I swear before Froyo I was able to turn the volume switch down to where the second to last setting had vibrate + no sound and the last setting had no sound + no vibrate. Now it appears there is no way to have both of those settings easily available. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.

View 4 Replies View Relatedso i did the update from modaco and wow, thing is blazing fast, scored 38 on linpack, installed flash from market, www.Internet.com works www.addictinggames.com works, and everything else.it auto detected my telus apn and worked hspa+ right away with no configuring needed only problem ive run into sofar is browser only works on wifi for me, cant figure that one out.but wow! i love the speed of my n1 now!
fixed my browser problem for all telus n1 owners doing this update. after flash, go to settings->wireless/networks->mobile networks->access point names click on the telus one, go down to under proxy put 80 for your port then mms proxy=74.49.0.18 , mms port=80 and it should refresh and work perfectly!
edit: another thing, sending links from google chrome to your phone works on froyo !
so I would like a texting service that gives the ability to show me a preview of the text and be able to customize a vibrate or sound that differs from all other notifications. I tried hangouts and I liked it, but I couldn't customize it, same with the default messaging system,

When I set reminders on my Z2 through the Keep app or Evernote, it alerts me via vibrate. This is problematic when I am far enough away from my phone that I don't hear the vibration or I'm in a loud place. I would really like it if I was alerted via a notification tone, but I can't seem to find the setting necessary to change that. In fact, I can't seem to change the notification specifics for any of my apps, besides having them on or off. The phone is not in silent mode, the sound is all the way up.

When an incoming call, email and or message is received only the LED blinks. I get no sound/ringtone nor does the phone vibrate. I've checked the phone's settings and all appears to be as it should.
After the update, the shutter sound is not silent when in silent/vibrate mode.Also, I am not sure if this is bug, but to activate camera with camera button, now you need to long press the button, whereas before you just had to tap. [Is it a bug or a fix?]But, the previous mentioned is a bug. Shutter should not make a sound when the phone is on silent mode or vibrate mode.

Got this Q9c subscribed to Verizon (Alltel Plan). I want to do a couple of things but can't get anyone to show me how or point me in the right direction.

1) eliminate the on/off sound and change it to vibrate

When in 'vibrate' mode, I want my phone to vibrate ONLY, whether to notify me of a phone call, instant msg, email, sms, whatever. But, when my phone is in the holster, it will vibrate and then ping with a sound alert. I was awakened at 4am this morning because my phone was in the holster on vibrate on my dresser and an email came in.I've checked my settings a dozen times and can't figure out how to get it to NOT ping. The settings for 'play sound' are only 'in holster', 'out of holster', and 'always'. There's no 'never' option.
