BB Curve 8300 :: Strange Beeping Sound During Calls
Feb 2, 2010
When I'm on the phone with someone - anyone, regardless of locaton - I hear intermitent "beeping" sounds on my end of the phone. These are not system sounds or calendar alerts, they sound a little bit like feedback or R2D2 sounds. They come and go but sometimes they are totally annoying. I have asked the people I'm talking to whether or not they can hear the sounds, and they have reported that they can not. I called Verizon and they said they had never heard of this problem before.Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done about it?
I reformatted my BB on Monday, and reinstalled it from backup. Before that, when I'd get an email notification, the LED would flash red and a tone would sound. Now, nothing. I have it set up correctly, and even took it to the store today to see if they could figure it out. All other sounds/notifications work fine, except for email.
Is it possible to turn off Skype beeping sound whenever a message is being sent over? It gets quite annoying to keep hearing the beeping sound whenever I enter a message to send. I don't mind hearing the beep if I receive a message though.
I've been experiencing the following issue on my Verizon Curve 8330 for approximately the past 2 weeks, ever since I upgraded from 126.96.36.199. I'm currently running 188.8.131.52 (Platform 184.108.40.206).In approximately 80% of the calls I make or receive, I get a very sharp, very loud feedback noise in the call. This occurs if I am using the handset, the speakerphone, or a Bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager 520). Callers have not complained about hearing the same noise so I believe it is just on my side. The noise can happen at any point during the call and often occurs in bursts - say, 2 or three "chirps" in the span of a couple of seconds. I've wiped the handset completely twice and clean-installed 220.127.116.11 from a local copy. It has had zero effect on the issue.Any suggestions?
I want to disable only the beeping sound when you plug it in to charge. I don't want to turn the volume down or sounds entirely off because I use alarms in other non iOS apps which are too soft if I simply adjust the overall sound effects levels (so please don't bother to recommend that). I just don't like that one noise, sounds like a squeal of pain and is unnecessarily loud.
When i have the ringer volume on and i unlock my triumph it makes a short beeping sound for about 2 seconds. If i don't have the ringer on then it doesnt make the beeping sound. Is there something wrong with my phone?
I recently noticed a new icon on my phone that only shows up when making calls. It shows up in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like the service signal bar graph only reversed w/ the larger bars on the left and getting smaller moving right. They also have a white plus sign at the top of each blue bar, background is a black box. Anybody have any idea what this is for and why it only recently came about?
Am using a Curve 8350 and am unable to place calls through contacts folder. When you click on a contact and press send (the phone number is in the contact with area code), it rings once and says that the call cannot take place and it is an incorrect number. When you hand-dial the same exact phone number and press send, it goes through. Any ideas on how to fix?
My Curve 8300 Randomly does NOT Ring when people call me.. or sometimes will not receive texts untill I make a call or something and when I hang up the inbox will have like 10 new messages that it I guess forgot to download untill I made a call. The big thing is though the ringing,, it will randomly not even ring when someone calls me.
I am no longer getting sound from the phone - the ringer does not work and I can't play music.I have tried taking out the battery and it still does not work. The last sound I heard was the alert for a text message and it does not do that anymore. I can hear fine when talking on the phone.I would appreciate help with this as I have not found an solution that works yet.
I have noticed that there is an odd icon (black circle with white arrow inside) in the upper right corner of the phone, next to the bluetooth icon and I have no idea what it is. Anyone ever seen this or know what it is?I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with the sound not working either. I have the profile set to normal, and all calls set to sound and yet when any calls come in, there is no sound at all. I have check all the sound settings and everything is set to have sound, so I have no idea whats going on.Any help would be appreciated.
Is it normal to make a snap when i press ( with little intensity) the upper right corner of the iphone, near the steel borderline (still glass) ? I am very concerned because it leads me to think it is a manufacturing defect.
I am new here, but i have a problem with my E71 and I would like to know what you think about it.Or better, i would like a "nokia pro" to answer to me! 1.) Sometimes when i answer an incoming call, and i say "hello there", the caller only hears " here", its like there is a 2second gap, but when the 2seconds have passed then evrything is normal again. 2.) This consirnes me: When i unlock the phone (the phone is active), and if i put my ear on the keyboard (near the center of the keyboard) i hear a silent, it sounds like the processor. It is wery silent and you have to listen very good to hear it. A bit of that noise i can alsow hear on the speaker when making phonecalls, and thats what bothers me.Now i would like to know if anybody else alsow hears the "piiiiiii" nokise, because if that is not normal i can still take the phone back to the seller! But i have to know till Saturday! Loking forward to your answer!
I just noticed whenever I capture whatever on video doesn't matter if its 720p , or 4K, there is this background noise sound rustling like that doesn't stop, like there is some kind of machine operating....
First time it happened my phone was locked sitting in my lap, nothing lite up just made the sound, 15-20min later I plugged it in to charge and it made the sound again. Nothing ever comes up in notifications just bluooop sound! It has also happened while I have been using my iPhone, while in iMessage and other apps! I have checked every app on my iPhone and sound setting I can think of and can't figure out were it is coming from or why!!
After I updated to 18.104.22.1680, when I want to make a call and im on the middle tab where u see all the calls, when i touch one of the made or receive calls it wont call. I have to push the trackpad or the green button over for the call.
I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?
I've had my Blackberry for over six months, but I've always had a problem with the quality/clarity of the audio in incoming phone calls. It's very difficult to understand the person on the other end -- particularly, but not only, if the person has an accent of any sort. I want to use the Blackberry as my primary phone, but I can't "get" half of what my callers are saying to me.
I'm not sure if this happened after my upgrade to .592, but when I hang up after a call or close the camera, I hear the country song "Your Man". It is so weird. I have my profile as Vibrate, event sounds off, even turned it to silent, it still plays.
Since yesterday i'm facing this problem - when i insert my headset/headphones to my blackberry it continously beeps and when i play the audio files some come good and others are very squeaky. I've swtiched off my phone couple of times and also removed my battery with no luck.
I recently performed a battery pull to re-establish connection with the local EDGE network, and as expected, all the emails that I received while not in contact with EDGE came flooding in. What also appeared was an icon I've never seen before, an orange envelope with a sort or ribbon encircling it, and it only appears in front of the "Email Messages" icon, not the "Messages" or "SMS and MMS" icons, and is not accompanied by the usual tiny envelope icon with the number next to it that appears on the Home Screen whenever I have new messages. I've emptied out the Email folder, but it's still there.
My blackberry Curve got stolen and now I become dozen of mails with the content:"This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.BEGINETP 201AcgdpYkAAAAAIBAIMjcyMTNjZWQgDmYta3dAb25saW5lLmRlAAAsiLNQBUNJQ0FMA0CAgICB..."Is there any chance to track my phone or to find out who is using it right now?
I recently purchased the Curve 9300 from T-mobile. While talking on the phone, I can hear a weird halo effect/ static around my own voice. The person on the other line sounds crystal clear, and I've tried holding the phone away from my face, adjusting the volume etc. I went to the store, and they gave me a new SIM card thinking it was network related. This did not fix the problem. I even got a whole new phone and I'm still experiencing the problem with the sound/speaker.The OS is v22.214.171.1246.
