All of a sudden I cannot hear anything when making calls and I cannot hear anything when answering calls?? It rings both ways but when I answer I don't hear the other party and they cannot hear me. When i call someone I don't hear it ringing even though it say calling, then connected.

When I make a call on my iPhone 4 I can't hear the person I'm calling and they can't hear me and there's no static or sound at all. The phone call will connect and the other person will see that they're recieving a call from me. Another common occurance is that then I make a call the speaker phone button will be lit up when I haven't pressed it and it isn't on. Turning that off and on doesn't solve the problem and there isn't any water damage. I reset the phone and got a new sim card and that hasn't solved the situation. Multiple technicians have opened the phone and can't solve the problem.

I've just got the X10 mini and made my first call out yesterday which started well but after about 6mins I could not hear the person on the other end of the phone but they could hear me. I tried calling out again this morning and the same thing happened. The only way I can hear the other person is to have the phone on loud speaker. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong as it is driving me mad?

They can hear me just fine. I can hear my music, ringtones etc. Anything to try before I seek out an repairer. I already tried restarting and resetting to no avail.

Never had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
When making or receiving a call, the caller or the person I am calling cannot hear me. If I turn on speaker, they can hear me. This is a new iPhone 4, I traded in my 1 year old iPhone 4, because it also was having this issue, & the apple store staff could not fix it.
I have tried turning on/off, plugging in ear buds and unplugging them, cause I heard that could help, & syncing the phone. Nothing has worked yet that I have tried.

It shows up in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like the service signal bar graph only reversed w/ the larger bars on the left and getting smaller moving right. They also have a white plus sign at the top of each blue bar, background is a black box. Anybody have any idea what this is for and why it only recently came about?

It's like the tone if you have a call waiting, but the thing is there is no other call. It's getting pretty annoying because it does this on every call. The wife's phone does the samething. The headset icon always appears in the screen. I just tried to restart the phone. I took the battery off and when the phone restart the icon is not there, as soon as I plug the headset, the icon appears and it continues there til I turn off the phone and start everything again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 has been answering calls by itself sometimes. A call will come in and it will automatically answer, but only once in a while. I do not have it set to auto answer. This problem continues until a battery pull is done. Once I pull the battery it works fine again for a while but it will happen again after about a day of working fine. Another problem is that the phone tends to reboot itself very often. After being on the phone for a while it will restart itself, sometimes in the middle of a call. I have called tmobile's blackberry support multiple times and they are no help. I have wiped the device from my blackberry. I have also redone the handheld software and used the application loader to do it. I have no idea why this problem is occuring!! Does anyone else have the same problem or know how to fix it?

Generally I'm quite happy with the phone. I did however experience a problem yesterday where my phone (without my knowledge) was not taking incoming calls. When we met he tried again and the phone did not ring and worse still the answering machine did not cut in. My phone was showing a full signal. Phone rings, you take out of your pocket to answer and the screen goes blank !!! You can't see the green answer call button! I thought this might be because of the power saving mode, but disabled that and I'm still having the same problem.

When the phone answer's you can't hear the caller. And on the other end (if you're calling me) it still rings and then goes to vm. I did have the auto answer setting on before when you wave your hand over it. I thought that was it so I turned it off but it's still messed up. I'm stock on 4.4.4

I updated my 8530 to OS 5.0.0.722. It messed up my contacts birthdays on the calendar again (just like every update ive downloaded since i got my phone), but besides that I thought everything was fine. But then, After using it for a few days, I've occassionally been unable to hear anything during calls. It works most of the time, but occassionally, when someone calls me and i pick up; it says "Connected", I don't hear anything. Same with vice versa, when I call them, it says "Connected" and I dont hear anything.
