I have the same problem when I get another new phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBrand new Z5 Compact out of box. Switched from iOS and thus used iSMS2Droid/SMS Backup & Restore-trick to transfer text conversations to android. Worked like a charm apart from the fact that the profile pictures i messages are not the same as in phone book. Not a major issue but quite annoying.
I have tried the following
1. Delete conversation, delete messenger data & cache, restart, write new message - fawlty profile picture comes back
2. Delete contact in phonebook, create new contact with new picture - does not sync
I notice that if I click faulty profile picture in messages I get transferred to a contact which is not in my phone book, while if I click a correct profile picture in messages I get transferred to the proper contact.
So, how to get this to work correctly? Go back to factory settings is an option I guess but I'm worried the messages are synced somwhere so nothing will change by the time I come back.
I run Nova Launcher but don't quite think that matters.
