Jun 22, 2011I'm need help in changing my avatar on my Blackberry Torch. I can only use the pre set ones. I've downloaded a picture to my phone. It goes in my pictures, under the avatar icon. can click on it but won't save as bbm icon.

Nov 22, 2015Never noticed this before but I just got another android phone, Moto X Pure and signed into the phone with my google account. Now I have my name in the contacts with no info except for the name. I also have my name and all info in the contacts. I tried to merge but it won't let anything merge with the user name on the phone. If I have too I will add all of the info manually so there is only one profile in contacts but will I have the same problem when I get another new phone?

One thing I noticed was that on the old curve, you could temporarily inactivate a sound profile for a contact. Motorola Droid :: Wrong Facebook Profile Attached To Contact?
Aug 28, 2011I was trying to link my mom's contact to her facebook profile, and so I added her full name-- Kathy Jones. However, my phone auto synced her to another facebook contact... Katie Jones. On her contact card, I added my mom's cell number and email address, neither of which is the same as Katie's. However, my phone autosynced it with Katie, adding in her phone number and email address to the contact card. AND, because it is a facebook contact, i'm told "facebook contact information is not editable on this device" It's not a dealbreaker, just annoying, as the wrong photo shows up when my mom calls, and I'm afraid that one day i'm going to accidentally select the wrong number/email address.Is there anyway to unlink these? I don't want to disable all facebook syncing, as i like being able to quickly access profiles of my other contacts, and have photos connected to them. I'm just looking for a way to manually tell my phone that these two people, despite having the same last name and similar first names are not, in fact, the same person.

Jul 17, 2010I'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.

Basically I don't want to be woken up in the middle of the night if someone else calls or texts, but it's important that I get calls or texts from this person regardless of the time of night.

Nov 13, 2013I can't get an image to appear for me in Hangouts SMS. I'm referring to the user image on the right side of the screen during conversations/threads. It just shows the generic person graphic.
If I send a txt to myself then the left-side avatar (the sender) shows up correctly (my Google+ profile image), but the right-side image is still the generic one.
At first I thought this was due to me not having an image assigned in the top part of "My local profile" when I open myself up in the People app. I assigned myself a photo but still nothing appears (after a reboot). (I did note that on the N4 there was nothing assigned to that image option either, and SMS simply used my Google+ image.)

I'm wanting to create a new profile to use for when I only want certain contacts to be able to reach me [eg when I'm off ill from work or on leave]. I was able to do that with my previous Nokia and would love to be able to do it again if possible with my Torch. I created the profile but don't know how to load the contacts.

Mar 2, 2012When I got my Torch, I was really glad that I was able to just set the Normal Profile and then the other Profiles just adjust accordingly when selected. I was messing around with my Profile settings today, and I somehow got my Vibrate Only Profile for the Phone's Vibration settings out of sync from the Normal Profile. Before it had "(Normal)" in front of "Custom" but now it's gone, see attachment. Is there a way I could set it back somehow?

But now when i changed my memory card i also formated my phone. I took backup of contacts on sim card. after installing new memory card i imported my contacts back to phone and synced facebook once again with my phone contacts. This time they got synced too but their facebook profile pics are not becoming my contact pictures. I also tried enabling facebook inside xperia but still it didn't worked.
