Sound is not working when I get text messages or other alerts and notifications. Phone only vibrates. I have already checked settings. Even keyboard clicks are not making a noise and under settings it is set to make a noise when clicked

I have just upgraded to the 400.* firmware without major issues. I was pleasently surprised to see the new Chat application. Although not the best it works on my unlimited browsing service where no other IM app will so I am thrilled!
The one issue is that there is no sound or vibration alert for new messages (using Google Talk). I have checked and unchecked the more->options play sound/vibration boxes without effect. Is anyone else experiencing this?
My iPhone 4 volume works perfectly when I receive a call but it is completely mute for texts, emails etc coming in. Also there is no sound when using the keyboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday my N8 stopped vibrating when it recieved a text message , I enabled vibration alert in the profile and checked if it was a hardware problem by calling . The phone vibrates when it gets a call but it doesn't vibrate when a message comes ! I did not install advanced battery monitor also ! I reset my phone and re-installed the latest firmware also , but still the problem persists
View 7 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple of days, my phone (iphone 4) has been random vibrating and/or making various sounds. When this happens, there are no notifications. It will just sound or buzz for what seems to be no reason. Most of the time, my applications are not on. I have push on for my mail application, but that's it. The phone is in good condition, it's never been dropped or damaged in any way.

In messages under settings, I have chosen my notification tone. But nothing not even the light flashing anymore. As of now I don't know when people are sending me a text message.
AFter recent upgrade to ios 8.1.1, my iphone 6 no longer makes text alert sounds and ring does not sound for incoming calls (except on car bluetooth).Â

Occasionally the sounds on my LG VX8600 just shut off for no apparent reason. I can still make and receive calls and hear people talking but the phone doesn't ring, makes no alert sounds of any kind and doesn't even beep when using the keypad. The only way to get the sounds back seems to be restarting the phone or going to the tools and settings menu and viewing the volume. The volume settings aren't changed and I don't need to change them to get the sounds back, just viewing any volume setting seems to be enough.

I feel like before I updated that the same exact sounds were very loud if I had the alert volume turned all the way up, but now not so much. I would think it's my custom sounds that I have for texting and email arriving, except the factory default alerts are also very soft now too. It's certainly not the speakers themselves, because if I play music, it's blazing loud.

I have an iphone 4s and the sounds have stopped working, or at least part of the sound has stopped working. I can still get a ringtone, voice mail on speaker and voice memos I can still hear. But notifications like email, messages and notifications of other apps are only working on vibrate. Occasionally, part of a tone for a message will sound. It did this several weeks ago and then all of a sudden it started working again. I'm not getting any sounds on games. I have checked all the settings several times, done hard resets, turned it off and on many times. I've done everything I can think of aside from reformatting (or whatever it's called for iphones). Has anybody had this issue? I've turned the sound switch on an off many times. When I press the volume controls, the image of the sound bell does not appear. Can't listen to music, headphone jack doesn't work either.

The phone's volume buttons suddenly stopped working and today the phone is in a constant vibration mode even when not using. This started when a call came and ever since then the phone is constantly vibrating. Can feel the motor running at the back but not sure why it is running in such a hyper mode. So a few days ago I dropped my iPhone 4. I'm not 100% sure but I think that is when my sound stopped working. The speakers are working fine, I can hear music and things like that. None of the phone sounds such as clicking when lock/unlocked, keyboard clicks etc are working. When I press the + and - volume buttons the icon does not appear, same as when i mute/unmute it. No sounds, nothing appears. Also, when I receive incoming calls the ringer no longer works.
I have tried cleaning with toothbrush, restarting, restoring, blowing in the phone, etc.
