The sound for text messages don't always sound. The phone will vibrate and the sound is turned up but it still won't play. I use Google messenger for texting.
View 7 RepliesI seem to not be able to find a a way to turn off my vibrate when my sound is on and the reason I use the sound is so I don't have to hear my horribly loud vibrate on this phone sadly.I used the settings search and I looked at the notifications and sounds multiple times but I still can't find it.

If I have my volume for ringer/notifications set to vibrate and then I access Moto Voice (e.g OK Moto X, what is the weather?) for some reason the volume on ringer/notifications is increased to close to 70% of max. I can actually "see" it happen if I press the volume rocker down to vibrate and then initiate a Moto Voice command. (I am talking about the window that shows up at the top of the phone when you change volumes - I can see it change from vibrate to 70% of max).

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust noticed that sounds will start out at a low volume for first 2 seconds then jump to normal volume thereafter. It is easily reproduced by choosing ringtone sound and previewing or setting countdown timer in the clock app and listening to the expiration alarm. Checked sound and notification settings and didn't see any choice for turning a feature like this on or off.

So sometimes when I try to play a video on a website, the audio doesn't play. The media volume is all the way up and still nothing. I've even tried restarting the phone and nothing. Other times, they play just fine. If I do a search for that same video on Youtube, it plays fine.

I want to:
1) eliminate the on/off sound and change it to vibrate
2) set up the apps (icons) I use the most in the first screen when the start key is pressed
3) set up a way to move data to the sd card and be able to see it quickly in the first screen selected after pressing the start key
My friends that I text keep on saying I'm sending messages twice. This started when I switched the main SMS app from the stock to Google Hangouts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed the update the Hangout today and ever since all my SMS messages vibrate in addition to my selected notification sound.
I have tried everything to turn this off. All the "Vibrate" check boxes are cleared and still it vibrates.
It does not vibrate for Hangouts messages only SMS. Yes, I know there is a separate setting for each message type. All of them have Vibrate unchecked.
I even tries restarting the phone, but that did not work.
my wife and i both have moto x 2014 with latest updates lollipop 5.1 , we can receive mms with photos and can save them but they don't show up either in photos or gallery , where are they saved ?

Here's and example of such a text:
"ԀȂ it before lol. How do I switch?"
I know for sure there was a full sentence before the "it" (saw it on the sender's phone), and that didn't include any weird character/emoji.

For some reason, when I receive pictures from other people in a text message, their pictures are always grainy and low resolution it seems like. View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a bamboo back, and it started to peel so i got a new one today, set everything up, exactly the same as the old phone, and now i have a weird gps problem.Everytime the phone is unlocked, by the power button, or using moto display, the gps icon shows up right next to the 4glte for about 2-3 seconds, and then goes away. The original phone i had did not do this and i dont believe its normal.I only have about 3 apps installed (same as the original phone) and im pretty sure none have access to gps.

I tried to swipe open the lock screen just now, the screen went blank, the sensors don't respond to to me trying to access it, and pressing he power button does nothing. It's been on the charger for much of the day today so I know the battery isn't drained.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my new Moto X (2014), when I'm listening to music via bluetooth (regardless of whether it's a headset or in the car), and I receive a call, the music keeps playing after I've answered the call, so I need to open the notifications tray and kill the music app (regardless of which it is). On my old Motorola phone, when I received a call while music was playing, it was pause the music. Is there any way I can make sure that answering phone calls pauses the music. It's kind of annoying to have my callers listening to whatever music I was listening to while I'm frantically trying to kill off the music app I had open.

Is there a way to send group messages on the Moto X 2014? I tried sending an SMS to 2 people (that both have iPhones) and it sent as 2 independent messages. I want them to be in the same thread so that I don't have to "copy/paste" from one thread to another...I would prefer it to go out as an SMS rather than data, if that makes sense. Basically, I want the functionality of the iPhone group messaging to work on my Moto X.
