BB Torch 9800 :: Create Profile That Is Triggered / By Connecting Wired Headset
Aug 19, 2010the torch clearly can detect when a connection is made to the audio jack - e.g., removing a headphone pauses the media player, and plugging one in pops up a headphone icon and changes the audio level.but I cannot figure out a way to create a profile (with custom alerts, vibration settings, etc) that takes advantage of this info. anyone know how to trigger a profile upon plugging the headset in.

Sep 16, 2011I have found it almost impossible to get a wired headset to work on my bionic when in my car (which has built in bluetooth, and which is bonded to the phone just fine). The only way I can make the wired headset take precedence over the bluetooth, and/or the phone's speaker phone, is to:
1. Make a call in the car (any mode).
2. Plug in headset.
3. Click on the phone's speaker icon (headset works for 1/2 second before sound reverts to bionic's speakerphone).
4. Unplug and plug the headset into the bionic, often 2 or 3 times.
Obviously this sucks and would cause a terrible accident if one were driving and doing all these procedures. I have read every documentation on the phone to no avail. I have called Motorola twice, to no avail (and was hung up on by the tech), and called Verizon tech, who also hung up on me.

Oct 24, 2011I have a new Torch 9860.When I tried to make a call, there was no ringing tone, so after about 20 seconds I looked at screen and saw it has been connected for 10 seconds, but I couldn't hear the other person. Tried again via speakerphone and with handsfree earphones, and these work. Also tried phoning bb from another phone and I hear it ring, when when I answer "normally" I can't hear caller unless I select speakerphone or plug in the earphones.

Oct 9, 2010As soon as i received BB HS-700 i charged it and turned it on and it also got paired successfully with my new BB torch 9800 with the Title " HS-700" But for some reason i deleted this connection from Bluetooth paired devices Section. Don't ask me why i did ... i just did.
Now, i want to make the connection again. And whenever i press Search.. after a while, it says "Phone" is found and then ask the passkey to be entered . Which i use "0000". At the end it says "Unable to pair with. Try again"
It has been now two days and i have read and did every thing to make this connection but the same result.

Jul 14, 2011I have a blackberry torch 9800 on Vodacom South Africa and everything is working fine with the phone, I have no worries there. I would just like to find out. Can I use my universal bluetooth headset to listen to audible audiobooks? I have connected my bluetooth headset to my phone with succes and succesfulle receives calls on it, it works fine. However the moment i want to listen to music or audiobooks on my headset it plays through the phone speaker. Is it possible to listen to music with the headset?

May 28, 2011Suddenly I found I was no longer able to play music through any external speaker or headset on my BB Torch. No one seems to be able to solve problem. BB Replaced but same problem. Complete factory reset solves problem but as soon as anything is restored, problem returns. Interestingly, if I make a call the headset works fine. If I play music, go to menu and try to 'activate headset' I get new window with headset and red dot on it. Coupled with this problem I notice if I go to 'set-up' and select 'email accounts' it will not open. I have had to activate all my accounts via my laptop.

May 12, 2010I have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.
