View 1 RepliesMy wife and i both have the Lumia 1520, she's been having problems with the phone zooming in. She'll be on instagram and for some reason the screw will zoom in and can't you do it until I reset the phone, also noticed t that the screen will shake at times. Is there a fix for this in settings or is it a bug? Bought the phone 3 weeks ago.

If you swipe up from the top half of the screen you will likely get immediate movement of that screen. It seems as though when the phone performs screen transitions that the top half of the screen gets its touch enabled anywhere from a half a second to a second or two faster than the bottom half of the screen.
This became really apparent with the new animated lock screens that were just released. With one of those installed (aka the first choice in the list of animated lock screens), if you unlock your phone, try immediately swiping up from the bottom multiple times rapidly on the Start screen once it becomes visible. For me, it doesn't register a swipe for almost 2 seconds. But the top half of the screen registers a swipe almost instantly. It does have a little more of a delay on the top half than it does if you use just a normal lock screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is trying to create a photo book on shutterfly, and pictures taken with her 1020 and uploaded to onedrive are fine, but any photos taken with my 1520 will not upload. I tried opening them up in Lightroom, and they will not work in there either unless I first download them from onedrive. Once I download them, open them in lightroom, and export them from lightroom, they work fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my 1520 set with to require a PIN to unlock it. After updating to WP8.1 sometimes when I use the keypad it will register multiple taps even though I only touch the number once.
The only way I am able to get around this is to lock it again and then bring up the keypad again. This does not always work first time, it might take me locking it a few times.
I just got my 1520 and it is very productive. How to open Password protected OneNote on 1520?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll my various folders from my tablet's OneDrive were transferred automatically to my Nokia Lumia's OneDrive. However, all the files in my "Favourites" folder show as only 1kb each and have the words "Just me" under each entry. None of them will open. When I try to open one, a warning comes up stating:" We couldn't open the file. Make sure you're connected to a Wi-Fi network" (Which of course I am). Maybe I need an app to open these "Favourite" websites. But which one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed that the Lumia 1520 (brand new, bought last week) sometimes has the haptic feedback/vibrations turn off by itself when pressing the navigation buttons on the phone. However, they are set to on, in the 'touch' settings (running Lumia cyan now).
When I do a soft reset, the buttons start working for a with vibration, then stop (just to note, they work, just the haptic goes wonky). I tried giving the phone a call - the vibration still works, just doesn't seem to work.
Since the 8.1 update hit my 1520 completely drops my home WiFi and I have to find and type the code back in every few days. An one else having this problem and a fix or how do I go back to 8.0 and I also miss the speech recognition on the 8.0 version.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDid I miss the memo that says deleting lo-res photos will somehow not allow one to open the hi-res versions? I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a new Lumia 1520 owner and had been using an iPhone prior. On iPhone, I could take a screen shot just by pressing two buttons simultaneously and it would do so. With the Lumia, it seems I can only save a photo that's displaying on my screen. But what if I wanna take a screen shot of a text message conversation.
View 6 Replies View RelatedGot a new Bold today. On the BB I replaced, when I opened the homescreen, six icons appeared along the bottom. If I wanted to see all my icons I clicked the bear claw and they all showed up (so, one click). On my Bold, six icons appear along the bottom when I open it, as well, but in order to see all my icons, I now have to click the bear claw, then click "open tray," so twice the number of clicks - a small but really annoying difference. Can you tell me how I can avoid that first step and automatically open the "tray" when I click the bear claw when I am on on the homepage?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Lumia 1520 that I ordered from China a month ago from Ebay. It's still under the seller's 90-day warranty.I noticed recently two problems:
1) On a white/light background, there are a few brighter spots on the screen.
2) On a black/dark background, when I tap on the phone, there is colour distortion in a few specific areas. Those areas being 1/2 inch above the back button, and on the area of the screen that would be above the camera module. If I drop the phone from a height of a 1/2 inch of so onto a solid surface, these areas become especially pronounced.
I first noticed these problems after I put the "Kaleidio Dual Layer Armor Hybrid" case on the phone. Taking the case off improved the problems, but not completely.
Should I return the phone for a replacement? Or are these problems fairly standard with the Lumia 1520?I absolutely LOVE the Lumia 1520 with Windows 10 installed - it is exactly what I want from a smartphone.
I've had issues on WP 8.1 and 8.1 DP where the lock screen will jitter when attempting to unlock phone by sliding up. It doesn't always happen but enough where its worthy of complaint.

Is there a solution ? or the Service Center is the place to go.
I've been using the Lumia 1520 for almost 3 weeks now, and so far I noticed two things , one it rebooted two times , once when I opened calendar and another when I opened battery saver , it's a bit weird and hope it doesn't happen again.
Okay the important thing , there are some blank lines beneath apps like viber and whatsapp, moreover there's a big line just in the middle of the Facebook messenger app, so is it me ?
Tiles jumping on home screen. They go up and down on the screen , touch screen doesn't respond. Only way to fix is to reboot the device ...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding adjusting the screen brightness. I am visually impaired and I want to turn it down as much as possible since I am using Narrator the screen reader in Windowsphone 8.1 so I get Everything in speech.
Well, if I turn the screen brightness down to low, is it easy for someone to see what I am doing or is there an app that will let me almost do the screen dark? On other platforms there are.
Today my phone's screen suddenly went unresponsive to touch. As of now, touching it doesn't do anything, so the phone is inoperable. This did not occur as the result of a drop or other abuse. However, I have seen the numerous "ghost swipe" posts, and I will admit that I always carry my phone in my front pocket, face down. However I put my phone on a flat surface and it didn't seem to be bent.
The interesting thing is that sometimes, touching the upper left hand corner of the screen will issue a vibration just like the one you get from pressing the capacitive buttons on the bottom. And 3 times I have actually opened Cortana from pressing and holding near the top left corner of the phone, above the LCD. I've attached a picture where I have highlighted the places where touching the corner can issue a vibration - the blue area provokes the vibration and the yellow dot is where I've managed to open Cortana.
All of the other buttons on the sides work fine, I've done many soft resets but I'm reluctant to do a hard one. Right now I'm probably just going to get the screen replaced or something, or do you think that the screen's not the problem?
My wife's new 1520 has the 8.1 developer preview on it. She has been using it for a month or so & then recently as she was using it, the screen would completely turn black. A second later (or 1/2 second) everything on her display would come right back up. It appears the same as if you were changing the display resolution on a pc, the screen blanks out for a second & then to the new resolution. The phone isn't hot, nor was it recently charged. It doesn't matter what app is running. In fact, I hard resetted it yesterday & it still does it.
I noticed yesterday, after I completely resetted it, I was using IE & the screen went blank, then back on, but the screen was upside down. This lead me to believe it was a sensor, so I turned on the rotation lock. Since then it has never come back on upside down, but it still goes blank. It really appears as a hardware issue. I started with a clean slate & the problem still persists.
I have a fresh restore of 4.4.4 with all the latest updates and chrome. I've added a couple of bookmarks to the home screen but when I click then, Chrome opens and nothing happens. This didn't happen before I done a restore.
