View 1 RepliesMy HTC One M8 allows me to have google contacts as well as a local address book on the phone that never get sent back to google. I have about 1500 contacts with detailed info that I do not want to go back to google.I just got a new 2014 Moto X which immediately upgraded itself to Lollipop and when I go into the contacts app, it wants to load anything imported back UP to google. There doesn't seem to be any local address book. I don't know if this is just a Moto X problem or a general lollipop one? My HTC One M8 does not have lollipop.I need to be able to have some contacts sync into my gmail account and others to not be associated with it.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI have the Moto X 2nd gen, and I have been having several issues with the phone, mainly I repeatedly have a "Google Apps" popup saying that is not responding and asking me to report the issue. I get these error maybe 3-4 times a day and restart my phone when the issues doesn't die down.
Also, my phone stops responding at certain times and it just stutters along.
Is this my phone or should I do a factory reset? Also, will the 5.1 update fix any if these issues, I hoping not to have to restore to factory default.
What's this. It just showed up today.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI see that, for certain phones, Google Now has an "always on" option that allows you to activate it even when the screen is off, similar to Moto Voice. This option, however, doesn't seem to be enabled by default for the Moto X (the option doesn't even appear). It would seem a foregone conclusion though that this option could work for the Moto X.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI send group messages for work as well as to the parents of the baseball team that I coach. I have these groups set up in my Google Contacts. Unfortunately groups don't show up on the Moto X contacts. I can't understand why, but they don't. On my Note 4 I can start a text, select the group from my contacts and type my message. It's quick and easy. If I were to do that on the Moto X I would need to select each contact individually. That's ridiculous. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my contact groups and send a text message to them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI sent my phone in for warranty and it reset to factory default. I logged into my google account and I don't know how to restore a backup as it was automatically backed up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my new Moto x and when I go to use google now prompt, it comes on but theres no beep. There is no verbal talk back when I need to enter a pin like it use to on my 2013 edition(android 4.4) either. In addition, I notice that while im in vibrate, it will change my sound settings out of vibrate and basically increase the volume for media so when I click around, i hear the audible "click" too. WTF?
THe google now talk back search responses seem to work fine but the volume sort of fades in and higher as it starts to talk back. Basically, the initial beep and voice upon activating google now doesn't work but responses with search or weather, etc. work ok. I made sure my media volume was up and that didn't work....
I've been using the Google camera app on my phone which I love so far, the one thing I've noticed is that the shutter button taste of a third of the screen and its not see through either. Is there anyway to change this interface like the Motorola camera app where you can take pictures through it through the viewfinder? Honesty love the shutter speed of the Google camera app vs the stock camera app on the phone though.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo we all use a Google Calendar app on her phone at least I do. I have the agenda widget on my home screen and I've noticed it would have to go home but it's constantly loading. For a few seconds at a time. I thought they would have fixed this issue with the last update but it doesn't look so.

I'm getting the "unfortunately Google Chrome has stopped" error message alot recently when using the Chrome browser.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoesn't matter if I use the Google Now launcher to initiate search, or the fixed bar. No matter what, my search goes to a blank page. I can search from the address bar in Chrome or Chrome Beta, just not search.

View 4 Replies View Related"Google Services" is constantly my biggest battery drain. It is consistently 2x more than the next biggest power hungry app "Google Search". These two apps together account for 40% OF MY BATTERY LIFE LOST. I did a factory reset with no impact. The battery screenshots I see here from others never seem to reflect what I am seeing - the screen is always the biggest drain, which I would expect.
My X sees light to moderate use with 2 SOT usually.
So whenever I use hangouts to place a call (to a conference line for example) 3g/4g work fantastically, better than a cellular call. However if I am on wifi the hangouts call audio is constantly speeding up and slowing down, and people complain they cant hear me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems to be specific to my Moto X and does not occur on my Nexus 5 or Nexus 7. If I have an app updating/installing and turn the screen off, no further action occurs until I turn the screen back on. I actually first noticed this immediately after a factory reset. When trying to update the ~28 apps that were out of date I selected Update and then turned my screen off... After about an hour I turned it back on, and none of the apps had updated. They started updating as soon as I turned the screen on.I have tested this on WiFi and mobile data, and I do have background data enabled and WiFi set to always stay on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI receive calls to my Google Voice Number in Hangouts (I only have a Data Plan/No Cellular Voice Plan). When an incoming call comes in, it uses the default Hangouts Ringer (which I don't like). However, I can't find anywhere to set the ringtone for Incoming Google Voice Calls ringing in Hangouts.

32GB model . How much space is actually on it? I currently own a Moto X 2nd Gen 16GB but I find the lack of memory on the 16GB to be a deal breaker for me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedPicked up my Moto X on launch day at Verizon, and every time I make a call, I notice the 4g signal at the top go down to 1x. Kind of new to smartphones, so just wondering what's going on. My wife upgraded to an HTC One M8 last month and her 4g remained stable during her calls. Pic is below ......

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my brand new Moto X for exactly 2 weeks, as of yesterday. I tried to swipe open the lock screen just now, the screen went blank, the sensors don't respond to to me trying to access it, and pressing he power button does nothing. It's been on the charger for much of the day today so I know the battery isn't drained.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I bought a 32 gb Moto X(2nd gen) about 4 months ago.I've tried to download a few games like Injustice,Fifa 15,Asphalt 8 however I am unable to download them.I face no difficulties in downloading small apps and games but the 'error while downloading' shows up every time I try to download a large sized game. The downloading begins initially and this one time even went upto 80% but then it stops and the error flashes over and over again every time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been seeing that when I have my phone charging, whether it be on a portable charger or a wall charger and is just sitting there with nothing downloading, it randomly reboots. I feel the phone vibrate and when I look at my phone I see the initial boot motorola M. Not sure what can be causing this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my new Moto X (2014), when I'm listening to music via bluetooth (regardless of whether it's a headset or in the car), and I receive a call, the music keeps playing after I've answered the call, so I need to open the notifications tray and kill the music app (regardless of which it is). On my old Motorola phone, when I received a call while music was playing, it was pause the music. Is there any way I can make sure that answering phone calls pauses the music. It's kind of annoying to have my callers listening to whatever music I was listening to while I'm frantically trying to kill off the music app I had open.

I showed coworkers this when I got the phone but now after the sensor firmware update and moto updates it seems to have stopped working as it was. The wave over the phone still works.
