I am facing 2 problems in 5230 1. not able to create new profile, when clicking the "create new" option it is showing the existing profiles only. 2. E-mail notification option not showing under settings > personal > homescreen this all happend after I have restore my phone to factory settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my Nokia E63, when I try to create a new Profile (an office profile, where I want the tones, volumes etc. to be customized), the profile creation page screen does not open.I do it this way. Menu > Tools > Profiles > Options > Create new.
I expect a create new profile screen to open, but nothing happens. 'Create new' option just exits the Options panel and does not open the create new profile screen.
I have a the T-Mobile version of the 5230 (the Nuron). I assumed that the notification light would flash after someone left a voice mail. T-Mobile Customer Service claims the Nuron does not do this. Under the Settings-Phone-Notification Lights-Notification Light-Events Notified screen, there are 3 options that can be checked: Missed Call, New Message, New E-Mail. I had hoped "New Message" included voice messages as well as text messages, but I guess not.
This means that I would have to turn on the screen to check for voice mails if I stepped away from my phone. (Note: I do get a flashing notification light for missed calls and texts. However, the missed call flashes stop as soon as the "new voice mail" message appears on the screen.) I've tried a soft reset with no improvement.
in the e-mail set up i just have the option "i want to use a work e-mail account with a bes, and i don't have the password. so i search on Internet and i realeased that i should have another option on my phone that is " i want to create or add an e-mail adress". like in the video. i have a curve 8520.

So my question is, can I create a new profile which is offline, and also stops all alarms etc. Ideally I would like two offline profiles - one which is offline and quiet, one which is offline but still has audble alarms.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot getting Twitter notifications on Icon? I have the toast/push notifications turned on. For some reason, whenever I go to settings to make sure they're turned on, I get a notification at the top of the screen that says,
Twitter was unable to create a push notification channel. Please ensure network connectivity and try restarting the app.
I'm on full-service 4G LTE and have also tried just using perfectly fine wifi.
Noticed this a week or two ago and now I don't get toast notifications or live tile updates unless I turn off my phone and then upon restarting I get flooded with all of the notifications since my last turn off.
Also, using the official Twitter app.
I've recently bought a nokia E72 after losing my E71 and I'm really disappointed with this mobile phone. I share most of the problems shared by most of the users. Messy software, awful sound, horrible build quality with lights comig from everywhere. But lately I found another problem with my mobile. When I create a new message, in the messaging menu, I don't have the option to create a MMS message. All the options I have are ''message (sms) / audio message / avatar sms / e-mail''. No signs of MMS creation option. I tried to uninstall the ''avatar sms'' software to check if the MMS menu would appear but still nothing. I've check the MMS settings and all the settings are ok, but still nothing in the messagin menu to create a MMS.
I have just bought a Nokia 5230 and I just wondered how do you start the sat nav option on this phone as I am a bit lost and it all new to me.

Before I bought it, the store told me that it's one pf those phones who doesn't have a secondary camera, but it does have video calling. Is that possible and is that the case with this phone?It's actually one of the reasons that I bought it, so I'm kind of disappointed I can't find a way to use it.

i have nokia 5230 and its supposed to have 128MB ram but when i installed third party apps(RAMblow and FExplorer) these applications are showing only 47.38 as Max.free memory any reason why?

But their names doesn't show in Inbox, only their phone numbers. What the **bleep**?I somehow added a friend of mine which IS showing, but I did that manually. I then tried adding some of the others manually with no result - still showing only their numbers.Whats wrong?

First the alert tone stopped.than the pop new text message stopped and than the little envelope that appears in the right hand corner stopped.Basically I'd be going to my inbox every 5 mins to see if i had any new messages. I called Nokia support and after trying everything else, we ended up reseting the whole phone.That worked...for about 3 days.Than the problem came back.So i called again,tried everything again and nothing. With this connection I could not use the maps option since I am getting 'no connection' reply. When I contacted the cc of Aircel the asked me to send one sms "GPRS BP NOK 5230". If I send this sms I am immediately getting a reply message stating that "Your request could not be complied since your hand set is not compatible for GPRS setting". I just got the blackberry style, and before I realized that you could create a custom profile setting for the ringtones, I messed with the NORMAL setting and changed it all around. Is there a way to change it back to default or can someone tell me what its supposed to be at so I can change it back to where its supposed be and then I'll create my own custom setting?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm about to loose hope on my Nokia 5230. The first was the battery problem. It was empty in a day and a half on very moderate use (swiched off during the night). When I recalibrated the battery the things got better but still far away from the specs on Nokia site. And yes; I have tried all the tricks to save the energy (GSM only, 30% screen brightness, no bluetooth,....).
The second I discovered, that the GPS is basicly useless. It wont lock on the sattelites no matter what.The GPS was one of the main reasons to buy 5230. If someone got lucky to find some sattelites - how good is the accuracy? Is in the range of 6 meters or less as with Garmin?
Now I have discovered, that the clock is not showing the right time. It is loosing minutes as someone said to it that one hour has only 59 or 58 minutes. I still have to discover the logic how the clock is counting minutes. I have tried with and without automatic time update. By the way; the phone has the last firmware.
So if the clock is useless then the alarm is useless and I can't use it on my buisness trips.
Is there anyone else with the same problems? Is there any solution to this clock problem? Some settings I've missed?
Someone would say; for the price everything can not be perfect.
So, is this the logic (Nokia logic):
-we will put in the GPS, but because of a low price it won't find some sattelites
-we will put the battery in the phone but because of the low price it won't last more than two days
-the phone will have the clock but because of the low price it will not show the right time
For no reason I can tell my email notification bar on my home screen has disappeared.I am left with just the shadowed bar where the text for the email count used to be. When I select this bar it flashes red as if I've selected it and I also get a select vibrate but nothing opens.I have tried switching off the notification in my home screen settings, and the good old turining the phone off and on again.
