While playing Superbowl the handset started to behave differently. After exiting the game some questions marks (????) appeared on the desktop and instead of icons there were only little titles there. Tried restarting the handset resulted in failure to do so (not booting).

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have had this phone for about 8 months and it has always showed me who in my contact list is sending me a text message. It has only shown the phone number if the person texting me is not in my contact list.A few days ago, it started showing me only the number that sent the text message. I have no idea why it started this, maybe some wrong buttons got pushed while I was carrying it around in my pocket? It doesn't always lock when I close the phone, and sometimes I don't notice it when I slide the phone into my pocket.I've tried adding the number to my contact list, and it adds it just fine, but the next time I get a text from that number, only the number shows up again.This is quite frustrating, and I would like to get if fixed, does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?Old messages from before this started happening still show the names.I haven't had it connected to my computer since the phone was new and as far as I know, it hasn't done any software upgrades or anything like that.

I have an iPhone 3G which I unlocked a year ago. Last night I decided to update to ios 4.0.2, then it got locked and I could not use it. Luckily I had a sim from the service provider who i bought it from which enabled me to turn on the phone. I used guidelines from the net and downloaded redsn0w and then os 4.0 which enabled me to open the redsnow finally and of course connected my iphone to my book pro. i went over all the steps and thought I am done after saw the Cydia icon on my iphone (which disappeared during the update)..the only weird thing is that the cydia icon was white not dark red as usual. then i tried opening cydia and follow the step to go to manage etc and enter the famous URL... the result was i got did not find repository and also later i found out that i cannot see my phone icon on the iphone...

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis isn't a major issue either but something that keeps bothering me.I recently acquired the nokia 6700 slide phone to replace my older samsung slide phone.So far I'm fairly satisfied with the 6700 and the functions and applications suits my needs.There is however one thing which I haven't been able to change nor do I know if it is possible to change.my old samsung slide, when browsing the menus and applications, closing the slide would automatically close the menu or application I was using and return the phone to the home screen. In 6700, it doesn't close the application or menu that I'm browsing but rather keeps it open in the background as long as I manually navigate away from the menu or application. I know that the power button returns you to your home screen but is it possible to change the slide setting so that simply closing the slide would automatically close the menu or application and return the phone to the home screen?This is not a major issue but I still find it irritating since I'm used to just closing the slide to be able to see the home screen the next time I open it. Do I just have to get used to pushing the power button to get back to the home screen before closing the slide?

I have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

The upload was successful ( I even checked the memory card). However this voice option is not available on the phone in the Ovi Maps Settings (not for walking or driving).

My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I copy pasted these fancy patterns that I saw in peoples names on bbm, but I copy pasted them from the internet, and after I did that, I noticed that icons had changed in the peoples names, and in place of certain icons there are these wierd oval black icons with writing under it, it also appears when I type in my password for my gmail account. So far I am aware that these bullet dots, - , have been changed into this icon, I've tried reseting the phone and switching it on and off but nothing works. Do you know what the problem might be, and how I would go about sorting it out?

I tried searching google for a specific list of names I could make them that would go with my theme but then realized its theme specific. Any ideas or can any1 teach me how to check? Im using glassklart and there are thousands of app icons so I imagine there are some other folder names that will do what I want that I simply just cant think of.
