Nokia Nseries :: Create An Offline AND Silent Profile?
Jun 7, 2012
I have just been on a flight with my N8 in flight mode when a preset alarm went off. Although the phone was offline - this is still ver embarrassing. So my question is, can I create a new profile which is offline, and also stops all alarms etc. Ideally I would like two offline profiles - one which is offline and quiet, one which is offline but still has audble alarms.
I am trying to create new sip profile from options>settings>connection>sip settings...nohing happens when I select new sip profile using default profile.I hav already reset the phone using *#7780# but problem is still there.
In my Nokia E63, when I try to create a new Profile (an office profile, where I want the tones, volumes etc. to be customized), the profile creation page screen does not open.I do it this way. Menu > Tools > Profiles > Options > Create new.
I expect a create new profile screen to open, but nothing happens. 'Create new' option just exits the Options panel and does not open the create new profile screen.
Put your Nokia N900 on Silent. Now call your mobile and when the calling screen appears hit the loudspeaker key. Clicking this key will cut out even the vibrations on the Nokia N900, but the phone you are calling from will still hear a ringing tone.End the call from the other phone. Now put the Nokia N900 back on General profile. Call the N900 again from another phone. This time you will not hear a ring tone even though you are back on General profile. (I've checked and my volume was on full)
Atleast this is the problem I'm getting at the moment. Apologies if this problem has been covered elsewhere. I've tried to find it but couldnt so will appreciate if someone can paste a link to it here. The problem goes away if you restart the N900, but I'm hoping this problem can be fixed.
I am facing 2 problems in 5230 1. not able to create new profile, when clicking the "create new" option it is showing the existing profiles only. 2. E-mail notification option not showing under settings > personal > homescreen this all happend after I have restore my phone to factory settings.
My N8 is stuck in offline mode. I have tried changing the profile, hard resetting, factory reset, another sim in my phone, my sim in another phone (both of which worked fine in other phone).I should also say that the phone had a fault before this. The battery ran dry and would not charge, I contacted my mobile company (virgin mobile) and they told me to send my phone in.
I received my phone back saying they could not fix the fault and it was not covered by the warranty. I tried to turn it on last night and it switched on, great I thought and put my sim back in but nothing. I checked the sim slot on the side of the phone and I can see that all the pins are fine and not bent or have been moved in any way.
I changed my Silent profile to alert me when messages arrive. Now that I realize I changed a whole profile I want to set Silent back to "silent", but none of the choices for "notifier tone", "volume", "count" or "play sounds" is the equivalent of silent - e.g.. I must choose at least number 1 for volume and number 1 for count - there are no "none" or "0" options.I'd like to include my BB model number with this post but I don't know where to find that information.
I came to know that we can use OVI Maps in Offline in N900 from the below url http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/tips/maps/. But it asks a connection to proceed and search in OVI Maps doesn't work well. As well the locations are not auto populated. guide me to use OVI Maps effectively in offline in N900.
FYI, I downloaded the required maps in to my N900 using Nokia OVI Suite
Dear Where is the option to make widgets go offline? it's not exist after Belle Update and that eat my battery and WIFI always connected and sure if make WIFI offline i'll lose to sync my mail every 15 min as i configure it.
I have my phone always on the LOUD profile and its fine one second but the next i will not hear any texts, emails, facebooks, calls, alarms, ect. it will just vibrate and only vibrate. i literally have to pull the battery out to reboot the system to get it back to normal.
I recently upgraded to Anna and cannot change my profile, it is stuck on General. When I select other options like Silent, it simply does not change. It does not matter where I try to change it from, e.g. the widget or from the power button menu.
i have N97 mini. In Administrative Settings, there are three things that i am unable to find any reference on the internet. What is XDM profile, presence and net settings how and where they are used.
Just today, my profiles are NOT working. I had "Profiles" on silent and calls were ringing The calls that were coming through were set for "active profile" so they were NOT supposed to come through.
I have Symbian s60v5 Application called MumSMS+ That is what i exactly want in N8 (or Symbian Belle OS) before i buy it. So, is there any SMS Application for N8 (or any Symbian Belle OS) which have following functionalities: Silently Hide the incoming SMS (from the selected numbers)The whole process will be done SILENTLY (at background) by NOT SHOWING any on screen New Message Alerts. The application access is password protected. (No other one can check the messages inside)The application will NOT BE LISTED in the Running Application ListTo say the point, i just don't wanna let anyone beside know that someone special is sending SMS to me.
This is an interesting device, however besides having to have a seperate application for Wifi Hotspot, I am wondering if the so-called "application" for SIP VoIP calls, as per older handsets will in fact work or would it need upgrading.
I know you cannot create a theme with profile , you dont have that option , But can i create one with an other cellphone profile and use it in my xperia x10 mini pro , anyway? If its like that what profile should i use?
I just got the blackberry style, and before I realized that you could create a custom profile setting for the ringtones, I messed with the NORMAL setting and changed it all around. Is there a way to change it back to default or can someone tell me what its supposed to be at so I can change it back to where its supposed be and then I'll create my own custom setting?
by default settings, this phone displays the date and the current profile (General, Exterior, Silent etc) on the "desktop". I let my 1 year-old play with it one day and they disappeared.

the torch clearly can detect when a connection is made to the audio jack - e.g., removing a headphone pauses the media player, and plugging one in pops up a headphone icon and changes the audio level.but I cannot figure out a way to create a profile (with custom alerts, vibration settings, etc) that takes advantage of this info. anyone know how to trigger a profile upon plugging the headset in.
I have a Nokia 500 since last week. I would like to create a shortcut to speed dialling, but only applications, first level, are available. In my opinion, it would be possible to choose an option within the application.
Why Nokia Music Player does not have an option to create playlists from a directory? It would be useful just to select a directory and to have a playlist with the music files from that directory. Is there another Music player for Symbian Belle that have this feature ?
