On the Android we can use "OK GOOGLE"... Is there a voice search on the Icon?

Lumia Icon :: Search Button Not Illuminated
Jan 14, 2015I got an Icon from an eBay store, called "reconditioned" but looked new to me. I used it for a day or two and then enabled PFD (couldn't go another day without it :) and the next day noticed the search button no longer lit up. Finally did a hard reset but no diff. So: hardware failure, return for replacement (they're good about that) or possibly software, wait for Denim?

Feb 11, 2012Trying to use app Map on Lumia 800 I am not able to find the search icon on the map allowing me to search for a place or business or shops etc. The only available icon is the search icon outside the map which only is used to search internet giving me a list of links which can not be connected to the map. I have tried to follow the instructions given in the manual however with no success. It all stops after launching the map. Note: This problem affects only the use of Map (Bing) and not Nokia Map or Nokia Drive. What am i doing wrong?

Mar 1, 2015I have just been getting to know windows phone UI recently with my purchase of the Icon. I have not got it running with sim on my carrier yet, but just after setting it up and exploring everything......I am missing the always there voice to text ability in the keyboard that my Moto G and Nexus 7 tablet have.
Though I do get the voice icon with a few app's keyboard....I am wondering if there is an add on for the stock keyboard for the Icon and Denim? I really miss the vastly implemented voice to text on my other android devices.
Lumia Icon :: Skype Voice Calling Not Working On Phone
Oct 13, 2014I got a new Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon Wireless contract. I installed skype and when trying to make International Voice calls, all I see the blue backgroud with Skype call outgoing icon and then nothing happens. Sometimes, the call gets active as in it shows the seconds counter of the call,but nobody can here anything on either side of the call. I do have some credit balance in my Skype account.
I tried re-installing the app but to no avail.
Previously, I had an Android device and when I tried to make same International mobile calls now in it, I am able to connect and talk without any issues. I also chatted with an Skype support team and they also couldn't get much. They said that I am reporting such type of issue for first time and told that one of their tech specialist will get in touch with me once they have completely assessed the issue.
HTC One M8 :: Texting Over WiFi With Google Voice App
Aug 13, 2014With my old phone - the HTC Evo LTE - I used to be able to text over wifi with the Google voice app. I can no longer do that with this phone. I can go to the Google voice website and send and receive texts over wifi that way, but I don't get notifications that way. Is there some setting that is off in the app? Or did they just decide to disable that feature? Google hangouts doesn't text over wifi either.

Dec 6, 2010Well, to start off, I'm in Malaysia, and apparently features differ in regions. However, I have no idea if this is me or others as well. Anyhow, it seems that I can't use TTS(Text to Speech) at all, even with Voice Data installed. And, my device didn't come with the Voice Dialer or the Voice Search apps, and they never did pop up after the 2.1 Update.

Jun 6, 2014I got my Xperia Z2 today, and I found that teh Google Now voice option doesn"t work, It looks like it's recording, even when there's no sound at all. It completely ignores me when I speak. There is no relation to my speech and the red indicator flashing. Then it goes back to "Say "Ok Google" or tap mic". In fact other voice functions such as in the google play store, or google maps, or google voice typing don't work and exhibit the same bizarre behavior. Just to find out, I tried voice functions on a third party keyboard app (Swype) which doesn't seem to work too.
I have done a factory reset, updated to the latest firmware, updated the apps, but still the problem persists. I suspect the hardware is to blame, not the software.

Jan 6, 2010I just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

Jun 21, 2013This is for a 32GB One, (AT&T carrier). I use the phone to listen to music on a motorcycle, specifically to stream Pandora and I plug the phone into the sound system of the bike. Not sure how important it is but the only time this happens is when it is plugged into the bike so it seems odd that Voice search would do anything- I assumed the built in mic would be inactive since the phone thinks it is connected to a headset but I haven't tested that (just a thought).
The problem is that the phone will launch Google's voice-driven search application for no apparent reason. I have tried turning Google Now off and went into the "Voice" settings and disabled hotword detection but the app still randomly launches.
When the app self launches, the phone goes nuts cutting out Pandora, tries to dial various numbers (but typically is a re-dial of the last number). I am too new to Android to realize what is launching this and can't figure out how to kill or disable Voice Search. I have tried going to Settings-->Apps and all apps but I could not specifically find the Voice Search app.

Jul 22, 2012My voice search doesn't work when I am on wifi data. It keeps thinking over and over and comes back with no results. But when I switch to mobile data network it works fine and returns the results right away. I can not even use speech to text feature while on wifi it, it does the same thing as voice search on wifi. I am not able to find out what the problem is. The formatting was incorrectly checked causing all caps. Just changed the formatting to correct that.

I was wondering if there's any way to access search from the lock screen - the Jelly Bean FAQs mention that it's possible to access voice search by "swiping up on the lock screen", but that doesn't seem to work. Is it just not possible with the Razr HDs software, or am I missing something very obvious?

Jul 14, 2015I install an app on the playstore for remote control of kodi on my htpc computer , after uninstalling it , noticed when I long press and hold my home button It no longer opens up voice search, it opens google now cards page I then have to click on the mic button at the top to perform a voice search.
Is there a way to reset this ? , I uninstalled updates on google app cleared data ect , now when I press and hold my home button I only get these 2 options.
If I select "google" it opens google now page (same way as above)
Looking for a way tog et pack the long press home button and you can instantly start talking to the google voice .
I am stock rooted...
