Samsung Galaxy S II :: Phone Icon Disappeared From Icon Tray On Home Screen
Mar 18, 2012
My phone icon disapeared from the icon tray on home screen into the application folder. I can not figure out how to put it back on the bottom icon tray on home screen. I also just updated my phone today. Not sure if that has something to do with it.
I have an unrooted S2 running Android v2.3.4, which I connect to my PC using USB debugging off.I do this because I have the Widgetsoid app installed, and use it for one-click USB mass storage access on my PC when the phone is connected.when I connect via USB however (through Widgetsoid or the "clean" way though the Wireless Settings), my home screen seems to refresh, and the Social Hub icon I have at the bottom of the screen (along with Applications, Call and Contacts) vanishes. This happens every time I mount the mass storage, meaning I have to go into the application menu to drag it back into the tray and save it again, but the same repeats each time.
This morning I discovered my SMS icon was missing from the homescreen. i checked in all the folders-- not there. i did the Show All Icons thing-still didnt show up. this has never happend to my friends with blackberrys.
My camera icon disappeared from all my screens. If I use the search function, I can locate it and use it.Why can't I highlight the camera Icon, hit my bb button, and have an option to 'add to home screen'?I think "resetting all my icons" may fix the problem, but will leave me with a bunch of re-customizing fun.
I have a bb Curve 9360 and my text icon has disappeared from my home screen. I can no longer send or receive text messages. I looked on bb tech support page and it said something to do with turning 'fixed dialing" off. I cannot seem to access anything to get it back and working again.
I have no texts I haven't read yet the Textra icon remains visible on my notification bar. When I swipe down there's no actual notification even. I even uninstalled Textra and the icon is still there.
Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
The settings and apps selection icon appear on every home screen panel. I don't want either on my main home screen panel as I keep hitting them when my phone is in my pocket and end up with stuff added or changed. I want them gone even if that means they are gone from every home screen panel.
1) Does anyone know what the tiny icon on the top portion of the home screen that looks like a miniture BB phone with a tiny button on its side means? Showed up yesterday. 2) Yesterday I had a line that stated "Mike Grasso's Network" on the home screen, now that's gone.
I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).
I have a solid red circle on the phone icon at the bottom of my home screen.I Get a notification message come up on my home screen telling me that i have a new voicemail message. When i dial into voicemail it tells me there are no messages.I Have rang my network provider(3) they did a restore on my phone using itunes on my computer(remotely)but the circle is still there.I took it to my local Apple store(Milton Keynes) when he took the sim card out with the phone still switched on it dissapeared. But when he reinserted the sim it came back.
It does it intermittently, and I suspect it's because the whole phone is lagging - too many little background things running I suppose.
Assuming it's the lag problem (making a single press lag so long it seems like a long press), what are some strategies for clearing out less necessary tasks the phone is doing?
I have somehow lost the icon for "contacts". My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!
When I am trying to transfer my phone contacts to my car, the icon that allows this (the three dots and connecting lines) is not on the phone screen. How do I find/activate the icon?
On my previous Galaxy S, I recall having a contact icon thumbnail and his/her name at the top of a message composition/thread screen. It doesn't appear to figure on the S2. Can I reintroduce it somehow?
