I am a long term blackberry user but I am at a loss as to what I have done to my 9700.
The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?
So the 'Normal' profile of my 9700 (Phone) is set up to play ALWAYS simply because it is on my desk in the office, it is not in the holster, and I want to hear when it rings.
I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.
I have my Bold 9700 set on vibrate only and I keep getting vibrate plus ring tone. I have gone to the settings and they all say silent.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am usng a BlackberryBold 9700, (AT&T).I imported all the contacts from my previous backup.I copied an mp3 file from my PC to the device memory. Set this mp3 file as the ring tone to all the profiles. I did not set any custom ringtone to any individual contact.But when i recieve a call, both my custom ring tone and the 'Ringer_ClassicPhone' are playing together.Also, a file 'Ringer_ClassicPhone.mp3' is being created automatically a'/Device memory/home/user/ringtones/Ringer_ClassicPhone.mp3'Everytime I recieve a call... i get two hear two sounds... it very annoying...

I've gone through the profile settings and alerts menus, and they all have vibrate set to OFF under the Silent profile. Battery pull has no effect. Anything else I should try?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9900. Of late, I have had a problem wherein I am unable to hear the phone's ring. The phone vibrates and I can see a call coming in. When I answer the call, I cant hear the person at the other end of the line, nor can the other person hear me. If I try ringing someone, I cant hear their phone ringing, but I get the message that we are connected, but cant have any conversation. When I do a full power off and restart, its all back to normal.

Issue: After upgrading to version 4.6.0.282 the ring tone volume is very low, even when the profile setting has the tone set to High I often miss the call, I have tried turning on "Audio Boost" with no change, tried a hard re-boot, no change. Volume of calls are fine, it's the ring tones, I have the same ring tone in use as before the O/S upgrade so this hasn't changed, no other (new) apps have been installed, just the O/S upgraded. I can't find any sort of master volume control setting in any of the forums is there such a setting, how do I get the volumes back to normal?

It works perfectly fine on SMS and everything else; it's only a problem for phone calls. I have went into the profile settings and it is set to silent and vibrate off. View 5 Replies View RelatedMy 9900 is only a week old but has started behaving strangely. Sometimes it would stop ringing when a call comes but would show the name of the caller on the screeen. Picking up the call would result in the caller not hearing my voice. Once this happens , it would remain this way till I pull out the battery and restart it again. When in this situation , any outgoing call would also not work.
I've checked and I'm at the latest available update. (7.0.0 bundle 1346)
Phone does not ring, does vibrate, sound profile is set to "Phone Calls Only. Did a hard reboot (removed & reinserted battery), did not change the problem.

Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.
so wanted a new ring tone, went into the way apple tellls you to through the setttings sounds then into ringtone and buy more tones so searched and found my desired tone but it wont be a tone now its only playing in my music app

Is there any way to set the ring profile to ring only once? Like it does for messaging or email received? In the phone ringtone it just keeps looping whereas I would like it to simply ring once- i get alerted and thats it!

I am using the Normal profile, and the phone setting for Normal is set to Play sound = Always.
