The issue I am getting is frequently mobile is getting silent automatically No ringtone is ringing, when I am getting incoming call only display is coming, when I am receiving call I cannot hear anything. So everytime I have to switch off mobile and remove battery and restart the phone again, for sometime everything is working fine but after some hours again getting silent.
Just today, my profiles are NOT working. I had "Profiles" on silent and calls were ringing The calls that were coming through were set for "active profile" so they were NOT supposed to come through.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is pretty frustrating - anytime I get an incoming phone call when my 9700 is set to Silent, it still vibrates. I've gone through the profile settings and alerts menus, and they all have vibrate set to OFF under the Silent profile. Battery pull has no effect. Anything else I should try?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a long term blackberry user but I am at a loss as to what I have done to my 9700.
The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?
Brand new Bold 9900.... When I make a call, my screen goes black....I have tried hitting every button on the phone but I cannot get the screen to come back on until I hang up....I can't use speakerphone or do anything during a call.... oddly though, about 10% of the time this doesn't happen and the screen is usable and I can use speakerphone and do anything on my phone during a call....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using IPhone and recently shifted to BB and bought 9900 just 20 days ago. Now the phone started giving me problems the 3rd day of my purchase. After few calls the phone stops receiving calls. What happens is that when a call is made the person receives the call but I am not able to his voice nor does the receiver hears mine however the call dialing status is shown on the screen. I can see that the call is being made but can't hear the ring...the call gets connected and I am charged for that by the service provider. Now when someone calls me the phone does not rings but I can see that I am receiving a call and when I pick up the phone I cannot hear the other person nor does the caller hears me.It works only when I switch off the phone...take the SIM out and again restart the phone but again after few calls the same thing repeats.I went to BB service outlet and got the phone exchanged the new phone also started giving me exactly the same problem.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy 9900 is only a week old but has started behaving strangely. Sometimes it would stop ringing when a call comes but would show the name of the caller on the screeen. Picking up the call would result in the caller not hearing my voice. Once this happens , it would remain this way till I pull out the battery and restart it again. When in this situation , any outgoing call would also not work.
I've checked and I'm at the latest available update. (7.0.0 bundle 1346)
i got a new Blackberry Bold 9900 from Wind Mobile. It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people). I tried adding +1 or removing +1 infront of the number but that does nothing.

Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.
My phone has gone silent, but under profiles it says loud like I had it. The incoming calls & texts are both silent.

I keep it on silent because I text alot and I don't want it to drain my battery and be annoying all day on ringer or vibrate. How could I set it to be silent for text messages, and ring for phone calls?

View 3 Replies View RelatedA few months ago on my 3G, I tried switching my silent switch over and it wouldn't stay silent. The switch does go fully to the left side, but it doesn't do the typical vibrate and show the silent graphic on the phone. BUT if I ever so slightly nudge it to the left it does go to silent but there is no way to keep it in place.
It is almost as if there is something in the way or maybe there is a short? My warranty is no longer valid, but the phone is in perfect condition, has been cased. It makes no sense.
Anybody have any advice, because I would like to sell the phone soon but obviously do not want to sell it without the silent working. I guess I could go to a cell phone repair shop but they charge a $30 diagnosis fee and then apply that to the repair. I do not want to get screwed.Anybody have ANY advice or experience with the switch conking out on them. Any home remedies?
My PIN messages are coming in silent, no matter what sound setting I have the phone sent to. If I don't see the phone blinking, I don't know I have a message because it doesn't go off. Any help with this ? And I'm sorry if there is a thread on this, I searched and didn't find anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to school, I put the sound on "OFF." I move sometimes and I accidentally press the volume button, and sometimes it plays music from my music player on my BB Bold. I'm scared the volume will go too high and the teacher will hear, she/he'll take my phone, of course. Is there anyway to fix this? I do put my music volume all the way down before I get to class, but sometimes it just goes back up a little bit by random button pressing. I do lock my phone, also, but I never turn it off, and I don't want to. So, is there any other way to keep me safe in classes?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed a disturbing situation with my BB Bold 9700. I can set the audio profile to Silent (like when I am in the movie or theater) but when people with specific ringtones call, the phone still has the audible ring.
I have tried all the tips I have found on this site and other sites. However, nothing seems to work. It only happens with people who have custom ring tones set.
Ok, so I'm trying to work out how the silent modes work on my Z3. I'm failing.
So it seems you can press the volume key and by clicking the 'bell' icon I can scroll through 3 different modes: Loud, Vibrate and Silent.
Seems simple enough, only none of these modes silence apps or games at all.
I just want to put my phone on silence/vibrate and know that even apps and games will be silent too.
I thought I could put into vibrate mode and slide the media volume down to zero and it would rememeber it... then putting back into loud mode would make media slider go back to normal volume?... Nope, I have to change it back to loud mode and remember to slide the media volume back to normal...
I set my iPhone 4s on silent every day for work. In the last few days any text messages and phone calls have been playing out loud. I've only had the phone two months. It also randomly vibrates for no apparent reason sometimes repeatedly.

As the title says, while my phone is on silent (and even on "All Alerts Off"), my phone somehow seems to vibrate when a phone call comes in. It works perfectly fine on SMS and everything else; it's only a problem for phone calls. I have went into the profile settings and it is set to silent and vibrate off. I even have done a master reset of the phone. So I don't know what the deal is.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had the option to switch my phone to silent for a period of time of my choice. After that the phone would switch back to normal. The benefit of this was that I could never forget to switch back to normal. For example at the beginning of a meeting with an estimated duration of 2 hours, I would program the phone to a 2 hours silent period and after that it would switch back to normal. This was so handy. Is that possible at my BlackBerry 9000?
