View 1 RepliesThe display screen on my Torch 9800 goes black when I slide open to access keypad.
View 1 RepliesWhen the slide is closed the screen turns on just fine, but when I slide it up the screen turns off. Also, possibly unrelated, it seems that the touch screen just stopped working as well whether or not the slide is open. The phone also will not connect to BB Desktop. I've had my torch for just over a year and I don't believe I have a warranty for it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Blackberry Torch now for about 10months and last week i think i may have got it slightly wet after i tried to answer the phone when getting out of the bath. Since then it has been ok but last night when i slid open the screen everything went black. As soon as i slide the screen shut it works again! This basically means that i can only use the phone as a touch screen phone when it is down (which isn't good for me as I always text using the keypad when it is slided open).I called o2 and they said before they send it off to be repaired that i should try upgrading all of the latest BB software as that might fix it. I have never had any upgrades but will this really be able to fix my screen? Is there any other way i can try and fix the phone myself?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry torch 9800 was working perfectly fine untill for some unknown reason the screen went completely pixelated, from then on it appears to be normal until you slide open the phone to use the qwerty keypad, therefore i can only use the phone when it is slided shut and have to rely on the touch screen. the only way to get the screen back to normal is to slide it shut and repeatedly press the lock button until it restores itsself and on multiple occassions i have had to remove the battery for the phone to go back to normal.
does anyone know if this is a software problem? or a maufacture problem? or has it been damaged? and is there anyway to fix it..
I thought originally when purchasing the Torch that I would probably use the touchscreen 99.9% of the time...but I seem to be using the slide out QWERTY keyboard more often than not! So, which keyboard do you prefer?

And i have to take out the battery and insert again for it to function properly. I am in Pakistan so i cant take it to any Sony franchise.. I got it checked here locally and found out that the slider strip is damaged. Can u tell if its really the strip and if so can u parcel me the strip if i pay for it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Torch 9800 is three months old now and last week, the browser started acting weirdly. In any website I go to, twitter, yahoo home page or tumblr, there would always be white blanks or cuts that prevent me from seeing the whole page. It isn't just one cut, as i scroll down there will be white cuts every now and then. It isn't something related to poor internet connection either, I tried testing it standing beside our wifi internet router with full signal and still the page loads like this.
There isn't a Blackberry service center here in the Philippines and the nearest is either Hong Kong or Singapore. The telecom brand that I got the phone from advised me to try resetting my phone back to factory settings so that maybe this glitch might clear up. I asked them if it was something that could be solved by updating or is a result of accidentally changing some phone options. In the end they told me to back up my phone, bring it to them so they could restore it to factory settings, worse comes to worst that it's still not back to normal, since it's still under warranty, they'll gladly give me a new one.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?? Does it have something to do with updating? lack of memory space? accidentally changing browser options/settings?Here are links of what it looks like. I took the liberty of screen munching it so you guys can understand what im trying to say [URL]..
I have a Neo MT15i which was upgraded to the latest ICS patch through the OTA update. A few days late the phone suddenly appeared dead, and when i restarted (had to remove the battery), i get the phone start vibration but nothing appears on the screen.
I connected it to a PC and the PC companion was able to detect the phone, and i could even do the firmware upgrade. However the phone display refuses to switch on and none of the lights come on.
I then gave it to a local phone shop who said it was an issue with the phone and replaced the display and downgraded the firmware to 2.3.3. Again it worked for a few days and the same problem where the display shut down but i could get calls occured.
I tried many options given in the forum for xperia phones (press the power and volume up, remove battery and connect the charger, and then add the battery, etc) but no avail. now i get the start vibration from the phone, but nothing more.
E6 #1 (made in Finland): had to bring it to repair service because of pathetic battery lifetime and no notification light.Got a new one 2 weeks later:6 #2 (made in Hungary): had to bring it to repair service, as the screen blanked out when making or receiving a call (proximity sensor broken?). Notification light issue unchanged, Couldn't test battery as it went back to repair after one day only.Got a new one 2 weeks later (i.e. today): #3 (made in China):first of all I upgraded to OS V22. Needless to say notification light didn't change. Besides:- battery cover wobbly, a fraction of a millimeter too short. Chinese quality issue?- bluetooth doesn't work properly. A connected and authorized headset (that worked well on the previous 2 E6s, an X7, an E72, a Blackberry etc.) doesn't connect when being turned on. Have to connect manually when wanting to make call.
- screen blanks out when making or receiving a call. SAME ISSUE as on the Hungarian version! Will bring it back to Nokia repair tomorrow. Will HAVE TO look at alternatives, I just can't continue like that.@NOKIA: I really really really wanted to like this phone. But the design failures that you made (notification, vibration, battery) and your quality control are just PATHETIC, MISERABLE, ANNOYING. I don't have words. Where has this great company gone?.S. will have to downgrade my positive Amazon rating tonight significantly. I can no longer recommend anyone to buy this phone.y Nokia history:2110->8110->6110->6150->8210->8850->6310i->8910->6600->6230->6260->3230->E60->E50->E65->E71->E55->E72->N97mini->C7->E6->X7->E6->?
Torch 9800. Browser won't open. Also if I select a hyperlink, the browser won't open either. I have tried rebooting the device but did not have any luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter recent OS upgrade to current OS v6.0.0.600 my browser email such as hotmail won't spawn links embedded in an email. The link is hot and can be clicked and open but does not do it automatically as it did on former OS versions. Now here is the interesting part. If I turn off phone antennae and go WiFi, it works perfectly. I prefer to read browser email as such and not deliver it to my BB inbox.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe purchased two 9800 Torch phones and both are having the same issue. Word, Excel, and PDF files all open fine on the devices. However, some emails will be received with attachments but the phone does not give the open or download attachment options. If you forward the message from the device, the attachment will still be attached. The issue is intermittent and I have not been able to pin down any consistently as I have received several emails with attachments successfully. The emails that will not give the attachment options also do not have the little paperclip on the email icon from the messages view. Again, hen this exact email is forwarded the attachment will arrive at the destination.
BES version 4.1.7.19
Both users had no issues on prior devices with multiple attachments opened daily.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a thread or would like to create one that will instruct a newbie on how to clean up (or hide) those apps I don't want or use, on the main screen. Also would like to know recommendations as to best apps to have, that don't suck memory. (Maybe an app to free up wasted space?)
View 13 Replies View RelatedOn my Blackberry Toch 9800, it seems to freeze up on several occassions, most recently when downloading an application from "App World."After downloading an application from App World, when you run the application for the first time, it will ask you if you want to "share personal information." Whether it is checked or unchecked, the screen just freezes up after clicking "OK."
Is there a fix for this? This is a brand new device and I am already experiencing several screen lock up issues. I have already done a hard / soft reset, as well as a battery pull. I have also uninstalled the application and re-installed it, only to have this issue continue.
Since updating to 5.1.1 when sliding to unlock the slide stays stuck over to the right, screen frozen, buttons inactive and the phone will eventually reboot after a couple of minutes hanging. This only happens since the 5.1.1 update. Also noticing battery issues, down to 35% now, would normally be at 50%+ at this time of day.

So we've mentioned screen protectors a lot so far, and unfortunately this is another thread about them (DON"T STOP READING THERE). Since i bought the invisibleShield, and absolutely love it. I was hoping the awesome CrackBerry community might make it better. Since it's a large screen protector that you have to cut up yourself, i was hoping someone had something i can trace and cut along a line, to better fit my screen. So does anyone have anything that we can trace to easier cut out screen protectors?
View 6 Replies View Relatedmy BB Torch 9800 screen started short circuiting, splitting in half, and everything going backwards when I slid the phone open. So I started using it with it slid closed and just texting on the screen and it worked great until the other day when the screen would no longer come on, even when it was closed. I know the phone still works because the red light was flashing because I got a message but I couldn't get the screen to come back on because I'm guessing it has short circuited enough that it gave out. So my question is, I got a cheap phone onto my contract now, but I don't have any contacts: how can I get my contacts from my BB where I can't see the screen onto this other phone? I have my SIM card in the other phone but no contacts are on it.
