I've had my Blackberry for over six months, but I've always had a problem with the quality/clarity of the audio in incoming phone calls. It's very difficult to understand the person on the other end -- particularly, but not only, if the person has an accent of any sort. I want to use the Blackberry as my primary phone, but I can't "get" half of what my callers are saying to me.

I have iphone4. All sounds are on and have worked fine until today. Now no sound with incoming calls, text, etc., although my alarm did sound this morning. I have tried turning them all off, turning phone off, then turning everything back on hoping it would reset itself. No luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a 9790 from Telus and I have noticed that it is randomly losing sound on outgoing and incoming calls. With outgoing calls it dials out fine and connects to who I am calling but I don't hear the ringing when the call goes out and I can't hear the person on the other end when it connects. When I receive a call I hear my ringtone but when I answer it I can't hear the person on the other end.The only way I can talk to someone when it is acting like this is to switch from headset mode to speaker.I played around with my phone and sound but could not find a fix. The only thing that works is a battery pull but even that is only temporary. So far the longest I can go is two days before I have to do another pull.
Any ideas on what could be wrong or should I just take the phone back and get a new one? I've heard this is actually an issue with the 9790 so I am a bit worried about replacing it when it could happen again.
No sound at all for incoming calls, txts, games. I have checked the side mute switch. Volume is all way up. All notifications are on. I can hear tones when I go to change them. I can hear my music. I can hear talking on videos I have taken. I have tried everything I know to do. I have had this phone for 14 months so the warranty just ran out!

During Incoming and Outgoing Calls, I have to activate the speaker phone for the person on the other line to hear me. Is this an issue that I can resolve myself (settings or physical dust) or do I need to send my phone in?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my sound on "Loud (Active)" as I always do and then all of the sudden it stops making any sounds or chimes when I receive calls, emails, texts or facebook notifications.My calls and ect.are still coming thru, but just completely silent.I have to look at my screen to see I have a call coming thru and wait for the little red light at the top to see if I have any text messages and whatnot.Does anyone know why this could be happening?Now during the workday I will probably end up missing important phone calls and playing phone tag with people.Any help would be appreciated

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 9700 that I got back in December, and I have a problem.Just today, my 9700 started exhibiting a strange problem whereby it will not produce ANY sound at all for not only incoming calls, texts, e-mails, etc. but also it won't play any sound if a play an mp3.I've done numerous OS reloads, tried different versions of OS, but nothing.
What I have found, though, is that if I push in on the screen slightly, it will produce sound. Why is this? Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Can Receive incoming calls but cannot make outgoing calls. Plus texting is working find both incoming and out going.

My iPhone 4s will vibrate on all incoming calls and on notifications, however, there will be no ringtone or sound on notifications.

I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

The call comes through fine when I do that. I have tried pulling the battery several times, but this does not correct the problem. I am unable to receive calls (NO NUMBER DISPLAYING) and my service provider asked me to contact blackberry as all their setting are ok. ARROW TOP RIGHT CORNER BLINKS when caller is ringing my number but no number displaying.
I can receive call only on call waiting. I can't even see the call waiting options to disablem it on my blackberry.
