Apr 24, 2010When receiving an IM an alert sound plays. Is there a way to reduce the sound level, turn it off, or have it vibrate?

Apr 6, 2010i wiped my 8310 and now i dont recieve any alert tones for my emails. i get all the rest of them but not emails. how can i fix this?

Jan 22, 2010My 5530 is no longer alerting me that i have a message, there is no sound, no pop up message and no symbol at the top of the phone, the only was of knowing i have a message is to go in to the messge menu and look for the start next to the inbox. The rest of the phone is find, alerts me normally when recieving calls.
I have tried restoring to factory setting, hard reset and reinstalling but nothing seams to work.

Nov 15, 2010My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.

When I recieve an email it only shows up on the "messages" folder.My previous BB would show the new mail indicator in both "Messages" folder and the specific email folder it belonged in. If I go to the specific folder, the email is inside, it just will not alert me to this folder.Hope this makes sense.Currently I have 4 specific email folders, a text folder, and a messages folder.
How can I fix this? I have an 8310 that was just replaced by another 8310 thru insurance coverage.

Sep 7, 2010With the latest software update (V5.0.0.807), my Yahoo icon is gone. Cannot locate it.Also, after I perfomed the update, all of the preloaded and my downloaded ring tones are not recognized. States ""invalid ring tone selected, please make another selection" for every one.
Now my phone won't ring, or alert for SMS or email, or direct connect.Video camera also appears not to be functioning. Getting an error message of "Error Playing. device media processor is busy." when nothing else is running.

BB Curve 8300 :: Receiving Only Some Emails And Not All
Aug 10, 2010For some reason I am only receiving a portion of my emails on my 8330 blackberry curve. I have had my carrier's support desk (Verizon) walk me through procedures to make sure I am capable of receiving these messages (which I am receiving on my computer, but not all show up on the blackberry).........and now I am hearing from Verizon that I need to contact Blackberry support. Is there a # to call? I don't know where to start. I can see on the Blackberry email setup icon that I have my verizon email address listed there with the correct password (and again, I am receiving some messages, just not all). Am I missing something here?
p.s. Also, I can't tell a difference between the emails that show up and those that do not...it's not like it's all the 'gmail and yahoo' messages that I don't receive, for instance...seems to be random.
BB Curve 8300 :: Receiving Emails At Same Time And Repeatedly
May 31, 2010I have a curve 8330 through verizon. for the last two days i have been receiving all of my emails constantly every hour. i have over 400 "new" emails in my inbox, most of which i have already received and have been receiving for the past two days. they are all coming in at the same time and have flooded my inbox and are slowing down my phone. i went to verizon yesterday and they re-freshed my connection with gmail but it didn't do anything to help.

Jun 24, 2010I reformatted my BB on Monday, and reinstalled it from backup. Before that, when I'd get an email notification, the LED would flash red and a tone would sound. Now, nothing. I have it set up correctly, and even took it to the store today to see if they could figure it out. All other sounds/notifications work fine, except for email.

Feb 2, 2010When I'm on the phone with someone - anyone, regardless of locaton - I hear intermitent "beeping" sounds on my end of the phone. These are not system sounds or calendar alerts, they sound a little bit like feedback or R2D2 sounds. They come and go but sometimes they are totally annoying. I have asked the people I'm talking to whether or not they can hear the sounds, and they have reported that they can not. I called Verizon and they said they had never heard of this problem before.Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done about it?
