I have just got a blackberry torch and synchronised all my data to it. I have set my ringtone in the normal profile to Assured but when my phone rings it plays Spirit. I have tried everything and cannot seem to find where to change it

This is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through.If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
My sound profile management is stuck in normal & I can't change it to vibrate, loud, silent, or any other options on that page. Ihave turned my phone off completely, taken out battery and put back in, & still nothing. I spend lots of time in places where you're not supposed to have ringing on, I need at least vibrate.

If I hold it down again, it will start playing again over the other ringtone and my only option is to use the rocker button to silence it but when I turn the volume back up it will still be playing so my only option to stop it is to restart. This is everytime I hold down the power button.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new ringtone the other day. It worked the whole day I had it, I set it up to ring for my texts. The last day or so it doesn't play when I get an incoming texts, the ringtone plays just fine for incoming phone calls.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5, don't get me wrong I like it apart from, when I receive an email notification from my Outlook App (because exchange wont work on this phone at all but did on my Galaxy S4), it plays my ringtone for my phone.
I have been in every imaginable setting going, and my notification alerts are set to beep, which it works for messenger, but any emails that come into my Outlook App and a notifcation pops up on my main screen it rings! I then think its an incoming call and it isnt, it will only stop when a screen swipe and clear.
I have a weird issue. I power cycled the phone and went to unlock it and as soon as I unlocked it the ringtone started to play. I can get the phone to do this on every power cycle.

I have set the rintone as the same for all profiles (Classic phone), and sometimes that ringtone plays, but not always for every contact. Sometimes the phone plays 'Spirit' instead, and I have noticed that if I edit any of my contacts (that have not had a special ringtone given to it), the ringtone is 'Spirit', so what should a contact show in the ringtone selection part, if no special ringtone has been selected by me.

When I went into the sound profiles (I have mine at "normal"), the old settings were still applied, however, when I checked out my contacts, they had all been set to another tone. I usually have them set at "gung **" but all my contacts had been changed to "sanguine".When checking the ringtone for my calls, I noticed that all my contacts had been changed to "classic ringtone" when the sound profile I had my phone on had a custom ringtone.
I don't mind that the texts ring a different sound but I really can't stand the classic ringtone sound so I wanted to know if anyone can help me with this? My phone seems to be working find except for that part. I tried a battery pull already..no help. I read somewhere that I might have to delete all my contacts and put them in again with custom tones for each person, but that seems like a huge waste of time. Help, please!
It started yesterday and it's really rather annoying. It is a video i've never seen before and it isn't in my video library either. The video itself seems to have something to do with vampires and also has a song playing. Has anyone else experienced this/ know how to stop it.

I can't even mute it.The only changes recently have been a new battery, and an MMS forwarded from another user with a Voice Mail in it.The song is not in my music list. My ringtones and sound profiles are all checked. It is very strange indeed.Any ideas why my BB9800 would just start playing a foreign 30-sec sound file for no reason?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone.The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just had my screen replaced on my Torch. Since getting it back, everything appears as if it is in Reverse Contrast but i have it set on Normal. I have done a Wipe, Battery Pull and it is still this way. Currently, i have it set on Reverse Constrast so i can at least see my home screen in normal colors but all media is still in Reverse Contrast.
