BB Bold 9000 :: Profile Is On Silent And Calls Are Ringing
Jun 11, 2010
Just today, my profiles are NOT working. I had "Profiles" on silent and calls were ringing The calls that were coming through were set for "active profile" so they were NOT supposed to come through.
I have my phone always on the LOUD profile and its fine one second but the next i will not hear any texts, emails, facebooks, calls, alarms, ect. it will just vibrate and only vibrate. i literally have to pull the battery out to reboot the system to get it back to normal.
Since buying my BlackBerry Bold 9000 phone I have had problems with the ringtone volume. Despite setting the volume to maximum I still miss my calls because you can barely hear the ringtone when a call comes through. Is this normal with this model or am I just unlucky?
Normal settings changed to something or other - guessing Default? Nothing done here on my end other than a couple app installs and then uninstalls. All the alert tones and default ringtone went to something other than what they were.
My PIN messages are coming in silent, no matter what sound setting I have the phone sent to. If I don't see the phone blinking, I don't know I have a message because it doesn't go off. Any help with this ? And I'm sorry if there is a thread on this, I searched and didn't find anything.
When I go to school, I put the sound on "OFF." I move sometimes and I accidentally press the volume button, and sometimes it plays music from my music player on my BB Bold. I'm scared the volume will go too high and the teacher will hear, she/he'll take my phone, of course. Is there anyway to fix this? I do put my music volume all the way down before I get to class, but sometimes it just goes back up a little bit by random button pressing. I do lock my phone, also, but I never turn it off, and I don't want to. So, is there any other way to keep me safe in classes?
I had the option to switch my phone to silent for a period of time of my choice. After that the phone would switch back to normal. The benefit of this was that I could never forget to switch back to normal. For example at the beginning of a meeting with an estimated duration of 2 hours, I would program the phone to a 2 hours silent period and after that it would switch back to normal. This was so handy. Is that possible at my BlackBerry 9000?
when the iphone is sleep, and a call comes in, the only option i have is to slide the bar to the right to answer the phone, then i have to press the end button. isnt there a way to stop the call from ringing and let it goto voicemail from sleep mode?
Whilst I'm mid conversation on my bold 9900 it will go silent for a period of time sometimes it comes on and then will go silent again other times it will completely cut off.
Phone does not ring, does vibrate, sound profile is set to "Phone Calls Only. Did a hard reboot (removed & reinserted battery), did not change the problem.
I changed my Silent profile to alert me when messages arrive. Now that I realize I changed a whole profile I want to set Silent back to "silent", but none of the choices for "notifier tone", "volume", "count" or "play sounds" is the equivalent of silent - e.g.. I must choose at least number 1 for volume and number 1 for count - there are no "none" or "0" options.I'd like to include my BB model number with this post but I don't know where to find that information.
If I set my phone to either vibrate or be silent, when I get a text or whats app or some other sort of notification, it rings instead of vibrate. I like the phone to be quiet in certain environments and this is killing me. I have had droid razors before and never had this issue.
Since upgrading to Lollipop, occasionally the Turbo will ring once and then go silent, although the call is still pending. You could easily miss a call this way, especially since that first ring now starts off at a lower volume level. What's going on here?
This is pretty frustrating - anytime I get an incoming phone call when my 9700 is set to Silent, it still vibrates. I've gone through the profile settings and alerts menus, and they all have vibrate set to OFF under the Silent profile. Battery pull has no effect. Anything else I should try?
I am a long term blackberry user but I am at a loss as to what I have done to my 9700. The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?
I have just been on a flight with my N8 in flight mode when a preset alarm went off. Although the phone was offline - this is still ver embarrassing. So my question is, can I create a new profile which is offline, and also stops all alarms etc. Ideally I would like two offline profiles - one which is offline and quiet, one which is offline but still has audble alarms.
I have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Put your Nokia N900 on Silent. Now call your mobile and when the calling screen appears hit the loudspeaker key. Clicking this key will cut out even the vibrations on the Nokia N900, but the phone you are calling from will still hear a ringing tone.End the call from the other phone. Now put the Nokia N900 back on General profile. Call the N900 again from another phone. This time you will not hear a ring tone even though you are back on General profile. (I've checked and my volume was on full)
Atleast this is the problem I'm getting at the moment. Apologies if this problem has been covered elsewhere. I've tried to find it but couldnt so will appreciate if someone can paste a link to it here. The problem goes away if you restart the N900, but I'm hoping this problem can be fixed.
I have a bold on three uk, love the fone hate the network! Can some1 help, when I select the 3G signal ppl can not call my phone! It goes straight to my answer fone, even if they r sat next to me!When I try n call out it jus says call failed! Also there is a 45+min delay in my texts coming n going.Three deny there is anything wrong with there network or the fone! So why am I paying a monthly fee for a service I'm not receiving!I have tried ALL official OS updates and the leaked .411 but still have these problems
My bb bold 9000 does not ring or play music or the alarm does not go off..i wiped it and reloaded the os still no luck...one day out of the week the ringer works,
Any one in Houston Texas also experience poor 3G coverage and lots of failed calls? In the many years that we have had cell phones we have not had this many regular dropped and failed calls in Houston. With all 4 new 9000's we find that we also have to reboot to get emails and text messages delivered, sometimes.
I have the Blackberry Bold on the Vodafone UK network.Last week once it became available , I updated to the new 5.0.0.411 S/ware.On the whole I have had no problems , however I have noticed that my battery life is most definitely not as good as before the update. The one thing I have noticed is that my Missed Calls Log has vanished , & I just can't seem to get it back.
On the old s/ware , if I couldn't take a call I just had to then press the green button & there would automatically be a list of that , & all other missed calls.
Now when someone calls & I choose not to take it , if I then press close , however then press the green key to see the log , the missed call log is not there. All that's displayed is the actual Call Log. I agree that the number that called me is there with the missed call symbol next to it , however this is in the complete call log.
How van I retrieve this Missed Call Log only? In my line of work , it is certainly possible that I will legitimately miss calls during the course of the day. It will become very annoying if I can now not view them at a glance.
I've been having issues with my calls failing for about a week or two now. It doesn't happen every phone call. But when it does, it seems to be at the 0:22 or 2:00 mark of the call. Quite strange. Once it happens, it continues every call afterward until i do a battery pull.
And since I updated to 5.0.0.681 a couple days ago, twice or three times it's said "Invalid SIM Card" and I have to reboot my phone. Not sure the reasoning behind this. I saw a couple threads in the Storm and Curve boards but, didn't see any solutions. So, thought I'd ask here to see if anyone else has had similar issues.
I just unlocked my phone and inserted my sim card inside this new phone and I can't make any calls. My old phone was a Blackberry Flip.. Does anyone know whats going on?? ppl said to update the OS or update it via the blackberry updater, but wouldn't that mess up my phone? How can I make my BB work??
I'd like to create a customized profile called "Night-time" that blocks all incoming calls except for those of my young-adult children. I see that there is an option to create a customized profile, but I am not able to figure out how this might be accomplished.Anyone know how I can select "to receive only calls from 2 people" in my contact list? Should I give them a specific ring-tone and allow only that tone? Or is it possible to specifically select their names from the contact list?
I bought my blackberry about 4 months ago and it has been working fine with SIM cards from different countries, until now! My provider is O2, and I lost my SIM card and so I had to get a new one to replace it, and after it has been registered and everything sorted out from the provider's side, I found out I cant make any calls, send texts nor receive calls on my phone! Sim card works fine, as I have tried using it on a different handset. So it is my blackberry. Is it the settings I have to change? I hope I don't have to send it for repair.
