BB Curve 8300 :: Strange Beeping Sound During Calls
Feb 2, 2010
When I'm on the phone with someone - anyone, regardless of locaton - I hear intermitent "beeping" sounds on my end of the phone. These are not system sounds or calendar alerts, they sound a little bit like feedback or R2D2 sounds. They come and go but sometimes they are totally annoying. I have asked the people I'm talking to whether or not they can hear the sounds, and they have reported that they can not. I called Verizon and they said they had never heard of this problem before.Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything that can be done about it?
I wanted to see if anyone had any advice regarding a beeping problem I have had with my phone. I got my BB 8330 in May, and never had any problems with it until recently. For the last month or so, my phone beeps very loudly whenever I receive a call. It doesn't matter what profile I have it set to, it will always beep. I need to keep my phone on at work to receive emails, but I can't have it beeping loudly during meetings.I always keep my profile set to "off" at work, but it still beeps whenever I get an incoming call.Does anyone have any advice?
Each time I either make calls or receive them I hear one beep about every minute or so during the phone call. This is the only time I hear it. It actually interrupts the conversation for that split second and it's become quite annoying. I'm calling out for some much needed Crackberry assistance.
My BB all of a sudden today started making a "beep beep beep...beep beep beep" sound before it dials a number or before you hear the other person's voice when answering their call. This only happens after you have hit the talk button to make a call or answer it. I cannot figure out how to stop this from happening. The only idea I have is that I used voice dialing for the first time today so maybe this changed some setting to make this beeping sound. Any ideas on how to stop this noise?
Whenever I am in a call as of yesterday, I have noticed an icon that is half black/half blue on a diagonal slant. Its in rectangle shape and it has small like white + symbols going along the slant. All of my calls sound the same and I have not noticed a difference in anything else on my phone.Basically, what is this symbol, and what does it mean?
Not sure what happened but I can't receive calls or make calls. Incoming calls go straight to VM - outgoing calls, nothing. I can't send SMS either. I thought it was a MMS that tripped up the phone - I took out the battery and replaced it. I've also powered it off and on again - still nothing. I am receiving the occasional email tho.
When talking to my girlfriend who has Samsung A-727, there is a LOUD beep sound every once in awhile. Sometimes it happens more often and sometimes not at all. It is just one loud beep.If you have experienced this, you would know because it is deafening. I only experience it when talking with her, no one else. I have the LG CU-500 and did not experience this beep when she had her old phone. Has anyone else experienced this beep?
Is it possible to turn off Skype beeping sound whenever a message is being sent over? It gets quite annoying to keep hearing the beeping sound whenever I enter a message to send. I don't mind hearing the beep if I receive a message though.
I want to disable only the beeping sound when you plug it in to charge. I don't want to turn the volume down or sounds entirely off because I use alarms in other non iOS apps which are too soft if I simply adjust the overall sound effects levels (so please don't bother to recommend that). I just don't like that one noise, sounds like a squeal of pain and is unnecessarily loud.
When i have the ringer volume on and i unlock my triumph it makes a short beeping sound for about 2 seconds. If i don't have the ringer on then it doesnt make the beeping sound. Is there something wrong with my phone?
Yesterday when i was making a call, the call conected and started to ring, but along with this came rapid repeated beeps from the handset as if i had dialed a wrong number or something, but the call conected and i was talking to the other person, but with these annoying beeps that were too loud to hold the phone to my ear to make the call worth while anyway. I hung up and tried again, same thing, tried different numbers and the same again. I switched the phone off and back on which seemed to have solved this, but is this going to be a recurring problem? It was only a few days previous to this that i couldnt make calls at all untill i swithced the phone off and back on as it made the same similar beep but not as loud and wouldnt connect to the other persons number, as if i had no signal, this got very frustrating as i was trying a few different numbers, then tried to call my friend next to me at the time and it called his number fine first time with no beeps. Has anyone else experienced this so far?
Ive been around 2 weeks without a bug on this phone and now this starts to happen, along with the alarm clock problem that happened this morning. I am still on firmware V11
I'm confused. I was deleting some apps from my 9530 and re-booted it. After it re-booted it started making beep noise everytime I touched the screen or a button. I need some help. Has it always had this feature?
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or how to resolve it. I got my 5800 about two weeks ago. With the last couple of days, anytime I make a voice call, there is an annoying beeping sound (sort of like an alarm clock) in the background. I can't remember if I changed any settings etc, but I cannot find anything to turn it off. Does anyone have any ideas?
I hear a strange pop or tick sound when I play music on my 5320 XM another user had the same problem he was advised to update his firmware.but he didn't mention whether the problem was solved or not anyone else experiencing the same problem of tick sound,
I have noticed that there is an odd icon (black circle with white arrow inside) in the upper right corner of the phone, next to the bluetooth icon and I have no idea what it is. Anyone ever seen this or know what it is?I'm also wondering if this has anything to do with the sound not working either. I have the profile set to normal, and all calls set to sound and yet when any calls come in, there is no sound at all. I have check all the sound settings and everything is set to have sound, so I have no idea whats going on.Any help would be appreciated.
Is it normal to make a snap when i press ( with little intensity) the upper right corner of the iphone, near the steel borderline (still glass) ? I am very concerned because it leads me to think it is a manufacturing defect.
after one and a half month of waiting (my phone being in nsc twice), having had it replaced, i was anxious to test my new device with the hope that everything would go well.after excessive testing i found this strange bug:when recording a video (settings at default) and replaying it, strange sounds (like clicks) are replayed as well.these sounds of course do not exist in the environment i am recording.at first i thought it was some part of the phone being loose, but having shakes it quite a lot, no part seemed ...loose.then i tried in silent mode, where nothing was recorded - total silence (as it should).i also tried voice recording which worked as expected - only my voice and normal (ambient) background sound was recorded.so the microphone is working well.so it seems it is a video recording issue and i tend to believe it is the app or maybe a setting i am missing.for your better understanding of it please take a look at this video i uploaded in you tube:
up the volume and notice the clicks, tiks, and various other sounds that never happened when i recorded.any recommendations are welcome - i just hope, i wont have to take my phone back to nsc.
I am new here, but i have a problem with my E71 and I would like to know what you think about it.Or better, i would like a "nokia pro" to answer to me! 1.) Sometimes when i answer an incoming call, and i say "hello there", the caller only hears " here", its like there is a 2second gap, but when the 2seconds have passed then evrything is normal again. 2.) This consirnes me: When i unlock the phone (the phone is active), and if i put my ear on the keyboard (near the center of the keyboard) i hear a silent, it sounds like the processor. It is wery silent and you have to listen very good to hear it. A bit of that noise i can alsow hear on the speaker when making phonecalls, and thats what bothers me.Now i would like to know if anybody else alsow hears the "piiiiiii" nokise, because if that is not normal i can still take the phone back to the seller! But i have to know till Saturday! Loking forward to your answer!
I m getting a strange symbol while doing calls on my bold, this happened just today after months with my bb.nyone can help?? it's kind of square with little dots on the inside!!! what does it mean? can I get rid of it?
maybe this is normal, but for some reason when I put my Storm on its Loud Profile, it puts out a strange alert I've never heard before.I can only describe it as a sort of mechanical sounding chime sound effect. It's definitely NOT one of the alerts/ringtones on my phone (preloaded or otherwise.)It happens at strange intervals... sometimes five minutes apart, sometimes ten, sometimes fifteen. It goes away if I switch back to the Normal Profile. Can someone let me know if this is normal for this to happen? And if so why it happens?
First time it happened my phone was locked sitting in my lap, nothing lite up just made the sound, 15-20min later I plugged it in to charge and it made the sound again. Nothing ever comes up in notifications just bluooop sound! It has also happened while I have been using my iPhone, while in iMessage and other apps! I have checked every app on my iPhone and sound setting I can think of and can't figure out were it is coming from or why!!
Have a 4 cell phones with Verizon. When I got our bill I noticed on one of the lines 403 data calls done 24 hours a day every day of the week and we were billed for 121 of them at .40 a min cause they were made at peak times and were over out monthly shared minute allowance. I know the person that has this phone did not make these data calls.Called Verizon and talked with them for an hour with no help what so ever. They were giving me every excuse in the book. So with some thinking I decided somehow this phone was dialing out on its own even though Verizon was saying that was not possible. Upon checking the phone I noticed an email application. I went into the application and deleted the accounts which basically deleted the applications working. I did this at 5:03 pm on 8/31.
The next morning I went into Verizons website and checked the usage for that line (which already had 117 data calls on it) and the data calls stopped at 4:51pm. I beleive this phone was dialing to update emails at least once an hour. Problem solved I hope.
After I updated to 184.108.40.2060, when I want to make a call and im on the middle tab where u see all the calls, when i touch one of the made or receive calls it wont call. I have to push the trackpad or the green button over for the call.
My phone has been acting slightly weird lately, first evrytime I dial a number it automatically adds a "+" and a "1" to each number (ie: 7185551212 becomes +17185551212), I got used to that.....now there's this symbol on my phone that appears with each call (no matter if it's an incoming or outgoing call), it's always on the upper right hand side of the screen and it's squared with approx. 5 dots that goes across it diagonally; does this sound familiar to anybody? How do I remove both?Just so you know, my calls aren't affected, I haven't changed any of my options and I've done several battery pulls.
After installing 220.127.116.11 (automatically via the Desktop Manager - not a beta release), every few days my 8330 loses all sounds: doesn't ring, no application sound, no tones, Bluetooth headset has no sound, etc. Pulling the battery and rebooting fixes it, but it never did this before 18.104.22.168.
I have set all my profiles (loud, active etc) to have the out of holster to play a "tone" for messages, message alert, sms test and new messages. All I get is the blinking red LED showing there is a messages, no sound. I even went as far as changing the In Holster to the same.
