I had a system update on my brand new s6 and now it won't vibrate for notifications it works for the keyboard and when it turns on and off so the motor is good. And I went into setting and it's all on. But I just can't get it to work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon Galaxy S5 for a few weeks now. When I set up the phone I set the notification for the Emergency Alert System to notify me for all but Amber alerts. Thought it was a great feature since I'm not home alot and always have my phone with me.
Since doing so there have been several National Weather Service extreme and severe weather alerts in my area which were broadcast on both TV and radio however I never reveived any alerts via my phone. I contacted Verizon who were basicly useless with giving me an explanation or solution, I spoke to three people and I got three different answers. One rep I spoke to said that it depends on what angency is sending out the alert and that verizon may not have been notified of any local alerts. So at this point I am a bit confused as to how the system is suppose to work? If both radio and TV media are sending out the alerts why am I not getting any via my phone? Isn't the point of this feature to get alerts through your phone should you not have access to a radio or TV?
I'm using an app that configures a vpn profile and connects to it. When I'm connected, I want just my notification to be shown, but android provides its own notification that is shows and I can't seem to get rid of it. Any possible way to get rid of this without root?

I notice in vibrate only that different types of notifications have different vibrate patterns, but I don't know if they're tied to the audible notification or by notification type (email, text, or general?).
It would be nice in the winter when walking outside to be able to tell what the notification is without having to pull the phone out of my pocket. Usually a winter coat or just outside noise drowns out the audible notification.
I just got an S6 and immediately rooted via ping pong. The problem I've got is that the phone downloaded the 5.11 update and then asked me if I wanted to install, which I obviously don't. I just used the back button to leave the update screen, but now I'm left with a notification saying "System Update - Update Postponed".
Can I get rid of this somehow?
My Android keeps doing a system update every 15 min. How do I stop this. It keeps going back to home screen when this happens.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust picked up the M8 and I'm super pleased with just about everything on the phone with the exception of a few things. One of the few things that bugs me about this phone is that I'm constantly missing texts, and e-mail notifications if the phone is in my pocket.
On my old phones, I'd rely on vibration to let me know when I receive incoming texts, or notifications, and on the M8 it seems theres only a single option to enable vibration and not anywhere to intensify, or even change the vibration patterns when receiving texts or other notifications.
Is there anything built into the phone that can intensify the vibration or possibly make it vibrate for a longer duration? I'd hate to download a third party app just to do this, but if thats my only option then I'll be happy to do so.
During a call, if there's any kind of notification (email or sms) or alarm the phone will annoyingly vibrate which I and the other person can hear.I've looked in the settings and haven't found a way to only turn off vibrate during calls. The only thing in the settings I've seen is to just turn of notifications completely, which I don't really consider a solution since I would like my phone to vibrate when things come in normally.I've missed the simple setting that stops vibration during a call.

View 13 Replies View RelatedOver the past couple of days, my phone (iphone 4) has been random vibrating and/or making various sounds. When this happens, there are no notifications. It will just sound or buzz for what seems to be no reason. Most of the time, my applications are not on. I have push on for my mail application, but that's it. The phone is in good condition, it's never been dropped or damaged in any way.

Shouldn't this be as straight forward as going into notifications, turning vibrate on and sound on?Apparently not as this doesn't do anything. Sound and vibe works for my other notifications. Outlook is my only issue right now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using my Droid X problem free for about a month but this morning my phone completely stopped vibrating. It worked properly when my alarms went off around 7 AM but when I got to work around 8:30 there was no notification vibrations, no haptic feedback, and the phone didn't vibrate when I set it to vibrate mode. I didn't touch the phone at all between the time I woke up and the time I pulled it out at work (except to shut the alarms off) so I'm just very confused as to why all of a sudden the vibrate will not function. I have tried rebooting, battery pulls, and changed every vibration setting I could find but to no avail.

ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.

I press the power button plus the volume up and i can see what it is installing it goes through the same thing over and over and just reboots back in the recovery booting again when its done installing...what is causing this i cant do a system reset either it wont let me (volume up +home+power ) does not work , removing the batter does not work (soft reset)...

Normally functioning phones seeing this message before getting to their cache wipe?
I've done full Factory Resets twice now and also many cache wipes but I'm wondering if that original T-Mobile update on the first day got hung up and won't fix itself even with Factory Resets. And, wondering if perhaps other T-Mobile users have the same problem too causing the litany of issues we've seen.
My Galaxy S6 was one of the loudest phones I've owned. Its still loud but only when listening to music or watching YouTube, every other app isn't as loud anymore.
For example, I got a music game, when I listen to the song from the music player its perfectly loud, when I listen to the same exact mp3 in the game its no as loud anymore like it use to be.
Is this a known bug? is there a fix or update coming to address this?
PS: I noticed this RIGHT AFTER the 5.1.1 update (on verizon) before every app in my phone was loud
I charge my 5s phone at night, and about halfway through the night my phone starts to vibrate to notify me that it is done charging which is great but it constantly wakes me up as it goes on all night. is there a setting I am missing to turn this off? my wife's 5s does not do this nor does my son's ...

kies advised that a system update was available for my S5 so I updated. Since then, my alarm doesn't sound in silent mode and system doesn't allow me to change sounds of silent mode.
I've tried 3rd party alarm as well, but didn't make a difference.
I went into messaging then settings and checked preview message and it still doesn't do anything. this is really annoying.

How to get rid of the system notifications (see pic). The ONLY notification I want to see on the lock screen is my SMS's. I have managed to get rid of all of the other notifications (By holding down on the notification, clicking the "i" and changing the setting to "no" to receiving notifications.) However, there is no option to get rid of these sorts of notifications at all from what I can find. They all seem to be system notifications. For example, low battery, whenever I take a screen shot etc.
I am trying to get rid of these notifications permanently. I know how to temporarily remove them (by swiping it off the screen) but I don't want them ever showing up on my lock screen at all.
I called samsung checked all setting all look good. I have three s5 just updated second one same problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my wifi Xoom will randomly display either the notification volume or system volume sliders on screen when either the up or down volume buttons are depressed. I can tap the "settings" icon to the right of the slider on either one and both of them display. They also don't display the same way everytime either. Sometimes, system will be on top and notifications on the bottom and vice-a-versa.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically I never get any notification of app updates, not do they update automatically. I have to go into app store regularly, then to updates and thereafter it shows the updates available, and shows the badge on the app store logo (ie red 3 for three new updates).
I've tried logging out of the current apple ID, powering off, on, putting apple ID back, no difference.
Tried turning off automatic updates, powering off, on, putting it back on, no difference (it's currently set in obviously).
Also difficult yo test as each time I need to wait for new updates to be issues to see if it works or not.
