i have N97 mini. In Administrative Settings, there are three things that i am unable to find any reference on the internet.What is XDM profile, presence and net settings how and where they are used.

I was given a case for my n900 as a gift. I found that every time I put the n900 into the case, it would wake up. I would put it to sleep with the spring loaded switch on the side, but no matter how gingerly I put it into the case it would keep waking up. It then occurred to me to put it into the case backwards, where upon it did not wake up.
The case basically has a felt type liner and a flap which is held closed with magnets in the flap and the front of the case. I have confirmed that both pieces are magnetized. I further discovered that if I run the front face of the n900 against either the flap or the front face of the case, the n900 will wake up.
Simply touching the face of the n900 to a magnet is not sufficient, it must be rubbed or passed in close proximity to the magnet, which I presume is then inducing a current some place that causes the n900 to wake up.I don't know if it is any more of a problem than to tell the case manufacturers not to use magnets, or at least not use them where they can be in close proximity to the face of the n900. So I am passing this along as a heads up when looking into getting a case, and where hopefully someone with more technical knowledge of the inner workings of the n900 might be able to elaborate on this.
I recently upgraded to Anna and cannot change my profile, it is stuck on General. When I select other options like Silent, it simply does not change. It does not matter where I try to change it from, e.g. the widget or from the power button menu.

So my question is, can I create a new profile which is offline, and also stops all alarms etc. Ideally I would like two offline profiles - one which is offline and quiet, one which is offline but still has audble alarms.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Torch, I was really glad that I was able to just set the Normal Profile and then the other Profiles just adjust accordingly when selected. I was messing around with my Profile settings today, and I somehow got my Vibrate Only Profile for the Phone's Vibration settings out of sync from the Normal Profile. Before it had "(Normal)" in front of "Custom" but now it's gone, see attachment. Is there a way I could set it back somehow?

My sons iphone 4 needed to be replaced. When i plugged in the new phone it stated i needed to update the software and recommened I create a new user and change the user after updating. Now i can't figure out how to change the profile back to the profile we used on the broken phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore the latest software update, there was a setting in call settings called personal profile that let me select to have the sound silence when turning phone upside down and/or by tapping screen 2 times. There was also a setting to end a call by clicking the power off button. I can no longer find these settings. Will they bring them back in a future software update? I miss these features!

It changed some settings on my phone and gave me the options to make these settings the defaults which I foolishly said YES to.Previously I could connect to the internet via WIFI or 3G (it gave me the option before hand) however now it likes to force me to use the new 3G service (even with my old SIM fitted).I managed to get my old settings back, but they keep changing back when I turn the phone off or leaving the house.I also don't seam to be able to have WIFI and new 3G option menu.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI found out that all the camera settings is not saved. For exampel i always want the grid displayed but then i have to turn it on manuelly every time. Same goes for the timer, id like it to be on 2sec so the picture not is taken as you push the button (shaky etc).
Probably more camera settings that not saved havent checked it all.
I have no idea how it happened but I lost my settings icon, I tried resetting the phone, and updating the software to the latest but to no avail.
