Is this possible to create a custom ring profile and copy it to another device? We have 7 BB Torch 9800 in our technical team and we want to have the same ring profile for the servers alerts. I did not find this info on the web. Maybe, the ring profile are write on a xml file or another type..

On my 9700 the default sound profile overrides the custom profile. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be the opposite correct? What am I missing or not understanding?

Is there a way to change it back to default or can someone tell me what its supposed to be at so I can change it back to where its supposed be and then I'll create my own custom setting?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.
my phone profile is normal but when some one phones me the ringtone dont play same problem with the notifications is the phone faulty or something I have done wrong?

- all other options (vol, LED, vib, etc) are set to "Active Profile"
- hit "try it" and you get nothing.
- if that person actually sends an SMS, either you dont get ringtone, or it does default Lightspeed tone.
also, if you set any of the other options (vol,LED,vib), the ring tone works: but if you do custom ringtone for voice calls, everything work as it should. started happening after i upgraded to the 428 leak. hasnt gone away since all the hybrids if installed.
I have set a custom ringtone for some contacts but if I have set my phone to vibrate only it still uses the custom ringtone set even though it should only vibrate.Does any one know how to set it so it only vibrates and does not use the custom ringtone when set to vibrate only

I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

Put your Nokia N900 on Silent. Now call your mobile and when the calling screen appears hit the loudspeaker key. Clicking this key will cut out even the vibrations on the Nokia N900, but the phone you are calling from will still hear a ringing tone.End the call from the other phone. Now put the Nokia N900 back on General profile. Call the N900 again from another phone. This time you will not hear a ring tone even though you are back on General profile. (I've checked and my volume was on full)
Atleast this is the problem I'm getting at the moment. Apologies if this problem has been covered elsewhere. I've tried to find it but couldnt so will appreciate if someone can paste a link to it here.The problem goes away if you restart the N900, but I'm hoping this problem can be fixed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I got my Torch, I was really glad that I was able to just set the Normal Profile and then the other Profiles just adjust accordingly when selected. I was messing around with my Profile settings today, and I somehow got my Vibrate Only Profile for the Phone's Vibration settings out of sync from the Normal Profile. Before it had "(Normal)" in front of "Custom" but now it's gone, see attachment. Is there a way I could set it back somehow?

after OS upgrade only 2 of my 3 calendar profiles have entries...the 3rd profile exists but there are no entries history or future...since I had backed up prior to system update tried to restore, still no entries....this is my most used profile too so I am lost without it!

The device is silent for all email except when email arrives from a specific address (for on-call support purposes) .The alerts are actually working for as long as device is not password locked. As soon as I lock the device, whenever the email arrives it remains silent. If I simply unlock the device the device will respond as expected. The devices uses 6.0 Bundle 2647 (v6.0.0.600, Platform 6.6.0.223) on Bell Carrier network.

I also had found in emails you can just use one finger and a pop up will appear with several options one being select text and upon pushing that you get two blue arrows you can highlight text and copy it,but not in FB!
