BB Bold :: 9930 Tone When Answering Calls?
Jul 2, 2012BlackBerry 9930's have begun playing a sound when answering calls. Reactivating the phone & switching phones did not resolve the problem.

BB Bold 9700 :: Answering Calls By Itself Sometimes
Aug 13, 2010My Bold 9700 has been answering calls by itself sometimes. A call will come in and it will automatically answer, but only once in a while. I do not have it set to auto answer. This problem continues until a battery pull is done. Once I pull the battery it works fine again for a while but it will happen again after about a day of working fine. Another problem is that the phone tends to reboot itself very often. After being on the phone for a while it will restart itself, sometimes in the middle of a call. I have called tmobile's blackberry support multiple times and they are no help. I have wiped the device from my blackberry. I have also redone the handheld software and used the application loader to do it. I have no idea why this problem is occuring!! Does anyone else have the same problem or know how to fix it?

Aug 19, 2012I was issued a phone from my job. As of today my phone currently is not sending/receiving phone calls and i cannot check the voicemail. To make it a bit more clear, i have no phone icon nor voicemail icon. if i use the keyboard to input a number and dial it, it does nothing. if i try to call through contacts my phone freezes. I cannot get into the ringtone options either.This is the third time this has happened to me within the last 2 months. The first time it happened they couldnt help fix the issue and i had to send the phone in for a replacement. last time I called up and they walked through getting the phone totally reset.
So now that it has happened again i have decided to get on the forums and explain the issue and hopefully they can figure out if this is a glitch in the phone, known issue or whatever.. My Blackberry is not my main phone, i have a personal phone i use all the time for entertainment and chatting. This weekend i did not charge my blackberry due to lack of not using it. i also didnt charge it when i was on vacation a while back and this had happened to me as well. Here is the only thing i do every time which may or may not be the cause..i forget to charge the phone. the phone drains the battery enough to shut itself off. when i find out its dead, i plug it in to charge it. a small battery icon appears with a electric bolt through it. i leave it be for about 10 seconds and i want the phone to come to see if i have any missed calls so i press and hold the power button a few seconds. the phone boots up and viola. no phone icon to be found. IMO, this should not normally bring up any issue but this is exactly what has happened all three times. As i said earlier, this is my second phone that has had the same problem. I rarely ever use this phone except to do company business so i am not downloading any apps or games. i use the company phone about 17 minutes a month and check my outlook sync'd calander and emails.
BB Bold :: 9930 Handset / Microphone Not Working On Phone Calls
May 6, 2012About a week or so ago, the handset stopped working on phone calls on my Verizon 9930. I would have to put the phone on speaker in order to hear the person on the other end. I just updated to the latest OS that was released yesterday (7.1.0.580) and the problem is still there. Can't remember what triggered the handset to stop working, as I didn't do anything different to the phone, or drop it, etc. I should add whether receiving or making the call, it doesn't work either way. Also I've tried soft pulls (alt + upper case + del) but not a battery pull. Figured the OS update worked the same as a battery pull.

Jul 15, 2010I am a long term blackberry user but I am at a loss as to what I have done to my 9700.
The ring tone just will not work or at least when someone calls me its silent. I have gone through every profile and rebooted a thousand times, but it just wont work. Any ideas?

Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.

Oct 14, 2011I don't know what happens, but know I only can answer calls with the headset on.Eventhough headset is not plug, the phone acts like if it was. The headset icon always appears in the screen. I just tried to restart the phone. I took the battery off and when the phone restart the icon is not there, as soon as I plug the headset, the icon appears and it continues there til I turn off the phone and start everything again.

When the phone answer's you can't hear the caller. And on the other end (if you're calling me) it still rings and then goes to vm. Jun 26, 2010This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
