But it doesn't offer the option to select a custom one.I've tried putting an mp3/m4a track in the notification folder by connecting the phone to a usb cable and pc, but the tracks dont show up in the select ringtone setting?

I followed the instructions in the documentation, but when I go to the phone app, then to options, it says I should have a 'General Setting' option and I don't. Cannot find it anywhere!
View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone. The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.
I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry phn you can see incoming calls on the screen but you can't hear a ringtone. Every time I go to ringer profile theres a box that comes up that states that the tone I selected is invalid.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy torch is too quiet for me to hear. Ringtone speaker volume is cranked all the way up. Yet I am still not able to hear the ringtone.I noticed that the alarmclock is way louder. When comparing with HTC desire my Torch volume is at least 4-5 dB less. That is a big difference. I consider this a design error, as too loud a ringtone could easily bee prevented by a reasonable default setting and avoided by user adjustment.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just bought a Blackberry Torch 9800 from eBay. The phone is locked to AT&T and I'm a T-Mobile customer. I called T-Mobile and she told me to call AT&T. AT&T can't help me because it's technically not on their network anymore. I tried to call Blackberry but, I'm sorry, there are no humans and my problem doesn't make any sense to the automated system. So, how do I unlock my phone to get it to accept my T-Mobile SIM card?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a new 9810 in April 2012.Very happy with all the features of the phone EXPECT it keeps loosing network. I submitted it for repairs and was issued a New phone. Exactly the same problem- had the new phone for a week.I have tried Automatic & Manual Network selection, both 3G & 2G.I have updated the software and not installed any themes. It can't be a Network issue as i used my old curve without problem while I waited for my new phone from Vodacom.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy boss and I just bought two BlackBerry Torch 9810's under the impression that these phones had the ability to use the phone as a mobile HotSpot. At this point it appears that this function should be availble in BlackBerry OS 7.1. As far as I can see Sprint has just released this update about 3 days ago.I really need to know when this will be available for ATT Wireless, as that is our current provider. My boss is already planning on taking his BlackBerry back to ATT within his 30 day period so he can get a Droid that already has this function if we can't get some reassurance that this option is indeed going to become available and soon.I on the other hand, have had my phone for two months, but would rather have a BlackBerry over a Droid any day, but I did have the expectation that I could use the phone as a HotSpot or at least tether over WiFi, or else I may have sucked it up and gotten a Droid (even though I prefer BlackBerry).

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through. If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?
