Been all over the internet looking for answer. Bold 9650 lost any sounds for incoming calls and alarms. Will vibrate and can get Iheart to play through headphones. Is it back to the repair shop or am I missing something.
View 1 RepliesIs anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts. In setting up my profiles, it looks like there are even more options then there were on my 8320. When in 'vibrate' mode, I want my phone to vibrate ONLY, whether to notify me of a phone call, instant msg, email, sms, whatever. But, when my phone is in the holster, it will vibrate and then ping with a sound alert. I was awakened at 4am this morning because my phone was in the holster on vibrate on my dresser and an email came in.I've checked my settings a dozen times and can't figure out how to get it to NOT ping. The settings for 'play sound' are only 'in holster', 'out of holster', and 'always'. There's no 'never' option.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter activating my new 9650, I successfully used AppWorld to download a few apps. A few days later I noticed the Pandora icon was no longer on my desktop. Tried re-downloading but no results (device indicating that I was "replacing" the app). but no real problem because I could still start Pandora through "my world" on AppWorld. Yesterday, I was prompted to download the latest version of AppWorld. I did so and now I have no AppWorld icon and cannot load new apps. I get a message that the media is not supported by my device ( can still operate previously loaded apps with the exception of Pandora).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI own a Verzon provided 9650 smartphone version 6.0 v6. till yday, everything was working perfectly. Since yesterday, i noticed that my Sound is suddenly off. Basically, when someone calls me, even in my "Loud" profile setting (with nothing being on silent in that profile), I cannot hear the phone ring (as if it was set on Silent setting). i can see there is a call coming (just as Silent setting) but i cannot hear the phone ring. If I use the speakerphone icon on the keypad, even then i cannot hear the caller. If i play a stored video, in speakerphone mode, I cannot hear anything and the same result if i play stored music, Similarly, i can SEE my alarm go off, but cannot HEAR it at all. However, if i use a handsfree/headset, i can hear everything, i.e. i can hear the caller, i can hear the music, video, etc. in any mode i cannot hear at all.
I have hard re-booted the handset (i.e.rmeoved battery when the phone is in ON mode) a few times but to no good. Problem still persists. Any help or recommendation would be helpful. I am updated with all my softwares, etc. I dont download anything from the internet (not even music) but do browse the internet (basically 2 or 3 very-well visited news and sports websites like ESPN, etc.
Phone worked great for a week, then I installed the BBDM software and attempted to install a new app and It starts the process but at the end says it cannot connect to the device. Problem is, the BB is now completely reset and has none of my apps, contacts, pictures, videos, or anything else. Any ideas? I'm about to lose it here.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use the Phone Calls Only profile when I go to bed (I figure if it's important someone will call me, I don't want texts, facebook and emails waking me up).I used this profile on the Tour and it worked great.Just tried it last night on the bold and BBMs and emails were not silent, however, my sound settings are all identical to what they were on my tour. My understanding is the profile Phone Calls Only overrides any settings you have, and only makes noise if the phone rings. This was not the case.Is my phone defective, is do I need to do something else to set this up on my Bold?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOK, after some investigation I found out all about changing sounds: email notifications, phone calls, SMS, etc. etc. But I've discovered that my SMS sound will not change. Phone sounds, email notifications, pretty much everything else sticks with no problem.
But SMS notifications WILL NOT change from. . .Sanguine, is it? I mean I can go into the profile edit section and PHYSICALLY change it with the drop down menus, and when I go back there the selection is as I left it, but no matter what that drop down menu has saved, the SAME sound plays for SMS notifications.
It might be worth mentioning that I briefly tried SMSCrunch, and the sound for SMS notification there was Gung **, which I liked and wanted to keep after I uninstalled SMSCrunch. Now, Gung ** will play as a preview when editing, but again, the only sound I get for SMS notifications is Sanguine.
Running OS v.5.0.0.1006 (bundle1644, Platform 4.2.0.437). Sometime today the sound notifications stop working on my phone. Vibration still works and I can hear MP3 songs via the handset speaker only {not speakerphone}. I have tried a hard reset by removing the battery and by pressing Alt-uparrow-Del. I checked for available software updates and it stated there are none available. Any ways to restore the sound for my notifications?

View 14 Replies View RelatedDue to a relocation, I was forced to switch carriers and went from a Bold 9700 to a Bold 9650. I've noticed a few changes that you can hopefully help me with!
1. Does you keypad appear yellowish instead of white? (cosmetic complaint only)
2. Does the ear piece sound "tingy" when turned up? sounds like the speaker is loose and something is vibrating.
3. When i send a text message there is a count down at the top, when i hit 160, it says field full and wno't let me type more, in the past, it would just let me type and send it as multiple text messages. is this a US Cellular thing or a setting i'm missing?

The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?

I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I set reminders on my Z2 through the Keep app or Evernote, it alerts me via vibrate. This is problematic when I am far enough away from my phone that I don't hear the vibration or I'm in a loud place. I would really like it if I was alerted via a notification tone, but I can't seem to find the setting necessary to change that. In fact, I can't seem to change the notification specifics for any of my apps, besides having them on or off. The phone is not in silent mode, the sound is all the way up.

Now it appears there is no way to have both of those settings easily available. Has anyone else noticed this?

I purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
